We took by daughter's wedding gown to Nazli and had a terrible experience. My daughter's gown just needed basic alterations. We weren't changing anything about the dress. It was just too big and needed to be taken in. Nazli said she would have things done by the next fitting but then we'd go back and nothing was ever done. She kept doing what she called "temporary" alterations but would never complete it. She was always very abrupt and would tell us she's been doing this for years and knows what she is doing. It was so stressful and frustrating and my daughter would leave there every time almost in tears. After 4 fittings and not even being close to being done, we decided to take the dress to another seamstress. The only reason why I'm even giving her 2 stars is because she didn't charge us anything when we left. read more

I bought a Victoria Beckham embroidered jacket from Ebay but thought it could use some tailoring. I went Nazli and she was honest in saying the construction of the jacket was a little tricky and didn't think it was worth paying for complicated alterations. But she took the time and folded the sleeves in a way and showed me that it still looked good if I didn't zip up the jacket and just let it drape. I was very impressed how honest and practical she was. Other tailors might just do whatever a customer asks even if it doesn't make sense and charge a lot for their services. One hint is that she is inside a building with other businesses and GoogleMaps had me in circles. read more

I was so fortunate to have "found" Nazli. My brother had brought me some raw Thai silk fabric and I wanted to surprise him with a dress created for our next family occasion. Nazli had several ideas, and finally settled upon one that would "flow with the softness of the silk." With no pattern, she created a muslin pattern. We then modified a few spots. By the next time I dropped into her shop, she had done a beginning version of the dress- not yet ready to add sleeves or length, etc. One day, as I approached her shop, I saw my dress (through the glass door) already put together on her mannequin. Each visit was more exciting. She wasn't afraid to add or modify her original design. She "doesn't sleep at night" if it isn't perfect!! The day that the dress was ready, we were both so excited! I took my wedding gown to Nazli's 3 months before my wedding, she told me not to worry I had plenty of time. It didn't need much work, and by my second fitting (1 month after bringing it in) all she needed to do was sew in the cups and make the bustle. She told me it might be tricky with my gown being beaded and very heavy, but that she would figure something out and that she had "had this gown before." She even told me she'd buy buttons to match the beads to look better. Fast forward to 2 months later, the week before my wedding, and I still haven't heard from her. When I called and told her the latest I could pick up was Wednesday and she told me to come then, needless to say I was nervous. I reiterated which dress was mine and the work that needed to be done: cups and bustle. Then she called me the night before the final fitting and told me she was going to sew in the cups while I was there. I have never heard of this before, normally the work is done before you arrive, but okay what other choice do I have? When I arrived and put my gown on and my maid of honor asked to be shown how to do the bustle, she replied "you didn't want a bustle." What bride do you know that doesn't want a bustle on their wedding dress, especially a heavily beaded one? She then proceeded to tell me that she told me on the phone she couldn't do a bustle because it would rip the dress, which is flat out not true, I think I would remember my seamstress telling me she could not do a bustle on my wedding gown. The cups were also still not sewn in, so what had she been doing with my dress these 2 months? There was nothing done, and here I was picking up my dress 2 days before my wedding waiting for cups to be sewn in. I understand the wedding industry is stretched thin right now, but I really wish I had taken my dress elsewhere. I trusted her because of her high reviews, but I have to warn other brides. She is a very nice woman, but there is no organization, honesty, or communication at this place. Nazli ruined my Mother of the Bride gown - I would NEVER recommend her. Seeing the reviews, I gave her a call 1 month before the late Sept. wedding - she told me I had plenty of time, which later on, she told me that it was my fault that she didn't have enough time! (Btw, her site says she only has 1 person at a time during covid, a lie, since she had 1 or 2 persons coming in each time I was there without masks.) She assured me that she was capable of doing the work on my beaded gown, which she later told me that she couldn't do - and that was the NIGHT BEFORE I HAD TO LEAVE FOR THE WEDDING. When I went to pick up the gown, twice that day, I was horrified to see that she had CUT OFF the entire bottom of my beautifully scalloped dress, which was one of the highlights of the dress - I was in tears, literally crying. She told me that she really should have called me before she did that and that she "learned a lesson." She then pulled the cut piece out of her trash & said she'd sew it back on, but the damage was already done since she had cut through the scallops. Not only that, she had previously taken out the waistband stitches, at the bottom of the waistband, & failed to raise the dress up as I had requested & left the band open. She told me that she should have never taken on the job, I agreed, & said if she had told me early on I would have gone elsewhere. I am appalled that she strung me along up until the wedding. Nazli is a very poor businesswoman - NEVER NEVER HIRE NAZLI, she absolutely ruined my beautiful Mother of the Bride gown & I was devastated. I went to Nazli to alter my wedding dress two years after it was purchased, due to rescheduling the wedding a few times. When I purchased the dress I was 6 months pregnant. As you can imagine, it required a lot of work. I had some ideas for the dress, but Nazli steered me in better directions as she coached me on how to make the dress work best with my figure. She added straps to the dress, which I believe allowed me to enjoy my night without having to yank on the dress to keep it up, something that was not part of my "vision". I cannot say enough good things about Nazli and her business. I had the misfortune of being measured incorrectly for a bridesmaid dress, and there was a 4-5 inch gap where the dress simply would not zipper. I took it to another seamstress who refused to work on it, but Nazli went out of her way to think of a creative solution. She took the straps off, sewed them as paneling, and then used a similar colored fabric to make new straps. She asked me to come back a few times to do alterations, and the dress fit perfectly when she was done. No one was the wiser! Most of all, I am blown away with how dedicated she was.
