I'm not sure if it was due to Covid but they do not offer housekeeping during your stay so just an FYI. However they were more than willing to swap out beach towels and bath towels as often as we needed. We will Absolutley be back! And do yourself a favor and venture out for dinners - the Landmark restaurant right across from this hotel is the only good spot to eat in OOB. The rest are tourist traps And some are downright gross. Drive 10-20 minutes to Scarborough or Portland for some amazing food

Very clean and updated suite. Very comfortable, had a kitchen, separate bedroom, and seating area. Would be great for an extended stay, though we are only there two nights. The manager was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly - even accommodating us on our late check in. She asked we simply knock on her door when we got in (even if it meant waking her). We also could check ourselves in and do paperwork the next day if necessary. I would definitely return, and bring the family. Great stay!

We were literally on the beach. The house was built in the 1890s and it is beautiful! It does have updates to it since then but you don't lose a bit of the charm. We stayed in the old inn keepers room on the main floor, and it had its own bathroom. Our room had a window AC unit and it's own mini fridge as well as a ceiling fan. I do think it needs more outlets but we just used one in the bathroom. They provide you with bath towels, fresh beach towels everyday, washcloths, face towels and bath mats. Resa is the manager their and was absolutely wonderful. She cooked delicious breakfasts and is available if you need anything. One day we had avocado toast, scrambled eggs, fresh baked blueberry buckle, blueberry corn muffins, and chocolate oatmeal protein cookies. Various breads, bagels, and English muffins are available as well as butter, peanut butter, and jelly. There is always coffee, tea, and water and ice on hand. In addition to breakfast the house has a whole closet FULL of board games and activities to play if you find yourself inside for an afternoon storm. There is plenty of common areas to hang out and do a puzzle or play a game. The house also has plenty of beach items for you to use including beach chairs, umbrellas, footballs, volleyballs, sand toys, bikes, helmets, and various other things. You do need to park on the street, but there was ample parking and you don't really have to move your car that often because there is so much within walking distance. Overall I couldn't speak highly enough about our stay. Consider us new regulars.

So glad we did! We stayed in room #12 with a king size bed with plenty of cozy layers to keep us warm during the chilly early September nights. The whole house was beautifully clean, warm and welcoming. It's literally a stones throw from the beach and where we all sit once we are there, so we got out of walking the mile back to the other house our friends rent. Also, the breakfast served in the morning was delicious! Homemade bread, mini egg and ham burritos and plenty of coffee, tea and OJ. I was in heaven! Not to mention, the sub shop is across the street, so anything you need is within arms reach. We will most definitely be back again next year! Even though our room had a great view of the beach, we might try for a different room just to see what they're all like. Very happy with our stay! Until Covid and we moved to take care for mom, had we missed our fall stays. Rodney over the years has been the most wonderful host. Recently Rodney and his wife Debbie have graciously allowed me to Memorialize my husband and our stays together at the Breakers. i thought a perfect way to do that was to buy 2 LL Bean Adirondack chairs for the front lawn for everyone to enjoy the view as we did over the year. I hope readers of the reviews choose to stay and enjoy the Breaker's for the view, the hospitality, the beast breakfast in town, but most of all the sense of peace that you get when you stay at The Breakers and walk on Higgins Beach, it's life changing.

I stay in a studio that is features a well-furnished kitchen. Beds are comfortable as are the armchairs, which provide a great spot for reading. Porches facing the beach and the town are great for relaxing and listening to the sound of the ocean or watching people heading to the beach. The location can't be beat--steps away from a beautiful sandy beach and a very short walk from all of the restaurants and shops in this charming little town. Mary and Judi are welcoming hosts who really care about the comfort of their guests. I highly recommend this place!

If you are looking to relax with a quiet location right on the beach, the place is great. If you want a little city life, Portland is only 20 minutes away.

There's a cat that has free reign of the house, so if you have allergies this may not be the place for you. The owner is a little bit of a talker. We ended up being late for a few things we had scheduled, because we couldn't get a break in conversation. It's one of the only hotels/B&B's on Camp Ellis so the location was ideal. It's also literally steps from the beach. They don't take credit cards, but do require a deposit to hold the reservation, so you have to mail a check ahead of time.

Also we went and ate at Huots fries seafood- not bad. Across the street is a little market that sells live lobster that you can ask to get steamed for you at no extra charge. That was a great deal! We had amazing walks by the ocean at low tide. We brought bikes and went to the State park that's a few minutes away up the road. It's a picturesque little gem Cristina's bed and breakfast. Cristina and Paul are very nice and sometimes we would see them and they were very helpful answering our questions as to where to go. They keep to themselves and live next door. They recommended incredible restaurants in Portland. I hope to come back here every summer and bring my family.
