Don't go here. My friend and I went in to get nose piercings. The guy took us back to the room and ee hadn't picked out our jewelry. He said that they use a standard piece of jewelry for all of the piercings. I should have walked out at that point. He asked if I wanted to wear possibly wear a hoop later. I said possibly. So he did the piercing very low on my nostril. My friend was getting her septum pierced and she was really nervous. He pierced her and she reached up address to move the hair out of her face and he YELLED at her and said "Don't move, Im serious. Now your piercing is going to be crooked." She had already been pierced, and hadn't moved while he did it. He didn't really give a great explanation on how to take care of the piercing. I ended up getting a bump next to mine, which can be Pretty common. So I went into a different place and asked about my piercing and how to get rid of the bump. They looked at it and said it was awful placement and they aren't surprised that it got a bump because it's in a horrible spot. So now I have to take it out, let it heal and try again. This place offered me a discount. My friend went into a different place to change it her septum jewelry and they also told her that her piercing had horrible placement. Two completely different establishments mentioned horrible placement. Just don't go here to get pierced. Don't do it. read more

I had the best experience ever! I just got a septum piercing today for my 18th birthday and as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by two lovely people and my piercer Rowan came out with a smile , she also guided me step by step on cleaning procedures before piercing me. She did not rush and took her time! After the piercing was done I felt light headed because I was so anxious but she ran to get me cold water and stood next to me making sure I was okay to leave. 5/5 ! We called ahead of time to get a price and they guy told us for my piercing it would be $30-$40 a piece including jewelry. So we go and ended up at the wrong one. The lady there was super nice and gave us coupons to use at the right one since we went to the wrong one. But at the main location it all went downhill. We walked in and the lady was already giving us an attitude, had no smile, and just looked like she didn't like her job! So we tell her what piercing we wanted already having talked to someone else there. And she told us it would be $60-$80 for what I was wanting without the jewelry. So we told her that we talked to someone and told her what they quoted us. She then, got snarky and said we should've talked to her directly and that maybe we were think of the cheap place Platinum Blonde down the street. I went to Atomic for a birthday tattoo. Originally I had wanted a word on my finger, but David showed me some photos of finger tattoos that had healed poorly and told me that no matter how professionally the tattoo is done, it's highly unlikely that one in that area will look good afterward and not fade away. I told him I needed some time to rethink it (I have 4 tattoos already so I knew I wanted this one, I just wanted to make sure it'd look good so I needed to choose a different place to put it) and he was very patient while I sat with my friends in the lobby and discussed where I should put it instead. I decided to have the word done directly under my collarbone on the left side of my chest. David took my design and sized it multiple times until I was happy with it, and again was very patient with me as (naturally) I wanted it to be perfect. He took me back in the room and gave me the outline to show him exactly where I wanted it, and he placed it perfectly. The tattooing process was quick and relatively painless. He asked me a couple times if I was okay and how the pain was, and I told him that on a scale of 1-10 it honestly never felt worse than a 5 or 6 at the maximum. Tattoo came out beautifully, David was kind and professional, and he even thanked me for sitting so well while he did it. Afterward, I wanted to additionally purchase a hoop for my nose piercing, and Bonnie changed out my stud for the hoop FREE of charge. She was very sweet, explained to me how to use hoops since I'd only ever had studs before, sized the hoop perfectly, and was overall just such a sweet, pleasant woman. I live in Waco, but I'll be coming out to Atomic Tattoo & Body Piercing in Austin in the future for anything else I want to get! read more

worst place ever I went in to change my dermal jewel, it took 30 mins really?!! it took max 5 mins to get the actually piercing. This guy was horrible did not know what he was doing and he never screwed it in right. They said because it was long its going to be sticking out. Bs I went home it screwed it in myself. He also cut my skin, and moved the plate underneath around. its now all swollen and irritated. The only man I will ever let pierce or touch my skin is Joe at Classic tattoo in San marcos. Just got my first tattoo there and the whole experience was fantastic! The shop was very clean and spacious. Definitely a very professional and non-intimating environment The whole staff was very friendly and inviting. I had a killer idea and Ray Strickland made it come to life. He clearly had a knack for macabre style I was going for. He also seemed as genuinely excited for my idea as I was. A three hour tattoo can be grinding so having a fun atmosphere is a definite must! It didn't hurt either that he had a bad ass set of music playing. His Misfits playlist helped that last hour fly by . I highly recommend this shop for anybody looking to get work done. She is a very talented artist. I'm by no means an art or tattoo aficionado, but I've had a few pieces done so I think I speak with enough experience to say her abilities are top notch. I have been to several tattoo shops, called a few tattoo shops, have heard about a few tattoo shops... and, this tattoo shop is by far a breathe of fresh air. The people that work there are not uptight, they're cool and really freaking nice. I have witnessed their customer service firsthand while waiting for my session (because I arrived early, not because the tattooer was late) and they are really awesome with the customers that walked in. They actually take care of you and help you out- lots of other shops sorry to say it, don't come close. Everyone there is nice and don't make you feel like a small bug in a lions den. I went in the first day and asked for someone that could tattoo me, one of the girls (super nice) recommended DANIEL F. WARD! I made and appt to get tattooed by him the following week. First of, I'm not one to jump into the hands of any tattooer without even reading any reviews first.. but, I REALLY wanted this tattoo. When I went back DANIEL F. WARD had drawn up my tattoo just the way I wanted. He was very nice, joked around, made me feel very comfortable and did an amazing job. I went back a couple of weeks later to get a second tattoo and the whole experience was yet again, incredible. DANIEL F. WARD is a bad ass artist with a good soul. He is great! I got the worst tattoo ive ever had here. My original idea was a very small black and grey bee tattoo on my shoulder. The artist encouraged me to increase the size, because of the placement and I agreed. In hind sight I believe he want to increase the tattoo size because he isnt skilled in detail work, or tattooing in general. I brought in an image of the exact bee I wanted and he created a stencil of that image, pretty standard for a walk in tattoo appointment. I have a good portion of my body covered in tattoos, id say the artist used way more than normal pressure, like really dug in. Fine, I can deal with being uncomfortable for a bit. He was kind, and we had a good conversation throughout the session. When he was finished I looked in the mirror. The only part of my tattoo that looked like the stencil he used were the wings. The body of the bee looks like a child drew it. I was given absolutely no aftercare instructions, which was fine because it was not my first time being tattooed. My 1/2 dollar sized bee cost $120 before tip. By the time I took off my plastic wrap my tattoo was basically a giant scab. I had to go to the doctor and be put on antibiotics. The tattoo scarred badly. My only tattoo that has done so, and I have cared for them all in the exact same way. I learned my lesson the hard way about getting walk in tattoos, even small, simple designs. I genuinely hope that the artist that tattooed me no longer works at this place. I don't unserstand how someone with such little skill is allowed to tattoo people for money. Horrible experience. read more

I just went to Atomic Tattoo last weekend to get one new one and another one fixed. I was reluctant bc my last one didn't turn out like I wanted it too, it wasn't at this shop though. Benjamin was my artist and he was absolutely amazing!! He was thoughtful, took his time making sure everything was exactly how I wanted it and an extremely talented artist. I met (piercer) Joey on social media and came in to get some work done in hopes of it helping my migraine issues. The parlor was super clean and all of the instruments were sanitized and in the correct baggies when opened. Joey opened them in front of me so that I could see for myself that everything was sanitized and did not pose a threat to my health. I was incredibly impressed by how upfront Joey was about the location of my piercings and what risks they could pose. She even informed my of some reasons why past piercings did not heal right including the size of my ears not being large enough for an industrial. I wish someone had told me before! She may have taken a little while to make sure the placing was exact but I appreciate this because this means she wanted to make sure there was no damage to surrounding nerves. I loved how concise she was and how concerned she was in making sure I did not have too much blood loss from my daith. (They can bleed a LOT when first punctured, especially if you have sinus issues and this can cause you to pass out.) She was super sweet and even checked on me later that night to make sure all was well. Everything ran so much smoother than I could have imagined even with it being their last appointment of the night. Thanks a bunch, guys, for seriously great service and a clean environment! I felt very comfortable and I would not mind being stabbed by Joey any time! I will definitely be back in. P.S. The daith did in fact help my migraines! I no longer get the headache part but only the rest of the bodily aspects like nausea. read more

My wife and I were in town for the weekend just roaming around looking for stuff to do. We visited other shops but decided to keep searching. (I have been searching for years...) On the way back to the hotel my wife spotted Atomic Tattoo and we decided to swing by. The staff was friendly and made us feel comfortable even though we were both on the fence about getting my first tattoo. I gave Matt Tarkman (dude was hilarious) two ideas I've been carrying around for years and he was just as pumped as I was. My wife opted for a nose ring but does what a new tattoo or possible cover up. In just few hours Matt had me hooked up with TWO awesome tattoos. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I came here with two friends and they both got different ear piercings. The first one went okay, albeit slow, and the guy piercing her dropped the piercing and had to have her find it. On the second piercing the guy answered the phone in the middle of the piercing my friend (after making the hole, before successfully putting in the ring because he was fumbling around), said he had pierced her in the wrong spot and then offered to pierce her in the correct spot. He acted like she got a bonus piercing when what she really got was a hole in her ear that she didn't want. Then he tried to charge full price, and when I told him we shouldn't have to pay full price for a botched piercing, he got mad at us and told me it was my fault because I had been on my phone before he started piercing and I'm not supposed to "video tape" (I wasn't taking photos or video - I had my phone out for a second BEFORE he pierced either of them) and I made him "nervous" so he messed up. Never taking the responsibility for the botched earring, stating that he was confused because he had made two markings on her ear and did not know which hole they had decided on. So instead of double checking where she wanted her piercing, even though she had already stated that, he pierced her in the wrong spot. (He changed the story multiple times for why he messed up and blamed it on us for various reasons). He said he was the only one there and he wasn't able to give us a discount but didn't have the number for a manager -- he had me call the Burnet location and ask for a manager (Justin), who wasn't working that day. Eventually other customers came in and he clearly didn't want them to hear us complaining, so he tried to guilt us and say we don't have to pay for it, but he'll have to pay for it himself. And then he continued to ignore us and attend to the other customers who had walked in the door, clearly showing us the way out. We all felt bad for the people who walked in after us... What an awful place. read more
