My old boat canvas was tired and showing signs of dry rot. I called about 9 different canvas shops all over the Baltimore regions including Pasadena, Bel Air, Baltimore city, etc. Most shops gave me a loose guesstimate quote over the phone since my needs were pretty straightforward...and all but one shop seemed to be giving me quotes within about $100 of each other. I spoke to a man named Ashby who took a lot of time answering my questions and giving me professional insight and even talked about some of the added value they provided over the competition (like Gore Tex thread). I decided to roll the dice and give them a shot and boy am I glad I did. They came out to the house and were extremely thorough and professional taking measurements and laying out a template. A week later a second trip out to the house for a fitting and final snap button placement. The results were outstanding. The fit and finish and attention to detail were second to none. The original quoted price stayed the same witht he completed job, no surprises, and they even worked in some special requests I had with the canvas.
