I took my vehicle to a part store because it was acting up. They ran a diagnostic test. The test…read moresaid i needed the TBI replaced. .... my vehicle doesn't have one! Idk.... At the store was a customer who recommended me to take my vehicle to Dave Cooper. When I arrived at Dave's he informed me about the TBI and we both chuckled. Then he made an appointment for me to return with my vehicle. On the scheduled date I dropped off my vehicle, Later that day the secretary called me and told me that my vehicle would not start for them and that they would need to replace one of my batteries since they had tested it and it was very weak. She also mentioned that this was probably the main cause of the problem. They changed the battery and now my vehicle runs like the day I bought it. Thank you Mr Dave Cooper and all his staff. I'm definitely taking my vehicle to you when needed.

Midwest Auto Care - Look at this bill

Unfortunately Midwest Auto is a shady money trap I wouldn't recommend. I was told my Ford Taurus…read moreneeded a new Transmission for between $3200-5100 and that my PT Cruiser needed to have the engine resealed for $1250 but luckily I shopped these repairs. It turns out the liquid leaking form my PT was mostly transmission fluid which completely leaked out and only needed a new line. As for the Ford Taurus's transmission DISCOUNT TRANSMISSION in Lake Station didn't find an issue with the transmission but rather that the odometer needed to be replaced and PC issues addressed. On another visit in May 2024 my PT broke down just a few miles from Midwest after picking it up which cost me an additional towing fee and repair. This on top of the shady $150 inspection fee they charge which which missed the issue. So what would have been a minimum of between $4450-6350 was thousands less elsewhere. Between Midwest advertising free loaners which were never available, free shuttles which weren't always running or management not answering calls and poor customer service 1 star is justifiable. I strongly suggest skipping Midwest Auto Care and finding an honest company.

However, I'm not quite if I'm impressed with the quality. Especially, being that everytime my vehicle is repairs im paying about $2000 & up. $1500 of that being in labor fees, I just figured I shouldn't have to bring the vehicle back less than a year honestly. Am I being too high maintenance?
