Either way, I tore a hole in my ceiling, found what I thought was a leak from the roof, and called these guys out to see if they could fix it. Up onto the roof they go 4 hours later, and what do they find? A window that has been open in the spare room since I bought my house. Turns out, the wind had blown so hard that it had gotten into the window, into my spare room, and dripped through the floor boards. Yes they laughed at me, but who wouldn't? They shut the window and caulked around it free of charge since the caulking was showing signs of wear and tear.

I called to inquire and Nikki in the office was very helpful. She scheduled an evaluation for the same week, so they could give us an estimate. Tom arrived on time for the estimate and was very knowledgeable and patient explaining what our options were. He ordered an aerial report which we got to keep a copy of-- very helpful. And this was before we had even signed off on the job! On the day the job was scheduled to start there were threats of heavy rain. Despite this, the team was on site early in case there was an opportunity to start. However, the heavy rains pushed the work back to the next day. They began work at 7am and worked for the next 15 hours to take advantage of the clear weather! The house was nearly finished in one day, with the remainder and the garage on second day, all in time for the next big rain storm. We are very pleased with the work, and with the follow-up; both Tom and the foreman Ralph have been in touch since finishing to make sure we were satisfied with the work. I would definitely recommend them, and plan to use them when we replace our windows in the next year or two.

Weird but fine, if the text etiquette is on point. His was a mess. He asks me to take pictures inside and out, of the windows. Ok sure, but I'm one town over and you could just pop by. He asks what I want, I say picture windows. He sends me a picture of double hang and says he recommends them. Don't need them. Then he just TEXTS me a price range. Red flag. Where's your quote with the type of door being used? Also, the number is high. I ask for the SKU to look it up on my own. He sends me a generic link to an affiliate landing page for DOUBLE HUNG DOORS. Ok, so here's where you have to use your best judgement. These guys have great ratings on multiple pages, so they obviously do excellent installs. But that doesn't mean they aren't ripping people off, because you can get similar work done for MUCH cheaper. That's where I got him, bc he wasn't willing to disclose where his range was coming from and then immediately tried to pass me off to Renweal by Anderson, which is widely known as THE biggest price-hike in the game. The safe bet with them is whatever they quote you initially is about double what it should actually cost. So it makes sense the owner thought it's a reasonable peer in the industry. Then he weirdly started text-harassing me when I passed on his offer. Piss off.

After requesting a quote online, Paul followed up quickly via text and we scheduled a consult for the very next morning. Paul and his son were an absolute pleasure to work with. They clearly understood our situation--we just needed to get the house in good shape to sell--and never once tried to upsell us. In an age where so many companies subcontract everything out, it was incredibly refreshing to work directly with a father-and-son team who clearly take pride in their work. We even spent some time swapping stories about great rock 'n' roll shows we've seen. On their way out, I asked if we could quickly borrow their measuring tape to check the size of a missing piece of siding, since we planned to try fixing it ourselves. Without hesitation, they offered to take care of it when they came back to install the windows. That generosity alone meant so much and took one more thing off our very full to-do list. A few weeks later, the windows arrived and were installed without issue--and they absolutely added value to the house. But the story doesn't end there. Less than a week before closing, we discovered another piece of siding that needed repair. I texted Paul to see if they might be able to fix it or recommend someone, fully expecting to pay.
