Review of expert diagnosis and treatment of knee injury by Dr. Edward Lambert at OrthoVirginia on…read moreFirst Colonial in Va Beach. Dr. Lambert took great care in examining my injured knee, withdrawing fluid (62cc), ordering an MRI, analyzing those results, providing expert diagnosis and providing a treatment plan. Couldn't be happier with the medical care and service. My knee is healing well and I am back to running - short segments - and I believe I will return to full abilities (for a guy 71! haha) in the next month or so. For a little background, a previous doctor at a different practice ordered an X-ray, did a brief examination, told me it was useless to drain the fluid, gave me a cortisone shot and told me I'd be lucky if that helped for 6 months and that he'd see me in 6 months to talk knee replacement. My running friends said, "Go see Dr. Lambert." As noted above, Dr. Lambert went the extra mile and the MRI results showed there was nothing torn - not MCL, not ACL, not meniscus - thus no surgery was required, but that I did come dangerously close to doing so and should slowly rehab my knee according to his tried-and-true Walk To Run Program and I should regain full use, range of motion and ability within a month or two. That's huge difference! Huge! If you're a runner, you know.

I've been a patient of this practice for knee issues in the past. However, my provider retired…read more This review is specifically for Dr. Edward Lambert. Dr. Lambert as a knee specialist was recommended. He has an amazing bedside manner and was very easy to talk to. He provided a great exam and explanation of my xray and steps moving forward with PT. Will definitely recommend Dr. Lambert to my large network of friends.

After seeing an Orthopedic Surgeon it was suggested that I try physical therapy first before any surgery. So I looked up several ones that were suggested to me. After reaching out to a few, I was able to get set up with IN Motion. I couldn't be happier with the results I had there. Everyone was extremely nice and thoughtful in their care for me. I got the best therapist in Patrick. He cared about how I felt mentally as well as physically. I was in therapy for two months. I can say that with the guidance and direction they gave me, I can now move forward to an active life once again. It was a knee injury. A torn ACL. So it was something I really had to work on. So luckily the therapy I received has given me options outside of surgery. With their upmost care and consideration, there is life after injury. I would recommend IN Motion to anyone trying to come back from injury. They were the VERY BEST for me!!!! Cheryl Talbot, Realtor

I worked in and out with their exercises at home along with wearing my night boot (on both feet) as well as doing my daily stretches. Unfortunately nothing really worked. Why the 5 stars? The people who work there are incredible. Patrick, Megan, Cindy and Beth are awesome and wonderful people who truly have a passion for their jobs. I will also say they give some killer deep tissue massages when I needed it the most. They always found ways to make sure my pain was relieved even if it was temporary. I would say if you need help then don't wait as long as I did to go to PT and I'm prettier sure I would've had better results. If I had to go back; I would still go see them.

The location is beside Aldi's and across from Bank of America. Surface parking is close to the door. The lot was debris free on my first visit to their new office. The lobby was clean and a short walk to the elevator to take the second floor. The small waiting room is comfortable and does not feel like a traditional doctors office in a good way. I could tell Dr. Barr had her loving hands involved in decorating. Treats and reading material are on the table. The environment was relaxed and calm. The check-in process was immediate with no effort because they knew me and had my name down before I could utter a word. With the change all my paperwork had to be completed again which was the only thing not pleasant. Mailing out the forms in advance could be an option. The wait time to be called back for my appointment with NP Morgan was less than 10 minutes. It was the first time meeting her as she is newer to the practice after the Winter 2018 move. Not surprising that she was hand picked by Dr. Barr and had an incredible bed side manner. We hit it off immediately. I have been a patient of Dr. Barr for almost 10 years and would absolutely recommend her and feel blessed if your insurance accepts. Dr. Barr is what I would call an anomaly in today's world of medicine. What's different, she actually wants to know you, your family and deeply cares about your wellbeing and future. Today's visit felt more like visiting an old friend with their new space and fresh concept to care. If you have a need for a pain management physician I could not be more happy than to insist you call Barr Center.

My most recent visit was for massage therapy, right before the stay at home order was issued. Even before things were mandated, DP started enforcing new policies to best protect their staff and visitors. My massage was with Rachel K. This is not the person who is going to massage you to sleep and put you in a relaxed state of mind. This is the person who is going to give your exhausted and worked muscles the attention they need. It's a true sports massage and a real treat for your body. My experience with physical therapy here was great! Brian helped me through an issue with my calf using a combination of dry needling and physical therapy. They are now offering telehealth appointments which is great in our current situation. However, I'm not familiar with apothecary so that could be why. Based on the description I decided to book the Craniosacral Therapy 60 min. Honestly, I did not know what I was booking. I thought it was a head massage but it was not. Although it was not what I expected, it was exactly what I needed. Over this past year, I have been going through a lot mentally and the Craniosacral Therapy really helped me release the stress and negativity I was bottling in. I cried a lot! When I walked out of that room, I felt extremely light as if I left all my stress in that room. Miranda was my therapist, and probably one of the best human beings I have ever met. She read my mind, she knew what I was feeling. She really helped me through my emotions. It was an incredible experience to work on my inner body. The atmosphere is extremely peaceful, beautifully decorated, and smells so good. The staff members are very pleasant. I did not get pushed into any commitment which kept the experience good for me. Looking over their services and packages, they're priced pretty reasonable compared to other local places. I had such a great experience I will come back often.

I regularly get deep tissue massages & was excited to get one for my birthday. The inside of this establishment looks much better than the outside. It is warm, welcoming, calming & clean just like a spa. They opened at 9am, my appt was scheduled for 9:15am. I was asked to choose my essential oil for my appt, then guided to sit in the waiting area. There are a set of mugs & the option to choose water or tea while I waited. Their restroom is beautiful & clean! Definitely gives spa vibes. My therapist walked into the building at 9:15am, which was inconvenient. She called me into my designated room, introduced herself by telling me her name then asked the standard questions (What is the goal of your appt today? What areas are we focusing on? Are there any areas to avoid? etc.) To be completely honest, She seemed a bit disengaged & I didn't really feel welcomed so I was a bit worried about how my session would go. Next, she stepped out the room to give me time to undress then came back a few minutes later. She started off very gentle in the beginning similar to a Swedish massage. After a few minutes passed she asked if the pressure was ok. Since I booked a deep tissue, I asked her to go deeper, she said ok but the pressure remained the same. I asked her again to go deeper, she said ok again and applied slightly more pressure. Again, I kindly told her to go even deeper. She said ok and more pressure was applied. I felt like I was bothering her/asking too much, so I didn't bother to ask her again to go deeper. I just wanted to get the service that I was paying for especially because it was my birthday so I was trying to have a relaxing day. After my session was finished, she stepped out & I was given time to get dressed. She met me outside of the door and gave me a cup of water. She then went over an after care plan that was basically suggestions to drink plenty of water & advice on how to loosen up my tight muscles by stretching. Overall it was a decent massage but I didn't appreciate the late arrival to my appt & the deep tissue experience.
