Review of expert diagnosis and treatment of knee injury by Dr. Edward Lambert at OrthoVirginia on…read moreFirst Colonial in Va Beach. Dr. Lambert took great care in examining my injured knee, withdrawing fluid (62cc), ordering an MRI, analyzing those results, providing expert diagnosis and providing a treatment plan. Couldn't be happier with the medical care and service. My knee is healing well and I am back to running - short segments - and I believe I will return to full abilities (for a guy 71! haha) in the next month or so. For a little background, a previous doctor at a different practice ordered an X-ray, did a brief examination, told me it was useless to drain the fluid, gave me a cortisone shot and told me I'd be lucky if that helped for 6 months and that he'd see me in 6 months to talk knee replacement. My running friends said, "Go see Dr. Lambert." As noted above, Dr. Lambert went the extra mile and the MRI results showed there was nothing torn - not MCL, not ACL, not meniscus - thus no surgery was required, but that I did come dangerously close to doing so and should slowly rehab my knee according to his tried-and-true Walk To Run Program and I should regain full use, range of motion and ability within a month or two. That's huge difference! Huge! If you're a runner, you know.

I had a small problem with the brace rubbing on my incision and they made room to add extra padding the morning I called. It was only my second time there and everyone remembered me! They have a great team there. They all work together for the good of the patient. Definitely recommend.

After seeing an Orthopedic Surgeon it was suggested that I try physical therapy first before any surgery. So I looked up several ones that were suggested to me. After reaching out to a few, I was able to get set up with IN Motion. I couldn't be happier with the results I had there. Everyone was extremely nice and thoughtful in their care for me. I got the best therapist in Patrick. He cared about how I felt mentally as well as physically. I was in therapy for two months. I can say that with the guidance and direction they gave me, I can now move forward to an active life once again. It was a knee injury. A torn ACL. So it was something I really had to work on. So luckily the therapy I received has given me options outside of surgery. With their upmost care and consideration, there is life after injury. I would recommend IN Motion to anyone trying to come back from injury. They were the VERY BEST for me!!!! Cheryl Talbot, Realtor

I was referred to PT by my orthopedic doctor for plantar fasciitis. Not knowing my case was severe…read moresince I have suffered for over a year with PF, In-Motion worked as hard as possible with me to rid me of my pain. I worked in and out with their exercises at home along with wearing my night boot (on both feet) as well as doing my daily stretches. Unfortunately nothing really worked. Why the 5 stars? The people who work there are incredible. Patrick, Megan, Cindy and Beth are awesome and wonderful people who truly have a passion for their jobs. I will also say they give some killer deep tissue massages when I needed it the most. They always found ways to make sure my pain was relieved even if it was temporary. I would say if you need help then don't wait as long as I did to go to PT and I'm prettier sure I would've had better results. If I had to go back; I would still go see them.

I can't say enough awesome about Dr. Barr and staff. With a recent change of address and…read morereconfigured practice on her own it's even better. The location is beside Aldi's and across from Bank of America. Surface parking is close to the door. The lot was debris free on my first visit to their new office. The lobby was clean and a short walk to the elevator to take the second floor. The small waiting room is comfortable and does not feel like a traditional doctors office in a good way. I could tell Dr. Barr had her loving hands involved in decorating. Treats and reading material are on the table. The environment was relaxed and calm. The check-in process was immediate with no effort because they knew me and had my name down before I could utter a word. With the change all my paperwork had to be completed again which was the only thing not pleasant. Mailing out the forms in advance could be an option. The wait time to be called back for my appointment with NP Morgan was less than 10 minutes. It was the first time meeting her as she is newer to the practice after the Winter 2018 move. Not surprising that she was hand picked by Dr. Barr and had an incredible bed side manner. We hit it off immediately. I have been a patient of Dr. Barr for almost 10 years and would absolutely recommend her and feel blessed if your insurance accepts. Dr. Barr is what I would call an anomaly in today's world of medicine. What's different, she actually wants to know you, your family and deeply cares about your wellbeing and future. Today's visit felt more like visiting an old friend with their new space and fresh concept to care. If you have a need for a pain management physician I could not be more happy than to insist you call Barr Center.

Waiting times for me were in excess of an hour, and way past my appointment time. This is named, Barr Center for Innovative Pain Management, and as such you should be aware most things they suggest to you you will NOT be covered by your insurance. Special vitamins+ supplements , CBD items, and even the medication they prescribed me. I was asked if I had mental health issues, and given a business card for a hypnotist to work on them. When I expressed no interest in this i was assured that he is cash only and works outside of the medical system. Yikes. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Direct Performance was able to see me quickly thankfully. Dr. Rud was able to get me back on track in just a matter of a week with exercises and dry needling. I was able complete the half marathon with minimal residual pain. He provided further care afterwards and now my hip feels as good as new. Everyone is very professional and nice, and the care is affordable. The facilities have everything needed. You are in great hands with Direct Performance!

Could I be more thankful for Direct Performance?…read more I started running 5 years ago and have visited Direct Performance for small group training, physical therapy, and massage therapy. My most recent visit was for massage therapy, right before the stay at home order was issued. Even before things were mandated, DP started enforcing new policies to best protect their staff and visitors. My massage was with Rachel K. This is not the person who is going to massage you to sleep and put you in a relaxed state of mind. This is the person who is going to give your exhausted and worked muscles the attention they need. It's a true sports massage and a real treat for your body. My experience with physical therapy here was great! Brian helped me through an issue with my calf using a combination of dry needling and physical therapy. They are now offering telehealth appointments which is great in our current situation. Thanks for everything Direct Performance!
