An amazing small business. I've played guitar for over 50 years. I have frequented MANY guitar shops. Some were good. Some were horrid. I went to one, recently, where the proprietor, a sullen unfriendly guy, sat behind the counter, reading a book, and barely acknowledged me. He acted like answering my questions, about a drum throne, was way too much effort for him. In contrast, the first time I entered Dube's Music, in Freeport, I was met with a smiling, enthusiastic owner, Tom Dube, who made me feel like I was almost an old friend! I have taken many of my guitars to Dube's for repairs and general maintenance, since, and I like the place A LOT. I stop in every once in a while, as I live in Freeport, and Tom always takes the time to talk with me (Unless he's giving a lesson, of course). He's a very good player on a variety of instruments, and his lessons are reasonably priced. When I see the few bad reviews, I can't help but think that these people are reviewing the wrong business! read more
