I brought the frames in and Cheryl agreed to have a go with it. Happily, she got it done and done beautifully. She is obviously a highly skilled craftswoman and artist. While in her shop it was unavoidable to see her current work on display. Being every watchful for jewelry for my sweetheart, I poured over the displays and found a ring like one that she had decades ago that had been lost. Turns out that Cheryl had a mold for that ring and agreed to cast a new ring for me to my specifications that I am now eagerly waiting to see. Cheryl and her work are a real find, well, she wasn't lost, I'm just late to the party ;)

We are frequent shoppers of Brooks Brothers (Main store, outlet, and online) from casual wear to full blown suits/ formal wear. We've spent a lot of money over the years and to be treated like a second class citizen was very uncomfortable. Upon arrival we were not greeted- fine, not a big deal. We picked out shirts and I watched as their staff (man and woman) went to each person on the floor to offer them assistance. We just received a glance, not even a smile. We have thick skin, maybe they were just having a bad day. We just moved along on our shopping mission and my husband tried on some clothes. We had a few shirts for my husband that we wanted to check out with. We went to the register counter where a gentleman was standing and whom we presumed was the manager, to check out. We had to ask for assistance at this point. "Hi! Are we able to check out here?!" The gentleman looked up avoiding eye contact and said it'll just be a minute, held up a finger and someone would help us. No big deal, figured he needed someone to ring us up on the register and wasn't capable at that moment. There was a female employee folding clothes on a off to the side of the checkout area, who did look up but continued doing was she was doing. So we stood there and watched the gentleman (using that term loosely) gesture over to an older couple and their young adult college aged child (who were farther away from where we were looking at items) asked them if they were ready to check out and had them come over in front of us. This employee made a judgement call on who he wanted to provide customer service to. I overhead their interaction and one of the first things the employee, manager stated to this family was "you look like someone who's shopped here before" when referencing an account in their system. That's the problem, this employee is making a call based off their own judgement. At this point the female employee comes over and asks if we're ready. I was firm with my reply in stating, "yes, we have been". After I was trying to make small talk with her she was dazed and not replying. It was uncomfortable awkwardness, didn't ask us if we found everything okay, and the real kicker... didn't even bother to ask if we were in the system. She states the total, I put my card into the point of sale machine and state "ya know... I am in the system and have an account here". All flustered, she cancels the transaction and goes "ohh ohh uhhh okay". I provide her with my info to which she replies that there is $25 on the account and asked if I would like to use it. I replied with "yes". This would have been a perfect opportunity for an apology and turn our experience around to make things right. That wasn't the case. I tried to go back to small talk but she ignored me and proceeded to chat with the male employee about how there were a few tuxedo sales that day. I looked at my husband in disbelief, I was fuming inside at this point. She handed us the bag, over the counter. I have shopped in this location enough to know that they usually walk it around the counter and hand it to you. There was no thank you on their end, no have a nice day. In fact nothing except the look of pure disgust on her face. I took the bag, looked at my husband, then back to her and reluctantly said "thank you". No response. So I said "I hope you have the day you deserve" as I walked toward the exit. Here's our advice for The Freeport, Maine Brooks Brothers Outlet team- DO BETTER and HAVE SOME CLASS! Maybe take a course on customer service, maybe wash away the judgmental attitude. I don't typically leave reviews based off of a negative experience as I understand everyone has an "off" day- however, the fact that they blatantly chose to be kind to some people and not others is baffling. You never know who a customer/ client may know in corporate and what information can be passed on with a quick phone call. So please ALWAYS treat your customers/clients with respect and kindness, regardless of who they are- kindness goes a long way! We hope you take the time to read this long review and make the necessary changes to ensure this doesn't happen to other customers/clients.

We called to check on the bell and first were told the girl who could work on it didn't come in until 10 one morning and they would call us with an update. I'm sure there was some confusion with myself calling and my husband being the person they called back however, after we called to check again on the bell, we were told that they engraved it, didn't like how it came out, buffed it, and would be re-engraving it. Once again, when we called to check on it, we were told that the girl that did engraving didn't work on Mondays. Then, next thing we know, they are telling us they can no longer engrave it. I understand that unpredictable situations occur and perhaps my perception of the experience is a bit different, but we were told they could do something and then after apparently doing work, could no longer perform the service requested. It just felt a bit off... everyone was friendly when we would call so nothing against the employees, just ended up being a situation that set us back on this project (a gift) a few weeks longer than we would have liked and just seemed like we were being given false information.

They were less than half of what was paid when purchased and with the the authenticity paperwork showing it was a numbered Hearts on fire cut, perfect cut, perfect clarity. Looking at the paperwork for the rings all four papers were exactly the same wording with the appraisal price typed in. The rings were four completely different rings. There was no description of any of the rings beside size. I got them reappraised by two other places after, with them coming out higher than purchased price, and the two other places matched each other. My point.... Don't spend the money to appraise them there and don't believe them especially if you want to sell them to them!

When I said I just wanted to let someone know in case the victim came inside and could she tell them that I called the police and gave them the person's license plate, the employee asked me if I wanted her to call a manager out. I was just really put off by that as this is the first point of contact for people entering the store and I just genuinely wanted to try and help. We did spend some time in the store and in the compound. I like that they have an entire section where you can customize products and gifts and have them embroidered. I haven't seen that before and I thought it was really neat. I didn't care for any of the products that they were offering at that time which qualified for the embroidery, but if that's something you're looking for, they offer it here. They also had dog items and the store is dog friendly. We brought our pup in with us but again she just didn't find any toys that were the right size or that she was interested in. The trip here was kind of a bust for us but I can see why some people might enjoy shopping here. We were told by another traveler that this is a great place to stop for deals, but I didn't see many of those either. There's a campus comprised of multiple buildings and that was a bit confusing. It also seems like it would be easier just to have everything under one roof, but that's just me personally.

Things were organized by category, like, Pets, Grocery, toys, hardware etc. One thing that I was impressed by, was the hardware section, which was to the right and it was in it's own building. There were seasonal offerings, as we visited around Christmas time. I was able to find some fun stocking stuffers. They were decent prices. I found the pet supplies - they definitely favor dogs more than other animals. A lot of the bigger ticket items, seemed to have damage and or no packaging. While this location is small they do pack it in. Loads of good finds for outdoor entertaining/outings (pool floats, coolers, drink cuzies), tons of cleaning supplies, kitchen towels and wares and more. My shopping companion was elated to find so many J. Jill dresses, shirts, and shoes. Seriously she purchased a few shirts and a dress for less than $15 each - total steal. And don't let me forget the candy! So many candies, some I'd never even heard of before. While I didn't find what I was looking for I did have fun digging for treasures.

Walked out with some fantastic additions to my wardrobe. Racks upon racks to peruse. Everything seemed to be organized by color and type (even the housewares section!). By size would have been ideal as well but I guess finding something that draws your eye is made that much more exciting when you find it is your size as well. I went with the intent of just browsing but left with several new pairs of workout leggings and a dress for that evening. The dress (pictured) cost only $4.50!!! What!! The staff were very helpful and they seemed to have plenty of hands on deck for the sale. People manning the changing area and working the registers kept the flow of patrons moving. The rows between the racks were a bit narrow but people were generally accommodating and made room for each other. With some time and patience, you can score some bargains here. Lots of brand names. Clothing seemed to be in decent shape.
