I have to say this place totally exceeded my expectations. You order an entree and it comes with your choice of two sides for around $12-13 which is expensive for a truck but you get a ton of food. The oven fried pork chop is really baked not fried so don't expect a breaded chop. Instead you get a large bone in lean chop with tasty seasoning and they manage to cook it just right so it isn't too dry. The collard green sides and peach cobbler are both amazing as well. The citrus iced tea is worth a try as well. I think they change the menu every week so I'll be back to try some other items. Glad I tried this place and I'll be sure to get it again.

This food truck came to our building last week. Once again, we had the chance to order our food in…read moreadvance and again, we decided to not do that. Our concern is that something may come up and we'll miss getting the food we paid for. Well... We went when they opened for business. There was only one person working in the truck. He took our order and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, some people who did order online came to pick up their food...no problem. We ordered 1 Island burger which, according to the menu, had cheese, a pineapple slice and pineapple mango blaze sauce. For the side dish, I chose plantains. Also, we got 1 Classic American cheeseburger which the menu said came with your choice of toppings. My husband chose fries for his side. We got upstairs and noticed that instead of plantains, fries were given. Sigh... I went back downstairs and told the man that he didn't give me my plantains. He corrected that mistake and apologized. As for the food --- For me, the plantains were the best item. Even though a few were overcooked, they still retained their softness in the middle and the sweet taste that comes from sauteeing them. The Island burger underdelivered when it came to ingredients. There was no pineapple slice. The pineapple-mango blaze merely consisted of some small diced piece of mango. Plus, there was some shredded lettuce and red onions. The Classic American cheeseburger ended up with lettuce and onions on it. The fries were okay. Both of us agreed that the burger patties were overcooked and dried out. So...a decent enough meal but nothing to write home about it. This truck attracted more attention than others that came to our building. With only one person working on the truck, I can imagine he got overwhelmed as the evening progressed. The place was very busy, which was good to see in these times. My daughters and I had the pull pork sandwiches, SG chicken salad, and some pork ribs. We had cornbread of course and sides were Mac & cheese, collard greens, pork & beans, and Cole slaw. We drinks and also had banana pudding to go. Everything was delicious the pulled pork was great and the girls added their favorite sauces. The ribs had the best smoke rings and were fall off the bone tender. They didn't need anything extra to help them. The chicken in the salad was moist and easy to cut. The salad was well balanced and delicious. The only thing I wish was on my salad was a boiled egg but that is personal preference. All the sides including the cornbread was flavorful and hit the spot with seasoning. Now it wasn't homemade but very good and worth the money for restaurant walk-in quality. The place even busy was also very clean and staff was working hard, very friendly and serviced us as soon as we walked in. The person running the from even asked for help at another register once three people were in line. Service being quality and as important as the quality of the food. A++ and 10 with two snaps in a circle. Go and enjoy.

DEETS: This is a counter-service restaurant where you place your order with a cashier, and someone brings your food to your table when it's ready. SERVICE: We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not very busy at all, with maybe three tables occupied. There were several staff members behind the counter, but no one was paying attention to anything other than themselves or their phones, and they all had their backs to the entrance, oblivious. We waited & waited for someone to turn around, notice us, greet us, and be served. As for seating, we had only the option to sit at a table because all the open booths were dirty. The restrooms were not much better. After our food came out, they must have finally seen the mess because a couple of the crew members, including the chef, started cleaning up the tables. Great to finally see the place get cleaned, but the dining room should never have been in the condition it was in to begin with, especially with it so empty and the staff just standing around, oblivious, as if they had nothing to do... *sigh* & insert a big eyeroll! FOOD: Not surprisingly, the food was average because "you get what you give" and they obvi didn't give a.... We got a pulled pork and a prime brisket with coleslaw, and they were both a bit on the dry side and lacking flavor; nothing at all like the amazing pulled pork at their sister restaurants. The table had a cute wooden box holding a selection of sauces, but sadly, they all tasted pretty much the same. I tried their hamburgers (the patty wasn't very juicy, but it wasn't bone-dry), all-beef hot dogs (fatty and incredibly flavorful), hot Italian sausage (this was a bit dry), and macaroni & cheese (super cheesy and addictive). Outside of the hamburgers and hot dogs, there wasn't any classic American BBQ options, but I would be interested in the future to see how they compare to other BBQ joints in Virginia. Overall, 3.5/5, but will bump to a 4/5.

Finally building management sent out a message saying the truck would be here at 5:15 p.m. When food trucks come here, we are given a link where we can order our food in advance and it will be ready at the time you want. We never partook of this option because we knew things could go wrong. Today, especially, we were really glad! Once the truck arrived, the man who worked there, came out to apologize saying he had to replace some equipment which caused them to be late. Also, although he didn't mention it, I think he probably got caught in rush hour traffic as they are Woodbridge based. He then told me they would be ready to take orders in 20 minutes. So...we waited as did a young woman who had placed an advance order only to be told it was cancelled. Thus, she had to place her order again and at least she made sure she wasn't charged twice for her food. We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches. These sandwiches are topped with cole slaw. That's something we didn't want as we think it can interfere with the brisket flavoring. We asked if they could put it on the side and they said "yes". We also ordered one side of mac & cheese plus one side of beans. All of this came to $50---yikes! The sandwiches came out in those to-go containers which are basically thin cardboard vessels with no covers (see my photo). The beans and the mac & cheese were very small portions and were put into small food containers with no lids. We're glad we brought some plastic bags to bring the food upstairs! Having to do so was no fun at all. As for the food --- The sandwiches were small with not much brisket in them. There was a side of bbq sauce which we used. The sauce was on the tangy side. While the brisket was moist, there wasn't much flavor. It would have benefitted greatly if a rub was used. The cole slaw was decent---no complaints there. The mac & cheese was luke warm but it was the way we like mac & cheese which is simply made---no fancy cheeses or any other additions. We just wish it was hotter. The beans were similar to Boston Baked beans but without the undercurrent of sweetness found in the Boston ones. They were okay---nothing to write home about. Yelp is prodding me to mention "ambiance". Well...it's a food truck that's nicely decorated. If they came back to our building, we don't plan to order again, in large part due to the pricing. Each little side we got cost $8 each!

Why only two stars? I'll start with the menu. You order at the cash register. When we went to the counter, there was a paper copy of the menu and all the prices were blacked out. The cashier perkily explained that the prices had changed so that was why prices were blacked out. So why not print a menu with the current prices? And the reality is that even though there are tables in Puzukan, this is completely a take-out restaurant. Though our order was for dine-in, we were served our meal in take-out boxes with plastic silverware. Covid redux? Also, there was no banchan, nor any soy or hot sauce on the table. What cemented two stars for Puzukan was my visit to the restroom. The corridor to the restrooms was cluttered with supplies on shelves sticking out every which way. And then the far restroom...oh that restroom. It was filthy with bodily by-product flung on the wall. But what was the worst was this restroom was filled haphazardly with more restaurant supplies. Lying out in the open were a whisk and other cooking equipment on a shelf next to the toilet. Need I say more?
