We tried for more than 2 years with Kevin and his staff. For some time this was the only pharmacy that we could get Metadate Cd for our son, so we were stuck. Today was the last day! Some of the many issues, explained briefly. We have had this medication partially filled and never notified on the bottle or at time of pick up. They only kept a small quantity in stock so I often had to return to get the remainder of the 30 day supply. The prescription was dropped off and I was told it was ordered. I went in to pick it up the day I was told it would be ready, but was told that only Kevin, the owner, ordered it and he was out of town. A bag with my son's medication was tossed across the pharmacists counter at me waiting at the check out counter. Today was the last time I will walk into this pharmacy (I had to go back three times because I was given incorrect information and told that my entire families insurance was terminated). Over and over Kevin repeated himself explaining that I did not understand insurance. He spoke in circles and interrupted repeatedly. I wasted 3 hrs dealing with an issue that if the pharmacy took a moment, would have realized that they were at fault, putting the incorrect numbers in to be authorized. My insurance was current and they did not know how to enter the new numbers from the card. I urge you to never let Kevin and his staff treat you poorly. Metadate Cd can now easily be ordered and kept for you at all the surrounding pharmacies, including Walgreens in Townsend, and if you are looking for a smaller private pharmacy, Bayard Pharmacy in Dover can help...with a smile! read more

Sat there and waited for 1 hour twentuy minutes for a perscription, meter and test strips. Excuse from staff: we dont have the meter in stock, we will have to order it. Also pharmasist was too busy on the phone to count my pills. Will never set foot in that place again. read more

On Monday, February 10, 2020, I saw Doctor ********, MD PHD. He in turn wrote prescription's for me on this date. I took this prescription's to my pharmacy, Atlantic Apothecary. I was in the pharmacy twice on Monday, 02/10/20. I first dropped prescription's off. When I went back in to pick up, they had them both at full price. I told them, I have insurance. I told them I would go down to the DHSS office tomorrow, Tuesday, 02/11/20 and find out what insurance I have. On Tuesday, 02/11/20 I did in fact go to the DHSS office. They told me I have medicaid and gave me the number, and told me to take it to Atlantic Apothecary. I then took the information over to Atlantic Apothecary. They stated they would need a pre authorization. I said, fine, let me know when you receive it. On Thursday, 02/13/20 I received a text from Atlantic Apothecary, stating my prescription was ready. I go in to pick it up. When I get to the counter they ask for a hundred and some odd dollar's. I said, this was covered under, traditional medicaid. Well, they didn't know anything about that. They explained to me that someone placed it in the wrong bin, and they hadn't even called Dr. *****, for a Prior authorization, yet. I said, alright, you call him for an authorization and I will be in tomorrow. Thursday, 02/13/20 is the first time Atlantic Apothecary is requesting a prior authorization.They had had the prescription's in their possession, since Monday, 02/10/20. 4 DAYS!!! On Friday, 02/14/20 I went in to pick up my prescription's. They are not ready, nor do they have the prior authorizations. The lady at the counter just shrugged her shoulder's. As though she could really care less about my health or issues. I called Dr. ***** office and left my phone number on his emergency number. On Saturday, 02/15/20 I went in to see if my prescription was ready. Of course, they said, no. I told them I'll go ahead and pay for it. Now, they stated I couldn't pay for it or I might lose my medicaid. I told them that's fine. They can report me to medicaid. She came back and said, they can't do it. Now they resort to lying. I know, by law, I can pay for a prescription. Yes, if medicaid investigate's me they can inquire as to where I got the money. I told them to give my prescription's back. They act like they are the only pharmacy in town. I will be reporting this behavior to the state board of pharmacy. This is now 6 time's I have been to this pharmacy to pick up my prescription. My previous prescription's were filled on 01/13/20. Wednesday, 02/12/20 was the last day of my medication's. So, I have now been two day's without medication. I will have to go to the emergency room, either tonight or tomorrow, to obtain some of the ********, as I always's have seizure's when I quit taking those. I have many medical issue's. I am already having problem's losing my vision on a good day. Plus, the cancer, I recently found out I have again.. This is 100% unnecessary and avoidable. They could have been straight up with me and said, we do not want to fill this prescription, on Monday. Please, take it elsewhere to get it filled. 6 day's later and I still do not have the prescription's. I will file complaint's with the appropriate boards, along with medicaid, better business bureau and anyone else that will listen to me. They have wasted 6+ days of my time. Plus, more to come. All because they are too stupid to put the prescriptions in the right bin, plus, they really just don't care. They aren't going to compensate me for my time, unless I get a court order. Remember, they are the only important people. They are special. Thursday evening is when they first faxed or called the physician for a PA. 4 day's they sat on that prescription. They also, could have given me a 72 hour emergency supply. But, as we know they are not that considerate. Nor do they care about their customer's. I wish only bad thing's to happen to these useless people and their horrible pharmacy. It will happen. What comes around goes around. Atlantic Apothecary, a useless waste of space!! read more

I have has nothing but issues with this pharmacy. I didn't want to wait a week for the prior authorization. I told them just fill it, I'll pay for it. They said, we can't do that. I told them, give me my prescription back, which they did. I took it over to rite aid and got it filled. I explained to rite aid what occurred. Rite aid even found me a discount. My son takes a few different meds regularly and they have always gone above and beyond to make the process easy. I have been a customer at Atlantic Apothecary in Middletown for several years. As sad as I am to see them close the Middletown store, I am happy to be able to follow them to Smyrna. There is nothing better than going to a pharmacy where they pharmacist and staff know you personally and treat you like family. When my husband was very ill, Kevin drove a much needed prescription to my house after hours. You will never get that kind of service from a pharmacy chain. Brought in my daughter's ADHD medications. First one my insurance would fill brand only and this pharmacy will not provide the brand Concerta. They only have the generic. My insurance will not pay for generic. They then filled the generic prescription and tried to charge me $245. I went back to doctor to get a replacement med, brought it to the pharmacy. They told me "This medication will be $95 because it requires preauthorization." Trying to get me to pay full price for the medication so they wouldn't have to wait and could get full price instead of the contracted rate my insurance gives. I asked them to start authorization process so I only had to pay my $10 copay instead of $95 full price. After hearing similar stories from 2 friends about how this pharmacy has done the same thing to them, I went back the next morning to pick my script up. When I tried to talk to them about it, the owner said the problem was I didn't understand how my insurance worked. He them refused to explain anything to me so I could understand why I had to pay $95 when they could fax my doctors office to get authorization so I'd only have to pay $10. He then told me to leave and go to another pharmacy. read more
