Amazing place served by the kindest people I've met. My family and I went looking for good food and we left with way more than that. The food is delicious, the chicken brujería is totally recommended and the sandwiches are big and very well served, the coffee and the juices are fresh and the employees we're warm and hardworking. First of all, I'm not paid to give this feedback. For months I've walked by this place and never entered despite the constant reviews from my co-workers. Decided to eat here..."wow it's good!" Been here 4xs and have enjoyed 3 of 4 meals. Wasn't a fan of the Mahi-Salad (don't like carrots). Every time I eat here I try a new plate. Best thing I enjoy (and it's not on the menu) is the fact that you can interchange breads for tostones when getting a sandwich. Who ever said a pan con bistec needs to be on cuban toast? Why not media noche bread? Or between two crunchy tostones? Took with me 2 coworkers this time - both are picky eaters - and they too enjoyed their meals. I first heard about Atlantis Cafe from my friend Jessica who was constantly raving about this place and how fresh and tasty their food was. I finally got her to agree to let me go with her for lunch a few months ago and was very pleasantly surprised by the experience. The service was quick and efficient, the food was fresh and flavorful and the prices are very reasonable. I then took my VERY picky pregnant friend a couple of weeks later and even she was amazed by how good the food was (I don't think I've ever seen her eat that much in one sitting before). Since my first visit, I've gone back quite a bit and have never been displeased by the food or the service. Just last week I had a delicious smoothie when I didn't have time for actual food between hearings. I love that the healthy menu options are plentiful, and they've even got a paleo meal plan option. I've been coming here for a long time and not until today did I realize the reputation this little family owned restaurant is, and with good reason. It's usually the holes in the wall or mom-and-pop type places that have the best food and service and this joint is no exception. Master Chef Alex and our friend with mom and an amazing staff in the kitchen are most welcoming people when you come here. Everyone who sets foot in here and it's local knows them and vice versa. Now let's talk food, shall we? I mostly come here for breakfast since they're so close to the office and on my way to most locations. I like the fact that they cook in front of you, open kitchen style and that way you know there's no monkey business going on in the back where most kitchens are. They cook fast and the food is delicious especially now that the menu has more items to choose from even though I like the most traditional breakfast...eggs, protein and toast with coffee and milk. I've also been here for lunch and the lunch specials plus some a la carte items I've ordered and have never been disappointed. Like I said before, the service is excellent, always welcomed with a smile and some jokes and then good food to follow that. So I told Alex I would continue with the trend of 5 star reviews because it's well deserved. first off, i think the reviews here for Atlantis are paid for, the photos are way too similar for each reviewer and i didnt see many things here like i saw in the photos, i dont like being deceived and so i went to Atlantis hoping for great things... The staff was super friendly, very courteous, the food was ok, a steak salad and a shrimp salad which took about 20 minutes when it wasnt crowded was contrary to some other reviews but overall way very plentiful and tasty, meaning we ate all it but the decor was sad feeling, (i hate florescent lighting, makes food look horrible) and the ambiance, sorry, there was none. this is a lunch spot with decent food and nice service, its not a destination place. i would have given Atlantis 3 stars based on service and taste but it lost 1 for mildly decepting me on style and decor. Also all those delicious looking vegetable options in the photos werent on the chalkboard menu, they should be and the tostones option was neither. in Miami you can get good to great Cuban food just about anywhere, if i am hungry near Atlantis, yes i would maybe stop in, but its not likely. read more

I was born and raised in Miami, so I know good Cuban food and Cuban coffee. Best black beans I've ever had, and the Cuban coffee is awesome. I guess part of is because they use great coffee; Bustello Supremo, not the regular. The owners and the operators of the shop are very friendly and everyone knows each other, it's great! I work in Downtown 2 days per week and I am eating there 2 times per week. They have healthy options if you like and all kinds of smoothies. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy! read more

I was at the federal building and popped over to this hidden gem by the courthouse. I had the Pan Con Bistec sandwich and sampled one of the ham and cheese empanadas. Both were excellent. The sandwich had enormous flavor and was a much bigger portion than i expected. The tangyness of the steak blended so well with the crisp tomatoes. The added crunch of the potato sticks with the cuban bread made this a treat for taste and texture. The empanada was just perfect. The cheese was melty and had a sharp flavor that blended well with the tendr ham. Service was great. Food was excellent. Next time you're around the courthouse in Miami, make sure you pop into Atlantis Cafe. read more

I was afraid of finding affordable places to eat in the area that had a multitude of options. I eat a very particular diet while my husband is more lenient with food options but likes really good food. (He is damn picky about it really.) We both LOVED this little place. On top of that, I am an Italian girl from the NYC area who had also lived in San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Fe, and was surprised that their espresso was hands down the best I have ever had! And cheap! Finally coffee at the price coffee is supposed to be, coffee is not an expensive product yet most places charge so much. Also, the staff is out of control amazing! So sweet. This has to be hands-down one of my favorite little wonders in downtown Miami. It's a hole in the wall owned by a Mom and her son. No fancy marketing needed here, it's always busy no matter what time I visit. The food tastes great every single time - consistency. I'm not much of a person to monitor my calorie intake but if you're like me then I would recommend any chicken or steak entree with rice and platano maduros. Be sure to take the black beans with every order, they are fantastic! I'm super picky about how I like my maduros cooked but they know how to deliver a perfect product every time. However, thanks to Alex and the Atlantis Cafe crew, when he finally arrived, Alex prepared us fresh hot food, even though the delay was due to Grubhub's delivery driver. That says a lot about their business and their care for their customers! The empanadas were soooooooooo good! They were flavorful, juicy and tasty! We thought about ordering more but found out they were closed. The Cuban sandwich was huge and delicious! We were so full and in awe of the sandwiches. The lunch special came with a bag of chips! I'm used to the hole in the wall looking places being hidden gems so I wasn't swayed away by the looks of this place. I got the strawberry, cranberry and pineapple smoothie (with no sugar added, just water) and it was the perfect choice. I've been craving it since I got it but they're closed on weekends. I ordered the ham and bacon omelette, hold the ham and add more bacon with wheat toast. I shared the croissant breakfast sandwich with my bf and he got the egg white sandwich. All delicious. Fantastic spot in downtown Miami for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The lunch specials offer superb value: you get an entree with two sides of your choice for $9-12. We got a potato ball, a beef empanada, the Brujeria Chicken with white rice, beans, and vegetables, and the breaded chicken sandwich; all for $20! The food is amazing, possibly right up there with the best Cuban food in Miami. The atmosphere is hip and the café seems to be frequented predominantly by people who work nearby.
