I'm having erosion and drainage issues on my property and, based on a recommendation on Nextdoor I…read moredecided to contact Shady Grove for an estimate. First they couldn't come out until November (almost 1.5 months) just to do the estimate. Then, they have a $2500 minimum for doing work ("we're a small company", they said). In my particular case the budget/minimum might not be an issue (I don't think it's a small job). Got them to come out next week because my issue is somewhat urgent. About twenty minutes later they called back and said I was already in their database. They don't know why. The last time I had any landscape work done was several years ago, and it was not by Shady Grove. They assure me it's because they've already come out to provide an estimate. But they have no other records. They only have my name and contact information. So, because I'm in their system, they wanted to charge $75 because they "must" have come out before... No thanks. I am an fairly organized person. On a lark I searched my email history and, lo and behold, I find the email thread with Shady Grove. From 2011. Where I *CANCELED* my appointment. So, because of their poor record keeping and a need for $75 not only did they lose an entire project but they also earned a negative review and lost any potential for future work. In the grand scheme of things looking at their other reviews on other sites it's clear that they do quality work. But I can't deal with this kind of silly shenanigans.

We recently hired SG to do some landscaping, hardscaping and water management and drainage design…read moreand they were a dream to work with. They worked with us to create options that balanced cost and complexity, drew out a plan before beginning so we knew exactly what we'd get, and didn't freak out when we asked for changes. They also arrived on time and completed everything according to schedule. What sets SG apart for me, though, is their high level of taste and design and their incredible attention to detail. Whenever Fern saw something that was not up to her exacting standards (even if we thought it was fine) she would have her team break it down and start over. As a result we are extremely happy with the result and recommend them highly. After seeing so many landscaping companies with mixed reviews, I'm really happy we found the gold standard.

Cannot keep production managers, account managers probably on my fifth or sixth manager in less than a two year window. Constant walk-throughs probably close to 20+ still can't get it right. Only a lot an hour and a half to an 18 unit complex. Should be at least 2 1/2 hours. Just did a walk-through a few days ago. And they completely missed one building that consists of five unit. I'm throwing my hands up. They are pretty much a COMPLETE JOKE. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. STAY AWAY.

I was hire with an offer letter and they did not keep their word. The second time I was contacted by lawn capital llc, for landscape director of landscape installation. The management could never get the interview time correct. They text me different times by five minutes and then thirty minutes. I arrived on time to meet a manager. He was not present, so one of the labors (cleaning a truck in back, with dirty clothes) came in the office and ask meet to tell him about myself. He did not have my resume to read. He was just a guy in a shirt with dirty pants doing whatever he was told to do. He was so uncomfortable, then asked me a lot of silly questions. He had no idea who I was or why I was there. I furnished him the job description. His reply, as I stood up was. Hey, they hired someone yesterday for that job. I replied okay, why did your management team email me and text me today for an interview. This company is so unprofessional, and the people that I talked to lie a lot based on my two interactions with them. Please don't waste your time. I am sure they all are all very nice people, but this is my green industry, and I take it very seriously.
