There was a garden the previous owner had and lots of weeds had grown in. After surveying the patio and discussing ideas, Mr. Jones sent me over a drawing concept of my vision along with his recommendations and vision he had for my patio. After approving his creative concept, Mr. Jones came out the next morning to get started with the patio clean out and getting rid of all the weeds. I want to give a review for Sarros Landscaping. Phil and his team totally transformed my current…read moreyard into the dream yard we didn't even know was possible. First, we had a nice backyard, but we had a yard that sloped to the house that never grew grass very well and always suffered with some drainage issues. Phil recommended and put in a paver potio that included great looking stones, firepit and pergola to give it character and style. I cannot say how much we love this patio. We cook down there with our grills/smokers, we have weekend fires in the fire pit for s'mores and cooking, and we love to just sit and relax as we hear the birds and watch the kids play on this transformed area. Second, we bought the house for the yard in the past for the trees and adventure, but our kids wanted grass to run/play. This is where Phil recommended putting in a retaining wall and leveling or backyard (with appropriate grade for drainage) to put a beautiful grass filled yard. This involved lots of prep, grading, tree removal and planning but the results are amazing. Phil not only put in zoysia grass and planned plants, replants, and beds all around my house, but had the new sprinkler systems put in to help water the investment. Phil also put grass all around the house and even put in yard lights (which I have always wanted) to shine on the house and tree canopy's which makes things look so great at night. Phil even helped me put in a tree swing between two trees since we had to take out a dying tree that we previously had a swing on. Third, and most importantly, Phil is great to work with... I am an engineer so I am detailed and I want to discuss things regularly. Phil ALWAYS had the time to talk, plan, and make sure that we were lock step in what we were doing with the yard and what the expectations were from both parties. Lastly, when the job is completed, Phil doesn't go away. He still welcomes calls to check on things, come look at the job and make sure things look right, and give advice on anything that his team has helped put in. When you invest in something that matters you want to give it to a person who is going to care about your investment as well and that is what Phil does. I have a high standard of how I want things to look when they are done at my house. Many times I do these things on my own because I can do it well. I have also learned to hire people who are qualified to do excellent work because I know I won't regret it for the years to come when I look at that investment over the years. Investing with Sarros Landscaping was a no brainer. We love our house, our yard, our new way of living, and I can't wait for the years to comes being out there and enjoying the outdoors.

I recently called Doug Hardin on a whim after receiving two other outrageous quotes from landscapers to have my yard cleaned up, graded and beginning stages of landscaping started. He worked within my budget and has been realistic about what could be accomplished based on the season (winter) and the condition of the yard (rocky, large trees, etc) Not to mention, the quote he provided was significantly less than other quotes I received. I now have a yard that is progressing beautifully with stack stoned borders, cleaned up landscape, small trees and bushes removed and drainage concerns taken care of. I would recommend Hardin's Gardens without hesitation for monthly maintenance or a large landscaping project. Doug is honest, realistic and dedicated to his business. He works right alongside his crew. Hardin's Gardens is a gem in the landscaping and lawn care maintenance business!

Our project was a big one -- installing a large granite patio and retaining wall and drainage/grading in the back yard. The quality of workmanship on the patio was amazing, but the rest of it lacked much to be desired. The "crew" consisted of a couple of guys that looked fresh from the parking lot of Home Depot. One was much more interested in smoking cigarettes and drinking Red Bull, than he was about working in the yard. In all fairness, I'd probably prefer drinking Red Bull to working in the yard, but that's why I hired someone else to do it. But, I digress.... Anyway, even given that the work was definitely not up to par, I still paid them (because the main part, the patio was really nice). We mutually agreed that our bill would be $250 off because of two items that weren't completed. Today, about 30 days after they completed work, one of the sub-contractors (not the Red Bull addict) showed up on my front porch saying he hadn't been paid and was filing a mechanic's lien. Sigh... Two takeaway points: ALWAYS get lien waivers for anyone that steps on your property to do work. And, NEVER use Environmental Landscape (not to be confused with Environmental Landscape Management in Doraville, who, according to the reviews I've seen, might have been a better choice!)

Kevin and his guys came to the rescue and were great. He had a lot of creative ideas that were in our price range. Not only was the price right, but the work was killer. Especially considering that we had our yard landscaped earlier in the year by someone else. It was easy to compare, and Kevin's work was far and away better. I'm talking sod, bushes, trees, flowers, landscaping, sprinklers, fence paint EVERYTHING. These guys knocked it out of the park, and Kevin gave us all kinds of great pointers related to the upkeep. We've even hired his crew again to come back for some seasonal projects and upkeep. The team of workers were always friendly. My wife, who works from home, felt very comfortable having these guys around. They were very polite to us both and did great work. Throughout the project Kevin was prompt and always easy to get a hold of, even on a Sunday afternoon when I had some questions, if I didn't reach him right away he always called me back immediate. Now our yard is beautiful and I would definitely recommend Environmental Landscape to any of my friends. Great Job guys!
