Decided to go in today to try. Try is exactly that! Baby steps. 6 fried wings and 1 shrimp roll. $8.23. I always see foot traffic here. It must be good? One lady told me earlier this week she drives from east point/college park since 2009. Well dang...if you know that's a good little trek. And some extra mileage to get to this little plaza spot. While waiting another lady comes in and orders shrimp egg foo yung with shrimp fried rice. Her bill was $10.83. Not bad (as I nod my head). Wait...pause. she got more for her money. It's been a few years since I ordered food from Bamboo Garden. What used to be decent is now a complete waste of money. They are cutting corners and using variations of recipes and the food doesn't seem fresh. I got the shrimp egg foo young which is a favorite dish which I make at home so I know the recipe. For some reason the egg foo young had two pieces of chopped onions and no sprouts. So the patties consisted of only eggs and shrimp. The sprouts and onions make the dish. I wish they would have mentioned they didn't have any sprouts when I placed the order. I would have ordered something else. I had egg rolls which I question the freshness, the wrapper was a bright yellow color and after eating it my stomach told the truth. I've never seen egg roll wrappers that are yellow. They are usually white. The shrimp fried rice was meh. No seasoning just basic. For $37 for 2 dishes and 2 egg rolls, I expected better quality and taste. I hadn't been to Bamboo Garden in a while. This was my go-to place for house fried rice. Was. Past tense. I placed my usual order for a large house fried rice with no pork. It was ready in minutes packed to the gills. I noticed that there were shrimp and chicken on top. Once you eat the meat on top, that's it . Just small bits of chicken. And, it had no taste at all. No seasoning. Nothing. The worst. I will never go back. Wasted money and time. No recommendation. Avoid. read more

It's good Chinese food, not fantastic. Just your typical Chinese place. The rice isn't that great and be aware that they put cabbage in it so make sure if that's not your thing, you ask for it out. The staff is nice! Just normal Chinese takeout. read more

Trash! I'd rather have frozen Chinese food from Sam's club. Extra spicy general Tao chicken was red pepper flakes also no broccoli in the chicken, and crab Rangoon was mostly wonton. But given the location and aesthetics of the place I wasn't expecting much. read more

This place is out of this world. Food is ready fast. It's food is perfect. Service is beyond excellent. Best Chinese food in town bar none.

I've been patronizing BG for over 10yrs. The staff is excellent and always helpful. I'm a huge fan of the General Tso's Chicken (extra spicy) and chicken fried rice. The vegetables with brown sauce is a hot item as well. All in all they have good food and good prices. I'll continue to support them! read more

Such a yummy Chinese spot. It's my go-to lately as I live right down the road. I prefer white-meat entrees; but Bamboo Garden offers mostly dark meat entrees. They have been nice and accommodating and offer me to order sweet and sour chicken which is white meat with orange sauce or sesame sauce instead of the sweet and sour sauce! read more

I'm suprised this place hasn't been reviewed more - it's a hidden gem in the Chapel Hill area of Douglasville. Family and owned and operated, from what I hear by a family who came to the US when their children were young. They definitely brought the best of Chinese food with them. I've had Chinese in many regions, everywhere from Chinatown in LA, to Chicago Seattle Houston and Atlanta..and this is by far my favorite. Great value, a typical combo runs you $6 and is more than enough to fill me up for dinner. The food is always fresh, the place always has a reasonable amount of traffic going through it. Today - on a Sunday afternoon there were 5-6 orders taken while I waited on my food, which by the way, is not long at all. Sadly it seems the quality of one of our favorite restaurants has gone down hill. A LOT. Tonight we ordered the usually delicious staple go to meal of "boneless spareribs" When they arrived, after the first bite it was obvious something was deeply wrong. The flavor was flat, almost tangy and not the usual, sweet and savory flavor that is always so enjoyable. The meat had spoiled. Upon sniffing the container, it was very clear that this was the case. It is unacceptable to have a restaurant serve you spoiled meat. The food was reported and a new meal was offered (to the restaurant's credit), but after spoiled meat is on your fork, your appetite for a restaurant dwindles greatly. Perhaps we will try them again, perhaps the food will be wonderful for everyone else who dines there. But it will be a long, long time, before we trust them again. read more

I'm a New Yorker and it's hard to find great Chinese food in the south. I have to drive out of my way to get good Chinese and so far Bamboo garden knows how to cook my shrimp and broccoli in white sauce!! Other places look at you crazy when you ask for it. Shrimp should neva eva eva neva be cooked in brown sauce. I'm still working on them with the fried rice being cooked with egg, onion bean sprouts and removing the peas and carrots. I have to say that this place is a must try!!! I usually always have the same thing (Chicken with Broccoli) and I have to say I have yet to be disappointed. I have also tried the tofu with garlic sauce and veggie lo-mein (Yummy)..The only thing they can't get right is when I say I want it extra extra spicy I would like for it to be.. and when I ask for some hot oil could you please refrain from charging me 50 cents extra (its not my fault you ignored my directions the first time). I usually get take out but have ate at the restaurant once and to be honest I would rather eat it home although the staff does bring your food to your table in a decent plastic plate lol. If you want your food delivered their minimum is $15.00 (umm not worth it, i'll just go and pick it up! All in all I would definitely go again. read more

I'm giving this restaurant a 3 simply because there are no 5 star restaurants in Douglasville and, while good enough that we usually do takeout from here once a week or so, it's still not the best. It is a great value though. I usually spend $30 and feed my family of 4 (with two teenagers) twice on it. Dishes we like best: Curried shrimp, Kung Pao Chicken or Beef and Szechuan Chicken.
