I was in the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) for about 14 total weeks. I started virtual, then…read morelost insurance and had to put a pause on the program. When I came back I completed the full 12 week program. This is the best program by far that I have done. I have been in and out of VB psych for years, but this program has done a world of justice for me. While in the program I got help with my job options because they have an academic/vocational advisor to talk to. I also got to participate in family groups, which no other program has offered for me. My family got to come with me to learn how they can be a support, but also to dig deeper into how up bringing plays a large role into mental health and coping skills. When searching for a place to go I wanted a place where I didnt have to see their med doctor because to many cooks in the kitchen is not a good thing. Sandstone allowed me to get just what I needed, which was therapy because I have a med doctor already and a therapist; however, I needed more therapy then just individual. Never have I considered that childhood plays a vital role in my current ways of coping, and this program helped me dive into that. They have been supportive all the way. Never was I ignored or went unheard. I got individual therapy as well during this besides just group and family. The best part is after I graduate there is an alumni program. The care doesnt stop at outpatient. The care continues for support with Sandstone family through the app where there are support groups, game nights, check ins, and a community who has been there and done that. When I say Sandstone is the absolute best care I have had, I mean it. I could not express my gratitude and amazement. I have bragged about them to everyone I know. The therapists actually care and are not there for just a check. My post does not even express how much they have done for me, but its amazing that they have so many programs. Its unheard of having a young adult group, and that was perfect for me. Everything from adolescent to adult is covered here. The young adult group provided such insight for me and relativity with people my own age.

My husband was transferred to Bayside after being in ICU and step-down for over a week following a…read morehemorrhagic stroke. He could only eat a mechanical diet (finely chopped foods) or pureed food, but he was receiving the same type food as everyone else (which was a choking hazard). His liquids were supposed to be without ice and thickened using a thickener (I provided some packets), but they brought him ice water to drink (another choking hazard). I would point this out each time they brought his food and/or drink wrong, and I would get "Not my job" or "Not my problem". At the end of the third day, I had heard those two statements over 16 times (I stopped counting at that point). It was four days before I spoke with anyone other than the CNAs, Nurses, other medical staff, and housekeeping (they were the nicest). None of the medical staff identified the role or advised if they were a nurse, CNA, volunteer, etc., with the exception of the CNA the first night - it was her first day on the job and her third day after completing her training. I watched as patients rang for assistance, and saw that for some it took well over an hour for a response (medical staff were at the central desk, most of them talking not working). The gentleman my husband was sharing a room with rang for help getting to the restroom, and after over 75 minutes someone (nurse or CNA) came in and when she found he had wet himself chewed him out for not waiting!!! Then she said it wasn't her job to clearn him up!!! He was supposed to have daily physical and occupational therapy as well as speech therapy. In the six days he was there, he had a single session of speech therapy and approximately 60 minutes of physical therapy. We started working on getting him transferred, and were fortunate to find a bed at Lake Taylor, but getting him discharged from Bayside was another problem. Lake Taylor had a bed ready for him on Tuesday, and they had sent their paperwork to the person "in charge" of transfers, but she did not return any of my calls or messages. By Friday of that week, I had arranged for medical transportation to take him to Lake Taylor that afternoon. After he was on the gurney and ready to be moved, a woman came running down the hall saying "I forbid him to leave". She was the person I had been trying to get all week. Long story short (too late), I gave her 5 minutes to provide me with the needed paperwork, or the gentlemen with the gurney were leaving with my husband and taking him to Lake Taylor. We left in about 4 minutes and 47 seconds. He has been at Lake Taylor for about a month and a half, physical and occupational therapy 5-6 days/week and some days more than once, his has finished speech therapy, and is improving. The difference between Bayside and Lake Taylor wasn't night and day, it was 2 miles down in a coal mine and day. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!!!!

HORRIBLE! I'd give negative stars if I could. PLEASE do NOT let your loved ones stay here. Their customer service, attention to detail, level of care and honestly they even greet you with a smile when you walk in. They go out of their way to ensure that you get the best level of care by listening to your complaint, asking you question to try to "pinpoint" the problem, doing a thorough exam (which unfortunately can be painful sometimes - just a PT thing I think), and then prior to you doing your "regiment" which they match to your issue explain the thoughts behind it as needed. I, unfortunately, have been a somewhat frequent flyer, here as of recent and they have always been nothing but excellent all around. This particular branch is the only one I been too and the only one I will go too. If the other branches are like this Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy is definitely the place to go!! SPT Southeastern Physical Therapy (Haygood)…read more My Experience . After seeing a series of specialists for almost two years, while attempting to find relief and or a diagnosis for my ongoing and increasing symptoms, my PCP referred me to Southeastern Physical Therapy Haygood-- Major Improvements! Major. Major. After only two (2) weeks. The first day, I was greeted by name with a warm smiling welcome from Shamecia at the front desk. Check-in and paperwork were handled with ease, care, and professionalism. That set the tone. Maricel, my Physical Therapist and the Clinic Director, is Totally Awesome! Absolutely. Amazing. She listened carefully to my litany of symptoms and asked important questions. She "got it"-- She understood, immediately, the stress of, daily, feeling helpless to make sense of increasing discomfort and pain. For a full year plus, I have consulted specialists: had scans, tests, x-rays, prescriptions...without a clear explanation for my ongoing, increasing, symptoms. I really believed ever-decreasing mobility was simply my new normal-- And the most I could hope for in keeping this appointment would be to learn to limp less and to better cover my distress. I don't believe that anymore. Nope. There is, definitely, something that I can do to restore my mobility and well-being. Maricel is a consummate professional, knowledgeable, skillful, resourceful, warm, and genuinely caring. She treats you as a whole person. The first session, she carefully assessed my gait and range of motion and outlined a personal plan of treatment. It is tailored specifically to getting me back to my fit level of mobility--without meds--or the frustrating discomfort and pain of the past year plus. She assured me, as I progressed, my plan would continue to be tweaked to reflect my changing needs. I was not alone. Her confidence in my body's ability to make the needed corrections is joyfully contagious! When I say there was Significant Physical Relief after my first session--just know, I smiled like an idiot all the way home. I am still smiling. Chris, my Physical Therapist Technician, is Great! He has a great sense of humor, is professional, knowledgeable, and has a great way of explaining and demonstrating new exercises. He is unhurried and always encouraging. He makes the exercises actually enjoyable. Each modality is explained with clarity and adjusted to meet my fitness goals and current level of ability. The treatment space at SPT Haygood is comfortable, clean, attractive, well-kept, and bright with natural light. At my second session, Maricel confirmed and more fully explained the underlying causes of my symptoms--and created a treatment plan for me that is working ~ Beautifully. The at-home exercises, for outside of my scheduled sessions, are effective, empowering, and immediate morale raisers. The staff at Southeastern Physical Therapy (SPT) Haygood is Committed, Professional, Knowledgeable, Caring, and Kind. The overall positive atmosphere -- lifts my spirits -- as I restore my body to optimal function. I was helped more in one session at SPT Haygood than I was able to achieve in well over a year of seeing other professional medical specialists. Southeastern Physical Therapy Haygood gets Highest Recommendations! ~It Works! : ) Thank You! - does not fully express my feeling of Gratitude. Best Regards, 18 January 2017

This place is horrific. I hate the fact that my grandfather spent his last years here, but with the difficulty of finding good nursing homes, I opted for one only minutes from home. This place is atrocious. I complained to the state ombudsman a few times but he was useless. Had to call the police when I found out they found my 97 yo with dementia outside laying on the shrubs. I didn't find out until the evening. When I called the police, even they were infuriated with the lack of care and answers they received from the staff. Food? NON EXISTENT. If you care for your loved one, stop by for dinner and check out their plates with cold vegetables. Lack of food, cold food, laundry that sits around urinated until you fight and complain. Have you tried calling after 630 pm to reach your loved one? Good luck. What about visiting after 6pm and the door wide open with NO ONE at the desk. Anyone can walk in there at night. Don't believe it? Test my theories for yourself. Sadly it doesn't matter if you complain to the city, their inspectors do the very minimal when it comes to nursing homes. This place needs to close and so does its parent company that manages over 14 nursing homes. It's a money business that's all. To add insult to injury - did you know that they charge Medicare and Medicaid nearly $13,000 a month for this tragedy? Worth it if they were providing the care - not for what they are providing. One night nurse for 20 patients ?? (I'm sure they will deny it now). Our seniors deserve better than this. Princess Anne could care less. With over $35,000 in federal fines, countless complaints, multiple citations for neglect, poor supervision, and repeated failures to correct the issues. The physical and occupational therapy department was great! No complaints with any of their staff and one of the Unit Managers who tried to address our concerns. The majority of the nursing staff we encountered were uncaring and unprofessional. The food was horrendous, inconsistent and visually disgusting. I brought my mother food every day because it was that bad. The Huddle House (walking distance from facility) staff were well aware of the bad food because they do a large volume of to-go orders for patients. Mom's medications were not given to her in a timely manner, showers were not given on schedule, mom was told by a staff member they would not be at her beck and call and if she needed help, to call a family member. My sister and I were at the facility daily, several times a day checking on mom, calling out the staff to ensure care was given, etc. I feel terrible for patients who do not have families or loved ones advocating for them. One of the LPN's (who is a retired veteran) was printing off discharge paperwork which was incomplete. He said to me, "this is why I don't like working with civilians." WHO SAYS THIS TO A PATIENT'S FAMILY MEMBER? So unprofessional!!! The facility does not supply tissues, wipes, and similar items which surprised us. Mom's shower had a terrible leak and the water on the floor was a huge fall risk for her. It was never fixed in the 4-5 weeks she was there. The staff just through towels on the wet floor. This demonstrates the facility does not care about patient safety. I don't know how this facility keeps their license and it is no wonder they are understaffed as it is a horrible place. If you care about your loved ones, do not place them at Princess Anne Health and Rehabilitation Center. If I could give them negative stars, I would.
