I don't usually write food reviews but I thought I had to for this. Dixie Bones does great catfish,…read morebrisket, pull pork, stuff pototes but TERRIBLE ribs. The ribs are dry, tasteless, not falling off the bone tender. I don't know if it's old or leftovers or what. I ordered 2 ordered of ribs and I ate one rib. I had to throw away the rest. I was so disappointed. The catfish was awesome as usual. The brisket was good as well and the stuff potatoes and sides were equally good. I can make ribs at home better than that. I think Famous Dave's is even better. I had ribs from Ruby Tuesday the next night and they were by far more tender, fall of the bone tender with better flavor. My wife reminded me we didn't like the ribs 20 years ago but I had forgotten. What a shame. It was a $150 order and I threw away 2 orders of the ribs. Couldn't eat them. Sorry Dixie Bones, you need to do better with your ribs. - Thank you for responding to my review. I will keep that in mind about the ribs in the future. I appreciated the refund offer. Thank you for responding in a honest and professional manner sir. I'm adding an extra star for that!!!!

They even come to my worksite and have done onsite catering which was really fun and a nice break from regular cafeteria food. The food is fresh, fast and top quality. I adore the baby back ribs, the pulled pork, pulled chicken and jalapeño cheddar sausage are to die for. If you dine in- they have 6 sauces to choose from to add to your sandwich or fries. They also offer butter and honey for your cornbread. It's a spacious restaurant and every table has napkin rolls/ sauces and they are very prompt cleaning tables. They have a nice semi-private side room for special occasions. This is a very appreciative restaurant towards military/police/ fire/ emergency medical response services. Being in a military family- we have always appreciated how much this restaurant does for the military community. You can choose to buy a plastic cup when you order your food; and some of the proceeds go towards a veteran program. This is the place where you can bring the family or dine alone. I encourage everyone to try it in person so you can try all of the sauces. The vinegar mustard is amazing with fries!

The macaroni and cheese was very good. My meal came with cornbread and a beverage. I selected Sweet Tea as my drink. The tea tasted homemade. It was sweet and really complimented my meal. I took my order to go but noted that the dining room was very clean. My father, several of my close family members, and friends are veterans. I love how Mission BBQ honors military service. I highly recommend this location and I will definitely return.

Dale's Smokehouse - Rib dinner with green beans and sweet potatoes

Dale's Smokehouse was my latest Sunday barbecue adventure, and let me tell you--it did not…read moredisappoint. From the outside, it looked decent enough to warrant a stop, and since it's right next door to Grinder's Seafood (seafood lovers, your review is coming next), I figured why not make the trip worthwhile? When I walked in, three ladies were sitting at a small table, and one immediately got up to greet me and take my order. After checking out the menu, I decided on the rib and chicken platter--which does not come with sides--and the rib dinner with green beans and sweet potatoes. Of course, I couldn't resist adding an extra side of potato salad. While waiting, I took in the atmosphere. Dale's has more of a country store vibe than anything fancy, but that just made me think all the real effort was going straight into the food. And clearly, it was. My order was prepared and packed up quickly, but I didn't get the full experience until I made it home--and MAN! The portion sizes were huge. Definitely enough to get your money's worth. The ribs were tender, the chicken was perfectly charred and seasoned, and the sides absolutely delivered. That potato salad especially? Spot on. Dale's may be tucked away in old Indian Head, but it's absolutely worth the trip. If you're in the mood for hearty portions, flavorful barbecue, and no-frills comfort food, this spot deserves a visit. I'll definitely be back for the pork BBQ. Enjoy!

When I parked I think I was the only non pick up truck in the lot, take that as you will. When I walked the place was mostly empty except for one table in the back that was completely full of some dude just sitting around eating. It almost looked like they where having a meeting of some sort and they paused their conversation when I walked in. It was odd. The staff here was pretty nice. Having never been here before I wasn't sure what to order and they didn't seem to rush me. I ended up ordering ribs and she told me since I was sitting down they had all 3 of their sauces at the table. They ribs came out pretty quick and they where all okay. Not the best ribs I have every had not the worst. I thought the sauces where good I rotated which ones I was trying. All in all I thought this place was okay. I don't think I would go out of my way to stop here but if I was passing by and needed some food I don't think I would pass it up.
