Beautiful space. Calming waiting area separated from foyer. The space was fantastic. Massage was average. I asked for deep pressure and indicated tension in two areas. Neither was addressed and pressure was light-medium at best. Arms and legs got a lot of attention but my arms and legs did not need attention. Somewhat relaxing for what it was but not what I asked for or feel like I paid for. Therapist also stopped a few times as if distracted. I almost asked if she was ok, then she came back to life and kept going. It was odd. Is that some energy healing modality? Products for sale were very scented, which I am sensitive to but massage used scent free products. Thank you. I'd try another service or different therapist with a specific therapeutic deep tissue or Thai massage focus. Maybe book more days in advance. The space is fantastic. read more

My husband booked a deep tissue massage for me for my birthday. We were just visiting so our friend referred this place to us. I regularly get deep tissue massages & was excited to get one for my birthday. The inside of this establishment looks much better than the outside. It is warm, welcoming, calming & clean just like a spa. They opened at 9am, my appt was scheduled for 9:15am. I was asked to choose my essential oil for my appt, then guided to sit in the waiting area. There are a set of mugs & the option to choose water or tea while I waited. Their restroom is beautiful & clean! Definitely gives spa vibes. My therapist walked into the building at 9:15am, which was inconvenient. She called me into my designated room, introduced herself by telling me her name then asked the standard questions (What is the goal of your appt today? What areas are we focusing on? Are there any areas to avoid? etc.) To be completely honest, She seemed a bit disengaged & I didn't really feel welcomed so I was a bit worried about how my session would go. Next, she stepped out the room to give me time to undress then came back a few minutes later. She started off very gentle in the beginning similar to a Swedish massage. After a few minutes passed she asked if the pressure was ok. Since I booked a deep tissue, I asked her to go deeper, she said ok but the pressure remained the same. I asked her again to go deeper, she said ok again and applied slightly more pressure. Again, I kindly told her to go even deeper. She said ok and more pressure was applied. I felt like I was bothering her/asking too much, so I didn't bother to ask her again to go deeper. I just wanted to get the service that I was paying for especially because it was my birthday so I was trying to have a relaxing day. After my session was finished, she stepped out & I was given time to get dressed. She met me outside of the door and gave me a cup of water. She then went over an after care plan that was basically suggestions to drink plenty of water & advice on how to loosen up my tight muscles by stretching. Overall it was a decent massage but I didn't appreciate the late arrival to my appt & the deep tissue experience. read more

Sports massage was not anywhere near as described and no follow up from managers after noting my concern that I didn't receive the service as described. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. But that's where the good experience ended. I noted I wanted firm pressure on my intake form and confirmed with the masseuse that's what I wanted for my sports massage. I am no stranger to massages. I asked her to focus on my neck, upper traps, and lower back/SI joint. She spent more than half the hour on my arms and legs. The pressure was all over the place. Weird hand motions and more therapeutic feeling. Then she drilled hard onto my IT bands and calves. They were sore for a few days after. I was expecting similar pressure in the areas I asked. But nothing. No pressure or trigger point work AT ALL. By the time I thought to ask for more pressure (because she never asked if the pressure was ok), the massage was over. I was really frustrated because I was really needing some relief on my neck and traps. I paid and tipped but also let the receptionist know I was really let down. She said she would let the manager know. I then left a note via the survey link they sent out with the same feedback. I heard nothing back. So a few days later I called and spoke with the manager. She said they appreciated the feedback and that her or the owner would call me back within a day or two to discuss the best way to rectify the situation. I still haven't heard anything so I don't think I'll be back. Disappointing when you look to a service to provide relief from chronic pain. read more

I was gifted a $100 gift card so I decided on a 60 min massage. I booked a signature therapeutic massage for mid-afternoon on Thursday. Finding Rooted Method was just a touch difficult if you've never been to this particular plaza. They are nestled between a couple other businesses, I drove right past, but the front desk staff kindly guided me to the spa over the phone. The aroma of amber and something I can't quite put my nose on greet you, as well as the smiling faces of the staff. If you are a newbie like I was, go ahead and check in on the iPad instead of alerting the front desk staff of your arrival. After a short wait, I was greeted by Christine, unfortunately she greeted me by the wrong name so I was a bit confused, but she made me comfortable when she returned to start my massage. Christine was great at giving extra attention to my shoulders and back as requested. The medium pressure was great and the temp in the room was just right. I came across Rooted Method on instagram. Looking through their website I was really overwhelmed with the amount of services and packages they offer. However, I'm not familiar with apothecary so that could be why. Based on the description I decided to book the Craniosacral Therapy 60 min. Honestly, I did not know what I was booking. I thought it was a head massage but it was not. Although it was not what I expected, it was exactly what I needed. Over this past year, I have been going through a lot mentally and the Craniosacral Therapy really helped me release the stress and negativity I was bottling in. I cried a lot! When I walked out of that room, I felt extremely light as if I left all my stress in that room. Miranda was my therapist, and probably one of the best human beings I have ever met. She read my mind, she knew what I was feeling. She really helped me through my emotions. It was an incredible experience to work on my inner body. The atmosphere is extremely peaceful, beautifully decorated, and smells so good. The staff members are very pleasant. I did not get pushed into any commitment which kept the experience good for me. My sister treated me to a 90 minute birthday massage at Method Wellness. Upon entering, you're greeted with a light, positive and peaceful energy from everyone that works there. My massage was from a new masseuse there (she doesn't have a card as yet when I rebook I'll get her name and update this review); I loved her demeanor and her bedside manner. She was very detailed and asked me which aromatherapy scent I preferred as opposed to just choosing a scent for someone that suffers from migraines this was a god sent! Also, she was very in tuned with my problem areas (that were achey and tight but I had not mentioned to her). The whole experience was worth it and I'm definitely considering getting the membership! Super cute place I have been twice, that time I took a Hot Stone 60mim massage and it was amazing! Very nice, clean and professional. Deco, Friendly and Healthy vibes. I tried many spots in the area and I think this one it's so much better than anywhere else that I am thinking to join The Wellness Ritual membership. It includes one massage per month with reduced price. Lately I have been thinking to invest more in my health, so that may be a good option. First of all, the place is hard to find since they're tucked away in the corner of the far end of an outdoor shopping center. Second, they make a big point in their instructions that you have to be on time or it will be subtracted from your massage time and THEY WERE LATE! Sat for 15+ minutes before the clinician finally came out for the 2nd time after asking for me under the wrong name the first time. No one ever offered me water, tea or complimentary anything while I waited, common practice at every massage place I have ever gone to. Third, the AC was off (on a hot day) and the entire place was warm - no fun being stuck in a warm stuffy room during a 90 minute massage. I was upset before the massage even started because of the lack of hospitality/service and their disregard for MY time. I will not return and recommend you skip this business if you want a high level of service. Very disappointed! read more

These gals really knock it out of the park. They are completely receptive and quick to respond. I've tried the saunas, the massages, and the Nutritional Therapy service and I am more than happy with all three. 1) Infrared saunas. I can stay in this sauna for up to an hour, unlike the conventional heat saunas which just get way too hot. There are a host of other benefits that come with the infrared. Look em up! 2) Massage. Had mine with Tara. She provided great relief in my neck and upper back. Highly recommend you check this out if you're having any muscle tightness or pain. WELL worth the money. 3) This is a service I am still doing. I have mild IBS and have received zero relief or treatment from my primary doctor. Within two weeks my digestion has been better than it has in over two years. Also, the pain is gone. Literally gone! It's surreal how much my quality of life has improved. Rose is extremely knowledgeable and puts a lot of time into her practice. I've been given no new medications. All of this progress has come from diet and lifestyle changes. Small ones, but we are working towards my larger goal. She specializes in gut health and blood sugar rebalancing. If you have concerns about any of these then you are doing yourself a disservice by not contacting her. Get over to Method today! read more

I finished having the most relaxing 90min EDD and lavender massage with Massage Therapist Tara Dietz. I never had an EDD massage, but now I only want them. Also, the design of the inside and attention to detail is impeccable, the owners are super nice, and the Infrared Saunas are unlike anything around Virginia Beach.
