A great place to go right after jury duty. I ordered a croissant bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich which was phenomenal. Also, grabbed a freshly made orange juice.
This is a mother and son family business and I ABSOLUTELY love this place. It's small Cafe, located near the courthouse in downtown, Miami. I ordered the pan con bistec (which was well seasoned) with tomato, lettuce and potatoes sticks..ugh so good! It was big enough to shared with my coworker, I was actually full with my half. The service here has always been top notch, very attentive and just genuinely nice people. Overall, the food is amazing, and cooked from scratch (everything is good). I definitely recommend checking them if you're in the area, I promise you won't be disappointed and the prices are reasonable .
Came here with my bf earlier this year (pre covid). It was a little out of they way but because of the reviews, we made our way here in the rain! Did not regret this decision at all. It was amazing!! Completely worth it and soo cheap for the quality. The new world steak and eggs was AMAZING. the steak was so tender and flavorful. I was actually shocked!! At this price, I think it was 9-10$. Cmon... what more can you ask for!! My bf got the Joe sandwich that was also good! Stuffed with meat. Can't wait to return here when I go back to Miami one day!
I wanted something different than your typical sandwich for lunch and I decided to try this place. It's a hop skip and a jump away from my job and that makes this place almost dangerous because I'll keep coming back to sure! I got the "pan" con bistec but on tostones. HO-LY MO-LY. I ate every last crumb, lol. So yummy! I think some picante would've given it the perfect 10 but it was still great. The amount of steak they give you was plentiful, and cooked to order. The put tomato, lettuce and papitas (shoestring potato chips) on it. The prices are reasonable, the orders placed were made in 15 or less and the server , Alex, assisting me was kind and patient while I was placing my order. I'll def be back soon!
This is an amazing breakfast cafe located in downtown Miami near the courthouses. I frequent this cafe almost every morning if not for a delicious sausage,egg and cheese croissant, definitely for a well prepared coloda to start my day! I highly recommend giving Atlantis cafe a visit! I promise you won't regret it!
QUICKIE REVIEW Great Cubano sandwiches found here. FOOD This is what I tried: -midnight and chicken club sandwich Sandwich was simple (as it should be) and great tasting. By no means were they stingy with meat and in fact, I had to take half on the flight on with me as I traveled back. Which leads me to say, I had it on my flight as well and it taste great still, even at room temperature (I did catch a few looks of jealousy). PARKING Street parking if you can find it. SERVICE Order at counter, they will drop it off to you. PRICE Less than $15. TIPS/OTHER THOUGHTS It's always the hole in the wall places that are gems.
My daughter and I have been traveling thru' coastal cities of Florida for over a week. We stopped in at Atlantis Cafe based on the 5-Star rating on Yelp. I am so glad we did! My daughter who is a small and picky eater finished all her food and raved about it. This is by far the best meal we've had on our trip. Two bites into my meal, I could tell the food is made fresh with pride. We had the Home Potatoes Special with an espresso and the Sweet Plantain Omelette. All that for $13.05 with tax included. That is a steal considering an hour parking in the lot across the street cost us $18! I am a restaurant owner in Wisconsin and I know food and labor costs well. I would have gladly paid another $3 for our meals. The owner, Alex, and his staff were very friendly. And that made our dining experience all the more wonderful.
The service was terrific. Staff was so friendly and warm. As for the food ... I ordered incorrectly. The sandwich was very tasty. So was the coffee. The hot chocolate was definitely hot chocolate. The mulligan for me was the plate of fries covered in bacon and cheese and egg. It should have been a home run, but it was not. Just, no. But it came with this light and fluffy bread ... more please. I might come back if ever visiting Miami, but would stick to the sandwiches. Waiting time for a table might take a little longer than expected. We sat at the counter as the number of actual tables is limited. But turnover is pretty quick, and the counter lends to just more delightful interaction with the excellent staff. No complaints there.
Wow! The exact definition of a perfect hole in the wall spot for cuban coffee and food. They were even cater to the nondairy needs, hence the oat milk in the colada :) I highly recommend checking this cafe out when in Miami.
I was walking by this place and for fun decided to look it up on Yelp, and to my surprise (it looks pretty run down from the outside) it had a 4.5 star rating! Step inside and you are welcomed by a small and cozy dining room in combination with with an open kitchen layout. The prices at this place were the most reasonable I have had in Miami. For mahi mahi with rice beans, plantains and veggies, AND steak with rice/beans plantains and veggies + beverages was only 25 dollars. For all of that food, it's a fantastic deal. The mahi was seasoned nicely but a slight bit over cooked so it was a little dryer than I usually like. The steak also has good flavor but was very chewy! I'm guessing they are not using USDA prime grade beef here :) but it is still pretty good. The presentation of the food is simple. It's just food on a plate, nothing more nothing less. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic about telling us about the menu. If you happen to find yourself in this part of Miami, check this place out if you have a hankering for a mom and pop Cuban restaurant.

As I explore the Downtown Miami area lunch spots I ran across this little place. My initial reviews of the post made me think it didn't have seating and only did sandwiches but to my surprise, they have full meals. My first meal was the Mahi Mahi, white rice and salad. Yum!!!!!! Alex and his mom made sure all of their patron wether regulars or newbies like myself were well cared for. I must say for a freshly cooked, healthy and filling lunch under $10 this place is a good spot. read more

This is a great place to stop in for a quick and cheap bite to eat! Although the restaurant isn't a place for a date night, the food is delicious. I got a breakfast sandwich and a bottled coke for under 10 bucks. It's a win for me. read more
Good sandwich spot in downtown Miami for all the foot traffic. Small spot, so get there before or after the lunch rush to get a good seat. I can only speak for the Big Gus sandwich, but it was delicious. I also had a beef empanada and it was also good... A little greasy, but it's a beef empanada; that's sorta the name of the game. They have smoothies and other Cuban staples, but most of all I was impressed by the very reasonable prices for the very large portions. I'd definitely go back. read more

A small little hole in the wall with the entire kitchen behind the counter. SUPER authentic! The staff is friendly, the food is all prepared FRESH (even my avocado was sliced fresh for my sandwich...YUM), and the flavors are simplistic but phenomenal. I got the chicken club. Ingredients were fresh and piled high--the chicken breast was grilled right in front of me. The potato sticks added some great texture too!!! read more

This seems to be my go to place for Cuban food lately. It is a small place with about five (5) tables and a decent counter. The food is good, fresh, and well prepared. Most importantly Cubans are doing the cooking. The typical dishes are in play but there are a few surprises during the week like fettuccine Alfredo "a lo Cubano". Yes and it runs out it is very good and also runs out 45 minutes after 12, so order early. For those who want to eat healthy they have quite a few selections including the Paleo fad. You can score three full meals for $20 dollars. This establishment is about service and food. Nothing fancy just good Cuban food. They also take the time to remember what you like. read more

I must admit I couldn't help taking a bite out of this delicious sandwich before taking the picture for this review. Atlantis is truly a gem in downtown. You can't beat their prices for the quality of the food. I found this place one day while sick with a cold at work in dire need of a good chicken soup. I went to my so trusted Google and searched for the best chicken soup in downtown Miami. Atlantis cafe was one of the results. The soup is hands down the best I've had from a restaurant/cafe. It consists of a home-made broth, chicken, and veggies; not a container full of noodles which is usually what you get in Miami. I have also had their chicken breast sandwich with tostones as the substitute for buns. This sandwich was out worldly. Atlantis caters to whatever you're needs are. Keep up the good food! read more
The food is 5 stars but service is maybe 3.5. But let's start with service. We had to wait for water while waitress talked to people at next table. Keep in mind it's only maybe 4 tables total. The fuy behind counter was a little rude with our questions as we were 1st time visitors and found them on Yelp while visiting Miami. We walked almost e miles to get there so wasn't leaving as I would regularly. But anyway the food was delish, plentiful and cheap. It's definitely a regulars joint but civility towards newbies appreciated. read more

Came here because of the yelp reviews and i was not disappointed at all. When i walked in the staff were very friendly and kind. My friend and i had already looked online for what we wanted, so we ordered quickly, the Cuban, and the steak club. We decided to have an espresso since it was morning. We split the sandwiches and shared them. The taste was amazing, just great things together. They definitely are authentic here, looks family owned with family recipes, and you can really tell! The espresso was on a different level, not exaggerating, was the best I've had. Please come try this place, you will not regret it! read more

Just ordered delivery from this place as I have been there once before the pandemic and the food was amazing. I was looking for delivery and they popped up so I decided to give them a try. I was really impressed with how quickly the food arrived and it was still piping hot! I hate eating cold food that's supposed to be hot. I ordered croquetas, mahi mahi lunch with rice, black beans and Tostones. My husband ordered the media noche with no pickles. Unfortunately they didn't read the notes and sent the sandwich with the pickles in it. Although the flavor of the pork was delicious he was very disappointed to see the pickles in the sandwich. Even when you pick them out you can still taste them he says. Needless to say he didn't finish his sandwich. I offered him some of my lunch but he had lost his appetite as a result of the pickles. The croquetas were delicious and they sent so many that I was able to share with our two other colleagues in the office. We all agreed they were great! The mahi mahi lunch but especially the black beans lacked flavor. I still ate it because I was hungry and it was already here. I don't think I will be ordering from here again. I do wish them all the best and am happy to have supported them during this perilous time. read more

Whenever i'm in a new town I always try and visit a local place to eat. Every so often I find a gem. I may be a man of simple tastes, but this was hands down the best meal I had while in Miami!! I ordered the New World Steak and Eggs Special and the Palomilla steak had more flavor than many high end steak houses I have been to. Thin and tender it melted in my mouth. The sausage had just the right amount of char to add some crunch to the deliciousness. The Cuban bread is a must but get it toasted and the fries did not disappoint. And the Cafe Con Leche had me wired for the entire day! I highly recommend Atlantis Cafe should you ever find yourself in Miami!! read more

Very good Cuban Sandwich! Game changer is the real pulled pork, not like the regular places that make it with sliced deli pork meat. It was my first time here and the young man behind the counter was extremely nice to make me the sandwich even though I had walked in unknowingly when they had just closed, thanks! If you want to experience incredibly filling and authentic dishes, head on over to Atlantis. I recommend delighting your taste buds with one of the best Cuban sandwiches in town. It seriously had more pork than any other sandwich we ate (and saw) in Miami. The Media Colada was sweetened so perfectly that I had to order 2! The chef and team work efficiently behind an open counter, so you can watch them as they artfully design each meal. Definitely a must if you come to Miami. read more

As our office recently moved to the downtown Miami area, my colleagues and I are exploring the area for good eats. Atlantis Cafe was recommended to us and we decided to give it a try. Now the restaurant from the outside is not indicative of the quality of food cooked and served inside. I had a tostone sandwich with lechon that was out of this world. The pork was perfectly seasoned and cooked, the tostones were crispy as they should be and it was all brought together with some fresh lettuce and tomatoes. This dish was an item from their paleo menu. Yes you heard it right, Cubans serving paleo inspired dishes. This is an authentic mom and pop style restaurant serving good food at great prices, actually owned by a mother and son (who is the chef and a young talent). I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

My boyfriend and I were in Miami a few months ago. This review is way long over due. We had some of the best Cuban food of our entire trip at this place. We both order breakfast and also a sandwich made of tostones and pulled pork that was to die for. We wanted to go back to have more of that delicious food next day but sadly they were closed. I loved my experience at this family owned and operated establishment. Margarita and her son Alejandro offer outstanding service and made me feel instantly at home. My Cuban grandmother and I ordered a palomia steak with rice and black beans and a side of plantains and a steak Cesar salad. Please make sure when they ask if you want the palomia steak with onions you say yes! They are so savory and delicious. The black beans tasted just like the ones my grandparents make at home. Make sure you finish off your meal with their flan for desert. It is the perfect size, not too big and not too small, and tastes very authentic as if it was made in your Cuban grandma's kitchen. It has a wonderful flavor with the right consistency that lets the spoon glide through. For the full experience finish off with a Cuban coffee, get the media colada! Definitely a great spot for a quick bite that doesn't disappoint in quality or service. Update: came back again, and they are CONSISTENTLY amazing. Don't worry if you're on a diet, swap rice for veggies and you won't regret it. read more

OMG I'll be going back to this place soon. Went there for brunch - I had the lechon sandwich on tostones, hubby had the steak sandwich on Cuban bread. We washed it all down with the natural fruit juices they make on demand (no sugar added). The meal made for the best start of the day we could have had! read more

Awesome hole-in-the-wall!!! It's a cozy restaurant near the courthouse, accessible by metromover (one block away from the station, convenient!). Nice selection for both breakfast and lunch. I stopped by for lunch, and the restaurant had many customers (both dining in and taking out). There were only 3 people total taking orders and preparing food/beverages, so it took some time (~10 minutes) to actually order, but I promise it is worth the wait! Staff members were all very friendly. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and shake. You are permitted to mix flavors for the shake, so I got a blend of mango, guanabana, and strawberry. My order also came with a side of chips. My sandwich and shake were DELICIOUS and very filling! And you really can't beat these prices. I will definitely return if I am in the area! Note: They have delivery, so you can consider that if you want to skip the line! read more
