This was great food. We went on the Busiest day which was Sunday. And I had at least 40 people with me- and the manager made sure we had a place to sit. Oh my... what a fall from grace... I never had to take away TWO stars from good restaurant before, but just like most of the Asian restaurants around this area, they start with a Bang and end with a different kind of bang---the banging of angry fists and doors shutting... The sushi menu (as it was mentioned by another Yelper who also wrote a second review) : The sushi menu is just like a mail order bride. Nice and cute at first, was worth the money, and was everything you expected plus more... then, once you are hooked, they kind of start getting skimpy on the feel-goods and start changing on you a bit ... Now, their menu is still salvageable, but if it is not prevented, this can end in a nasty divorce... They used to have so many interesting varieties.... now, they have just as much 'sushi' but it's all a lie, I testify!! The ingredients inside the 'sushi' were: rice, cucumber, imitation crab with either avocado or cream cheese. They wrap these ingredients in different ways and make more than five combinations with the same ingredients. EG: one wrap will have rice, cucumber and avocado, the next will have rice, imitation crab and cream cheese, the third will have avocado instead of cream cheese, etc. Get the drift?? I see your deceitful ways Atlantic Buffet! And just like a mail-in-bride who is caught cheating, you too shall be forgiven for now... simply because there is nothing else out there that can replace you ... just yet, but you wait and see!! :P Now, besides the sushi bar, I only pay attention to the seafood variety. Which is still decent. Although the fried shrimp and the fried salmon are starting to taste more and more similar... like your deodorant and toothpaste ... it is do-able... Now, I just wish they will leave the steamed Bok-choy the hell alone. They keep pouring this thick sauce over it... I suggest to leave the bok-choy as is and put the sauce on the side so that the people can have the option to be or not to be drowned with sauce. :P Power to the people!!! --err...who like their Bokchoy steamy and naked!! Not strung out and sticky. Fehhh... All in all, this place is still decent. The server we had the last time was awesome. He was definitely rocking that day. Maybe he just got his first kiss, grew his first man-hair, who knows? but he was happy as hell. He was so happy, I was happy, and I complimented him to the supervisor, then my brain seized to function for a quick second and mindlessly called him a "chinese dude." Now, Im sure they have a picture of me in the kitchen with a big red X mark across with "she-devil" title on it ... Im sure he was not Chinese because the four people in the register were clearly offended, and for that, I apologize wonderful staff of Atlantic Buffet, and please dont molest my food when I come back? Friends? So there. I think it's still a good place to go. The decor is still nice and the staff is good. The food is still good but not as great as it was and oh, the price went up by a dollar. But I knew it was coming because just like a mail-in-bride, they too start demanding more cash after a while ... and just like a jerk ... At first glance things look nice and appetizing. In the test test food was just okay and a few epic fails. One example was the egg drop soup and wonton had zero taste. The hibachi you chose protein and veg and sauce. I chose shrimp and beef w/veg garlic sauce. So bland so little sauce it was all absorbed w/ingredients. That was just okay not as bad as the soup. Sushi was pretty good nicely displayed. Not a lot of variety just the same few types of fish in fixing arranged differently. The sides I ate were okay green beans were pretty good wings were good. For the price at lunch (about&15 before tip) I do not think it was worth it even for a buffet type meal where you are not expecting the best food. I can say the service was good. The servers were attentive and friendly. Which for me made the experience inviting. read more

My work brings to this area on occasion and I stay at local Holiday Inn express. I can walk across the street and get good fresh seafood. Shrimp multiple ways. Green mussels , crawfis, salmon and other fish. They also have all the traditional Chinese Buffet dishes. Hibachi grill, and sushi. Deserts and now a bar! I got a Corona X with my dinner. A variety if food, as well as MAINLY kind staff, but my reason for a lower review has nothing to do with my service, but the treatment I have witnessed from managerial staff to employees. John, a manager on duty, though it would be nice to yell at employees in front of several folks, saying 'Next time, don't be stupid and talk to me like that.' The situation unfolded because the employee was letting him know that a couple had waited longer than expected to be seated. Next time, this particular manager should pay attention to the amount of people watching. Or stop talking down to his employees. BEWARE ! Thoroughly disgusted. Food was cold and tasteless. Sign at the welcome counter (where you wait to be seated) specified lunch until 4pm was $8.99.... But we were charged $12 each at the register. When I pointed out the sign, I was told "everyone knows Sundays are all day dinner" and pointed to a small sign hidden behind a kids stuff toy vending machine. Came here for lunch with my girlfriend I will only be talking about the sushi because that's the only thing I ate first off the lunch price was a great price as for the sushi it was pretty good considering its a buffet however the proportion of fish to rice it off really small thin slices of fish with a large amount of rice and the fish was a tad watery but is definitely not the worst sushi I've had from a buffet but not the best either and also our waiter kept a good check on us to make sure we didn't need anything so that was good overall if your in douglasville and looking for some good sushi I would recommend going to Sakura sushi grill or daruma. read more

Just came back from eating here with my husband. It is across the street from our hotel so we went for dinner at 6:30. Our experience was simply gross. First, the good. Convenient location and a massive selection. Dirt cheap at $10.49 for all you can eat. Now the bad... The negiri sushi was sitting under loose plastic wrap since 11am. I didnt see the sign until after i put it on my plate. The rice was rock hard and dried out and the maguro smelled like rotting fish instead of the delicious maguro that i love. No soy sauce was available. The fresh oysters also had a very very strong smell, more than fresh oysters are supposed to. The chinese food also was under heat lamps and was dried out and/or cold. Even the pot stickers were dried out, but at lease those were edible. The hibachi grill was included with the buffet, but it was not staffed so we were not able to order anything. The salad bar was nearly empty even though there were only about 6 people in the restaurant. I even tried the fried chicken. It had a weird aftertaste like flowers or something...horrible. I cant make this stuff up. I really, really hate to waste food so my tolerance is high.... But here i spit out almost everything i tried... What a huge waste. I am back at the hotel and still starving since i couldnt eat anything there, yet starving is the better option. Great buffet, and a good value. It's a buffet, so timing is everything. If you go for a dish that's been sitting out it will taste like it, but that's how buffets work. There are a million different items to chose from, including fresh fruit and a tasty dessert selection. Right now they're running a 20% deal so dinner or lunch for two will run you less than $20, including drinks (non-alcoholic). I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The bar for buffets in this area seems to be set pretty low, particularly for less than $10. We came for lunch and I was prepared for the typical 'everything tastes kind of gross but there's 30 different items' type thing. It was only $7.99 per adult for lunch, so the price tag didn't give me much hope. The interior of this place is actually pretty nice. When you walk in there's a large fountain and pretty domed ceiling. The buffet lines and seating area are laid out nicely. The buffet is HUGE...two three sided tiers and a central tier that serves hibachi and sushi. The selection of food is really broad and I'm sure that just about anyone coming here could find something to enjoy. The majority of the food is Americanized Chinese (General Tso's, wonton soup, lo mein, etc.) which, from what I tried, was really good. I liked the ginger chicken in particular. There's a section with straight up southern American food (fried chicken, mac n cheese) as well as a section with Americanized Mexican. I was kind of surprised that they do hibachi here, as well as have a large selection of sushi (I did not try either unfortunately). Very heavy on the seafood in every category. They also have a salad bar, fresh fruit, and desert section. I'm often creeped out by buffets and afraid of food poisoning, but I didn't get a 'left out too long' feeling from anything I ate. It was also pretty busy in there, so I took it as a good sign. On a final note, I didn't leave feeling disgusted with myself like I do at most buffets. There were a handful of items that I thought were actually really tasty and well done: the fried chicken (oddly enough), twice baked potatoes, and ginger chicken. I would possibly come back. I believe the location in Marietta is more spacious but this location is more compact. However, the decor is pretty decent, nice. I think some people were stating that it was dirty; I didn't quite see that. Cute little bridge to walk over a stream of water when you first walk through the door, not bad A.B., not bad! I did see good service, prompt service. The sushi was average at best. Although it was good but good will get ya a "C". Lot of the food was kind of left out all day such like the roast, the mac & cheese, the potatoes with queso. This location has the hibachi thing jumping off. Not bad. I am a General Tso's feen and they had plenty of that in which tasted good. The coconut shrimp was pretty good too as well as the seafood delight (crab meat & shrimp). Black peppered chicken was also alright. Everything else was either average or below average such as the crab meat on a stick, veggies, fried wings, etc. I would come here again to give it another try if I happen to be in the area. It hink the price was fair to a degree; perhaps on the overcharge side for food left out all day. From prior reviews, it seems like it fell from grace. Grade: C read more

It seems that maybe dinner is the meal to avoid here. Not quite sure, but every time I visit the area, me and a buddy have lunch here and the food is quite good. The selection is quite diverse and that goes for the desert bar as well. The lunch price is $7.49 which is ridiculous for the type of food and the selection. The sushi is decent and has many varieties as well. There is also a hibachi chef that will cook to your taste. What more can you ask for at this price? Not much. Was in the mood for some sushi and seafood while in Douglasville so I decided to give this place a shot. Unfortunately this place is the definition of mediocre. The sushi tasted old and there didn't seem to be any care put into the making of it. Everything just seemed off in someway. Normally this is a byproduct of sushi/seafood buffets anyway but take Nori Nori in Sandy Springs for example, everything is fresh and care is put into it.
