I hadn't been to a laundromat in 20 years, but during a time of a recent plumbing issue at our house decided to just take all of the loads that had accumulated and do them all at once. The woman who works here is very helpful and non judgmental. There are three machine choices to pick from depending on how much you have. The biggest machine costs $6.50; the medium one $5.50; the smallest $4.50. I probably could have gotten away with the smallest one as it's comparable to the size machine we have at home, but did the medium one just in case. You can add extra wash or extra rinse for an additional fee. There's also an option to do delicates and adjust the temperatures to cold, warm, and hot settings. You do need cash to convert into quarters but the machine takes $20 bills and they can give you change for larger bills at the front desk. The staff member helped me calculate how much I'd need to convert and what made the most sense. The machine takes less than 30 minutes. I didn't use the dryers as ours at home still works fine. There are a few waiting areas and one small couch. I saw a keurig machine for coffee and a vending machine. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars because the restroom was out of order. Hopefully I won't have a need for return, but I definitely would, perhaps for an annual or bi-annual comforter cleaning. Note that this is also not a 24 hour laundromat like others. The 6 pm close time might make it tough. I went on a Tuesday late morning and didn't have any trouble finding machines or a place to sit while I did work and waited. read more

Great laundry mat ! I dropped my clothes off here for the wash and fold service and the women that owns the store was very nice and walked me through how the service worked (it was my first time). I got my clothes back in two to three day but I believe you can pay to get it back faster if needed. I was in no rush . I used this laundromat for the first time. My experience was disappointing. Warning...if you're looking for a more modernized, state of art laundromat; this is NOT IT! The building is very small and looks shabby . The parking lot has approximate (7-10) parking spaces and that's being generous. The laundromat also offers Cleaner services. As I walked inside to inspect the premises, I immediately noticed that the washers and dryers are ancient front loader machines. I drove a distance to find what I thought to be a great place to do my laundry, but my experience wasn't good. There is limited space to move around inside the laundromat. Be sure to take quarters because they do not offer laundry cards. They do sell laundry detergents, however, the bleach they sell is some off brand name. I purchased a bottle for $1.99 to use on my white towels. The bleach did not give me a clean wash like Clorox. Cleanliness of laundromat is as good as it gets. The floors and appearance of laundromat was decent, but it lacked a derp surface cleanliness. The washers did work properly, but the flap that covers the detergent compartment on top was old and looked as though built up mold had been cleaned from inside of flap. When it came to drying my clothes, the dryers did not look well-maintained. As a matter of fact, I had to notify staff that two of the dryers did not work properly. After putting 4 to 5 quarters in each dryer, which totaled 30 to 35 minutes or 7 minutes per quarter, my clothes were still wet like they had just come out of washing machine. The staff person that was in duty...extremely nice and helpful, but she was not authorized to replace the money I lost. She said the owner was coming, but she had no idea what time. She was nice enough to dry one load in the dryer behind the desk for their use only. I had to use more of my own money to dry the other load. I did not want to be there any longer than I needed. I am fairly new to ATL, but I hope I NEVER have to go there again or use another laundromat of their caliber!!! On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Atomic Laundromat a rating of 2. Why 2? The staff was nice but seem intimidated by owner and did not inform her that a consumer lost money in her establishment though no fault of my own. Best solution... buy a washer and dryer, if you can afford it! The laundromats I have used. 4 thus far, need some serious repair work, more modernized equipment, and improved customer service. I write this free of malice but with warning...Buyers beware!!!! read more

Fantastic establishment! Always know that my clothes will get cleaned. Staff goes above and beyond. In additon to using the dry cleaning and wash and fold services, I occasionally take larger items there to wash in the industrial size machines. They are brand new and super efficient. I think the Fox News/Christian music was a bit of a fluke. Always neutral programming on t.v and lots of indie music as well as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holliday in the past few months. Place is always clean. Plenty of washer and dryers always available. read more

Do not take your clothes here. When they went to tag my shirt for dry cleaning they stapled the tag to my dress shirt. This snagged the shirt and caused it to ruin the threading. They refused to accept responsiblity and did not do anything to compensate me for my shirt. read more

This place is horrible. I used to love going there to do my laundry because the machines are huge and I can wash a months worth of clothing for less than $10, but do NOT get anything dry cleaned there. I got my comforter dry cleaned and first of all, they lost it and tried to give me one that wasn't mine, and secondly, when I opened it up, there were still stains on it. There was a new fabric discoloration, AND there's a hole in the corner now. What the heck, Atomic Laundry. AND they still charged me $50!!! Never go here. I've been coming here for six months or so for drive up dry cleaning and shirt laundering. A few months before Pro Cleaners on Lavista closed, I'd had more than enough of them, so I started up with Atomic. I like them a lot. We had a misunderstanding about some alterations, but they did right by me, so I can't say enough good things about Atomic. I highly recommend these good people! read more

I will say that the staff is mellow, but the place smell's strange/bad and too many poorly labeled out of order machines. Soap dispensers are moldy and have caked on old soap. It was pristine, the machines were well-maintained, parking was very convenient and the woman on duty was extremely cordial and helpful -- when she realized it was my first time there, she even checked with me twice to make sure everything was going smoothly. Have used them for almost 10 years, but in the last year I have had a ton of broken buttons, ripped shirts, and other issues. They've also greatly increase their pricing and this place is now a complete rip off. I would avoid them. Complained to management about the damage to clothing articles multiple times and they collected my telephone number and contact information three times, no call ever from the owner. I was very friendly and loyal to this place, both using their laundromat & dry cleaning services. They lied to me about dry cleaning and then did nothing to apologize for their errors. I dropped off dry cleaning this past Thursday. He said I could pick up anytime on Saturday. I dropped by on Saturday to pick up and she, person #2, that he made a mistake and that it wasn't ready; now to come to pick up anytime on Monday. So I call after 10 a.m. on Monday and it's still not ready to pick up. She, person #3, says to come after 3 p.m. I told persons 2 & 3 that I was owed something for this; person 2 said manager would be in on Monday and I told person 3 to speak with manager about a resolution; nothing happened! I have used this laundry for perhaps a year. They are always friendly and pleasant, and their prices are great. Unfortunately, they have lost track of our order twice. The first time, I had to look thru their inventory myself to find it. The second time it turned out that the place they had sent the shirts to had lost one of the shirts and delayed returning the order until they could send it all together. (They did eventually find it.) Atomic didn't have good enough records to know that it hadn't been delivered and I found myself once again looking through all of their inventory myself. After the second time I decided I need to find another cleaners where I can be more confident that our clothes won't be lost. read more
