If I was actively on fire, I would not stop in for help. had an acute painful issue and needed to see them urgently, I saw a nurse practitioner who (was by far the nicest person I worked with there) - she referred me to a specialist and my only option to be seen in less than two weeks was to go to the Boston office. About a week passed where I was still in pain... I went there, saw a specialist who...(really could use some bedside manor training) - told me I was too late, the problem should resolve on its own. For these delays, multiple visits and --- 0 relief in close to a month, I was charged over $800! I came to them seeking help, and they hurt me financially. I appealed to them that I should not be charged, certainly for the 0 value specialist visit. They told me to pound sand. Run, don't walk away from these money grubbing AHOLES. read more

After reading the overwhelmingly negative reviews, I knew I had to respond. I have seen Dr. Peters as my primary for over almost 20 years. She is professional as well as kind. Not enough room to tell you how happy I am with her and Atrius. The staff is always helpful as well. I don't know what I will do if she ever retires. read more

I have spoken with many patients through the town of concord. The horror stories I've heard should be public. The quality is atrocious. Atrius is a horrific place where doctors make their money and misdiagnose life threatening conditions by neglecting patients. They must be investigated. read more

I should have listened to these reviews. The building is very nice looking and that gives you a false sense of security. I was lured here for a primary care by a good review on a doctor review website. But the primary care was horrible. She didn't know anything about me after a year. She never seemed to review the chart before coming in. The staff I have real concerns about as well. The person taking my BP did not know how to do it. She put me in the low chair and stood above me... with my arm up high. This is obviously going to give me a low blood pressure reading. She did this at all three visits. They also made me sign a contract to get a drug that I had a previous prescription for. Never had to do that anyplace else. read more

I had a wonderful primary physician at Harvard Vanguard, but he was sick a lot and as a result I never saw him much. In fact, I was always referred to another physician, whether it's for a physical or a different health issue. Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Noor Roomi for a physical. Upon realizing that I am not her patient, she immediately acted unprofessional and stormed out of the office, remarking to her associates "Let's take care of this so we can stop playing games." I find her behavior extremely disrespectful, especially she did in front two other professionals, including her student. I was merely responding to a text message to confirm my appointment last night and she suggested that I switched to another primary physician. And went on to accuse me of "playing games". Who says that, even let's say if that was the truth? As I said, my physician Dr. Tilles was never available and he eventually left Harvard Vanguard. I was always referred to another physician, even for physical, so I didn't see or understand what is the big deal. Dr. Roomi obviously made it a big deal. Shame on her. A patient should never feel embarrassed or belittled when he or she leaves the doctor's office premise. read more

If you are at all concerned for your health, avoid Harvard Vanguard completely. I recently had an appointment. 1) The NP didn't perform my pap smear correctly. This is a life or death, preventative procedure for many women. I'm forty years old and I have been getting this procedure for two decades; I have never had an inconclusive result. Never. I've had negative results in the past, so this is not an inconsequential procedure. She said during the exam she saw some blood in my sample, which might taint the results. So why didn't she redo the swab right then? I am now forced to pay for a second procedure out of pocket or wait three months to have the procedure done again, but also for a fee. I would have to wait one year, in which time a great deal can happen if there is a problem, in order to avoid paying for a typically preventative procedure. When I spoke with the NP, she put it on me, indicating I must have had my period. What woman gets a pap smear while she has her period? No one. I told her I had my period over a week before. 2) Her office billed my insurance incorrectly causing me to incur a fee. My insurance company realized the error when I called, but Atrius Health called me to make sure that I knew they were choosing to refund me, but they had not incorrectly billed me. I switched from Burlington to Concord only for distance reasons. I was having significant pain and during the time the reception, nurses were rude when I wanted to know when I would be getting a call back for my issue and one particular staff member was condescending to me when I explained my symptoms, the level of pain, questions about the med and why the call back was taking so long. Never had an issue all the years I was with Burlington. read more

We go here for my children's doctors as well as my primary care. We've been relatively happy with the pediatrics department, but not the adult caregivers. I've seen my doctor only twice in 4 years. He is never there. This office goes through a horrendous bureaucratic company called Atrius Health. They often double charge, and seem to offer no benefit, save perhaps a third party email exchange with caregivers. Currently I'm waiting for X-rays. I was told I had to come to the office to see my X-rays. They would not email them, nor put them on a thumb drive. Instead they burnt me a CD which I cannot use because it is only for a Windows OS. The place is legally overwrought, doctors are routinely unavailable, and overall unfriendly. I recommend going elsewhere. read more

I have been with the practice now for 7 years. We do like our doctors but I am getting frustrated with how the practice is run. Very hard to get covid vaccines for children there and they reschedule appointments more often these days. They emailed that there would be vaccine clinics and there are no slot available. We have to drive 30 min a away to another location. Not convenient when you live in concord and have a busy work and life schedule. I feel like the only reason we are staying is convenience and now this is becoming an issue. Also they charge copays for regular physicals and I have to fight with their billing department constantly about this. read more

Fuhgetaboutit! You will wait up to a year to book an appointment with a real doctor. The staff will ask if they can pawn you off to an intern or nurse practitioner (aka someone that is NOT a doctor) and snort derisively if you insist on a real MD. They want your co-pay $, credit card, insurance card, driver's license, national ID, passport, etc, etc and will happily make you wait up to an hour each time you show up. Real doctors are few and far between and act harried, distracted, and overworked when you can actually see one. read more

This practice currently has 1.5 stars and I can see the reason after my visit today. First the original appointment I made was canceled by the practice and I had to reschedule. Writing an appointment in a computer isn't the goal. Keeping the appointment should be the goal. Every time (5 times in all) Concord Vanguard has canceled my appointment. I stopped going there myself for this reason, but kept my kids their bc the staff in the Peds Practice are nice enough, but same issue with appointments. The rest of the practice especially the Lab really needs new management. Having served in healthcare my entire life I don't think I have seen a worse run medical organization. My children needed to get lab work done after our doctors appointment and we were referred to the Harvard Vanguard Lap located in the practice for the blood draw. First the Peds nurses should do lab draws on children. A specific and specialized skill is needed to draw blood from children. Yes, it does cost the practice more to use a Peds nurse for this, but if you care about your patients then putting the patient first should be the first priority. 2nd If the practice is going to refer the children they take care of to their own lab they should teach and encourage the staff to be nice and friendly to these children. I took my 2 children to the lab. After the required wait of 30 mins. No one else was was waiting. Three lab techs escorted my son (age 7) and I into a room. No one explain what was going to happen. No one introduced themselves. One of the techs pointed to a chair and said sit here. My son and I sat down. "He needs to sit on your left", demanded one of the techs. So I moved my son to my left. "He needs to sit on your lap" demanded the same lab tech. Interrupting a discussion I was having with my son about stickers trying to find something to look at and distract him as we were getting ready for the pain that was about to come his way. I acknowledge the now rude lab tech. "Sir you need to have your son sit on your lap" the now belligerent lab tech said. I responded "I am". "Well I don't see him sitting on your lap" spoke the infuriating lap tech. This is when I left. I received the requisite apologies, but I am sure this practice will continue bumbling on as they have done for the last two years buyer beware! read more

This is my first time going to Harvard Vanguard in Concord. I am a patient at Harvard Vanguard's Post Office Square location, and was referred here for an MRI because I needed the first available appointment. My appointment was late, but the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They informed me immediately that they were running about 45 minutes behind schedule and offered to call me so I wouldn't have to wait in the waiting room longer than necessary. I was also traveling with an ESA, and they could not have been more friendly to my dog and accommodating, even offering him water. Even though my dog is an ESA, I do not often have friendly experiences bringing him places, and it such a refreshing change of pace when we are treated by such friendly staff members. They instantly made me feel more at ease. This was also my first MRI, and I was terrified and incredibly anxious. I'm extremely claustrophobic. The technician talked me through every step of the way. She came on the speaker in between each image and told me exactly what to expect like "This is going to last approximately two and a half minutes. Are you doing okay?" She would wait for me to respond before proceeding. I thanked her when I got out and she said "wow, no one ever thanks us." which I found so baffling! I thought the staff was incredible. I hope to never need an MRI again, but if I do, I would definitely go there again. read more

Wow could I rate this place any lower? After 40 years with the system (starting with Harvard Community) We finally called it quits! Neither Cambridge, Watertown, West Roxbury, or Wellesley sink to the low depths of borderline malpractice as this wretched location.Absolutely rude nurses, especially Caroline, who should be in another business where she won't deal with human beings especially ones under duress (Stephanie was not bad though). The are thoroughly non-responsive to questions, phone calls, and needs which resulting in an ambulance visit to the ER. We will miss the fabulous Dr. Kaegi, but will hopefully see him when he goes to a place more deserving of him. read more

Feeling completely trapped. If I want to continue to see my current PCP then i need to see specials within their 4 walls. They will not refer you even if you have had a long standing relationship with another dr, ex eye dr. My options were to go to their eye dept or find another dr. I guess its about keeping the money within their walls not the comfort level of their patients. My suggestion...if you want to see a specific dr then think twice before picking Harvard Vanguard. Endocrinology and gynecology also an issue. I have yrs of my life with these drs and now im told i can't go there. Gross...they are not about the patient at all. Even after speaking to the operations manager nothing was done. Continuity of Care is not what they believe in its yhe almighty dollar....patients beware!! read more

Pharmacy is the only good department here. The pa's and secretaries seem unhappy and unpleasant. There are other clinics that provide better service and less grouchy employees. read more

I've been a longstanding patient of this practice and I have finally just given up. Every staff member I came in contact with at my last visit was rude and miserable. Working in healthcare myself it's unacceptable. From the front office staff to the nurses to the pharmacy rude rude rude. If they are not complaining about the job or the other staff they are giving crap excuses on why they are running late and I have waited an hour for my visit then another hour for an ear drop prescription. I was considering giving the pediatric dept a shot due to needing a new pediatrician but honestly at this point I'm just taking all of my business elsewhere. Sorry Harvard Vanguard but your swanky new building can't mask your awful staff and shortcomings. read more

my daughter was a patient of behavioral services seeing Erica Moffet for meds. This woman was nasty to her from day one & would hold her meds hostage if she missed an appointment. We found a counselor near our home who arranged for transport for her which Erica could've done. The new place scheduled an appt. with their med doctor but wasn't till the end of month. My daughter needed a refill do called Erica who refused to fill it because my daughter was going somewhere else. We had to call the doctor n charge of the department at the corporate level who made sure the script was refilled. Thank you to him. Would never recommend seeing Erica Moffet for anything. She is miserable--not a nice person. In her job you should be compassionate but she is the opposite. read more

Dealing with the staff at Harvard Vanguard is a nightmare. They reschedule your appointments without notifying you or calling to see if the date/time is convenient. Trying to contact your doctor using My Health Online is no better. You either get no response or a generic answer from a staff member which does not even try to answer your question. Actually getting through to your doctor is very, very difficult. The bottom line is you are regarded as a commodity to be processed. read more

As a patient of Concord Hillside which is now Harvard Vanguard, I can honestly say it has gone way down hill, especially since moving it's practice to the new building. I am perfectly happy with my Dr. but hate to get my lab tests in their lab department with a passion. Why, a few of the recent people who have greeted me could use a personality and some new life. Older black lady that looked like a cartoon character and a very grumpy overweight thin haired woman that was as cold as ice. Looked like a long line of people waiting for tests and the waiting room was packed but neither seems to think I deserved an answer on how long it would take to be seen. I had the misfortune of having Linda, the cartoonish looking woman take my blood. She couldn't find a vein and needed someone else to help which only made it worse. I ended up with a hematoma the size of New York as a result. Instead of apologizing, she acted like it was my fault. There use to be a lovely Irish lady that was wonderful, but along with the high turn over, no longer there. I suggest try Emerson. read more

They charged us $450 for an office visit in which they told my wife only that he should reduce her stress in response to significant abdominal pains that had continued for months. It turned out that she had a large (8cm) ovarian cyst. Upon asking why the bill was so expensive, they just said "that's what we charge." Avoid HVMA if you value your health or your money. read more
