I am an African American female in my late 20's. I entered the store and despite being the only person besides the worker in the store I was not greeted. The store was silent, with no music on and the worker didn't once come up to me to ask if I needed any help. However, when a white customer walked in the door she was promptly greeted with a hello and asked if she needed any help. I had found an item I wanted to try on and the worker saw me carrying this item and never asked if I wanted to try it on. I then was forced to try to coat on without a fitting room. AFTER fully trying it on and taking it off, the worker comes up and asks me if I want to try it on. I then told her that was no longer necessary. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. I am not a person to assume my maltreatment is due to race, however the fact that a white customer received immediate treatment does raise suspicion. I would recommend this store address implicit bias as to their customers.

Antiques and collectibles are a different market as a buyer... If you see something you want it's better to buy it right then if it's priced within reason. You may never find that same item again... Old Market is what Old Market is... It's geared to tourists and things are often a little high priced in areas like this. So is their rent usually... These areas attract a high volume of people and if you don't want to pay the marked price...someone who comes in right behind you just might. Some of the items here are a little dusty, but I guess that's to be expected with that many surfaces. Pretty hard to stay on top of all of it... I have also noticed that they are willing to haggle a bit and bring down the price if you see a noticeable issue with an item. You just gotta ask (ie. stain, rip/tear, etc.)! I really appreciate that part because it really helps to eliminate waste, especially from clothing if they can be fixed. I find this particular store to have fairly organized sections, especially the clothing and linens. They could work on larger pieces and furniture, which are just kind of haphazardly placed in the rear of the store. The cleanliness of the store is pretty good compared to many local thrift stores, and they have recently done some remodeling that has helped to open up the space. One of my critiques would have to be that I feel most items are on average $1 over-priced across the board (just my personal opinion). For instance, a pair of lone, unmatched toddler pajama pants were $3.98 when I was looking yesterday. Seems a little steep given you can get a brand-new complete set for $9 or $10 at Old Navy or Carter's.
