Since our pool was built in the '80s, replacing the loose tile was not an option, as it is no longer available. As our tile continued to fall off, I saved as much as I could until I could hopefully find a possible solution. Fast forward to April of 2022, I called Brad, the owner of Dates Pool and Spa, to see if he may have any suggestions. He was on time for his scheduled appointment, and I found him trustworthy and very knowledgeable from the very beginning. He suggested cleaning our existing tile, having mosaic art pieces made in character of our rustic backyard theme, and reapplying the loose tile that I had saved over the years. As you can see from the pictures, our pool turned out beautiful and for literally a third of the cost of what we were originally quoted three years prior. Brad and his crew (Robert and Rick) worked tirelessly to finish everything before our upcoming backyard event. My husband and I can't thank Brad enough for everything he and his crew did for us. Hard to find these days such an honest and dependable company. We would highly recommend Dates Pool and Spa for any of your pool service needs!!

I hired Blue Diamond Pool Service (David Ceballos) to maintain the swimming pool at my rental…read moreproperty. During the first five months of service, everything went well. David consistently showed up every Wednesday as scheduled, and I had no complaints. Unfortunately, after that, the quality of service steadily declined. He began missing scheduled service days without providing any notice. Instead of hearing from him, my tenant was the one who repeatedly had to inform me that the pool had not been serviced. Whenever I asked David about the missed visits, there was always an excuse, but the lack of communication continued. At the end of May 2026, David advised me that the pool needed to be drained because the phosphate levels were too high. I spent nearly $500 to have the pool drained and refilled. Afterward, he charged me an additional $250 to restart and rebalance the pool chemicals. Given that expense, I expected the pool to remain in good condition. However, within about a month, algae began appearing again and continued to worsen. Throughout this time, I also repeatedly informed David that the pool pump timer and speed settings were incorrect. The pump was only running at a very low speed from approximately 1:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Each time I mentioned it, he would tell me he would check it during his next visit, but the issue was never corrected. During July 2026, the service became even more unreliable. David frequently failed to show up for scheduled cleanings and never notified me when he missed a visit. Again, my tenant had to let me know the pool had not been serviced. I also could not get him to answer my phone calls or respond to my text messages. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach him, he finally responded on July 31, 2026, and informed me that he was ending my service. By that point, I had already hired another pool service because he had stopped communicating and the pool was turning green again due to the lack of maintenance and chemicals. My biggest disappointment was not just the missed service visits, but the lack of communication and reliability. If a service provider cannot make a scheduled visit, a simple phone call or text message goes a long way. Unfortunately, after my initial positive experience, the service became inconsistent, communication stopped, and I was left paying significant costs while the condition of the pool deteriorated. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Blue Diamond Pool Service.

An owner supplied permanent pool vacuum, in every pool. The three things that a pool company does as part of weekly service is 1) check the water/chemical levels and adjust, 2) brush the waterline tile so it does not develop calcium or permanent stains, and 3) vacuum the pool. Gil wants his people in and out in under 10 minutes. At $150 +/- per month for 4x per month service, thats almost $40/hour; thats a great rate for him. If he has to brush the tile, it could take an extra 10 minutes. If he has to vacuum the pool, that could take an extra 20. So his profit goes down. He will force you to use your own vacuum, that runs all the time. Its ugly, its inconvenient, and it gets in the way. So now you're paying $150 per month for him to check the chemical levels? This is a waste of money- find a guy who will guarantee that he will take care of your pool correctly. After we repeatedly asked Gil to do the job we hired him for (brush, vacuum, and check) every week then he started to lean into the fact that our home will be operating as a bed & breakfast in the future. And that we will have guests in the future. So, despite that nobody is at the house and nobody uses the pool (yes, we still want it to be clean and look nice), he decides he now needs to switch from $150 per month to $450 per month for "commercial" service. Which does include vacuuming and brushing the tile, not just checking the water- yet when hiring him for residential service he said those things we included. Unfortunately, profit is the only important thing to Gil and if you are not willing to have a permanent vacuum floating around inside your pool, then you will need to look somewhere else, and you should.

The owner called me and said we'd been receiving service the whole time (news to us) and he'd like to start over. Then he made it clear he only meets clients before 3 pm through the week, and that it seemed like this wouldn't work. With all of the issues created by lack of communication on the businesses part, all we wanted was to meet face to face for a few minutes to set things up right. At that point, it was clear he didn't want our business. I'm shocked by all of this because the company gets great reviews, but they definitely aren't hurting for clients and their customer service is lackluster at best. We felt like just a number on a page from day 1. Definitely don't recommend this company. It's expensive compared to others and not worth the money based on what we experienced. We ended up having to do all kinds of service and troubleshooting in our own because the tech wasn't doing their job apparently anyways.
