To whom it may concern , the security officers at the gate are disrespectful, asking children. Do they have weapons basically stereotyping. As an adult, I am licensed to carry they didn't even ask me. Furthermore, I feel that the officers at the gate needs further training and coaching to deal with the general public that does not fit their social narrative and also coaching on providing mutual respect, empathy to not box everyone into a stereotype. My young kids are not criminals. They do not carry weapons. I am as a responsible and dedicated law, abiding citizen/ mother is licensed to carry weapons, not my children. All children/teenagers are not created equal. Mine happens to be brilliant young man, honored scholars, and simply just wanted a fried Oreo and a lemonade, but unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to patronize your business. Going to the fair in the fall brings about so much nostalgia. From the freshly popped popcorn to the sugary sweet funnel cakes, being at the fair just brings me joy! So when I continued to see the bright ferris wheel at the Atlanta Fair as I drove on the highway, I begged my bf to take me, knowing that my childlike joy needs to be fueled. He, being a transplant from Dallas, Texas, told me how lame he thought this fair would be and not worth the time because he's so used to the Texas state fair. *insert eye roll here* Whatever! I didn't care, I wanted to go lol. So imagine my surprise when a few days later he tells me we're going to the fair! YAY! We decided to make it a night with the fair being the start of the fun and made our way over. Parking was a breeze, as there was a large lot directly across the street from the fairgrounds that was being monitored by APD/security. When we walked in, we walked through a security scanner and my bag was checked which was totallyyy fine with me, I'm all about safety, especially when it comes to public events. We went on a Friday afternoon so it was pretty much us and a few families so lines were nonexistent. At the ticket window there were different options for purchasing amusement tickets and bands which were a little steep for what I was seeing. We opted for buying just a few tickets for 2 to enjoy about 4 or 5 rides and spent under $40. When we walked into the fair, it was cute. It brought back some feels but also some thoughts like, "did I make up the glitz and glamour of the fair as a kid or...?" Because man, some of those rides could use a little TLC and new paint. I was a little afraid to go on a few of them because I didn't want to be the one lol! We did opt to go on a few rides including the ferris wheel which was fun always and even nicer because we were the only ones. We also rode the Alpine monster track which I was talking crazy trash about when it began, saying it was weak and needed to speed up LOL ya'll. Why did that sucker start going full speed and then some?! Idk if it was even allowed, I think the ride operator was making me eat my words lolol. I had such a laughing fit omg, I couldn't stop laughing like a child because I was having so much fun on that ride, I can't lie. I was super bummed that food wasn't a major deal here as I'm always trying to eat. There were mostly fried desserts, corn dogs and one station that provided ided hot food like bbq, but I had really hoped for more fresh fair food. My bf went straight for the sweets and placed an order for fried oreos. In just minutes, they came out fresh and topped with powdered sugar. Can you all believe that I had never had a fried oreo prior to that day?! Having been one who loved sweets (but now I randomly do), I had never wanted to try them before but omg! I understand all of the hype now and I can't wait to have another lol. Idk what I was looking forward to eating, but opted for a corn dog on our way out and it did its thing. As we were heading out, we realized we had one more ticket. My bf saw the huge slide and knowing my goofy self, told me that I should absolutely use the ticket there. What a smart choice. I used to love that ride as a kid so it was a perfect ending to the fun. The walk up to the top of the slide was a littttle longer than ya girl remembered now that I'm in my thirties, lol, but I made it! I got comfy in that little sack, prayed that the cooties left behind on it didn't get me, and I SLIDDDD!! So, maybe this isn't one of the big, glamorous fairs, there still some fun to be had! read more

Do not go! Don"t waste your time or money. Not worth it! Bad trashy location, horrible food, "EXPENSIVE" Each time we purchased something there was an additional $2 charge if we used a debit or credit card. The overall feel is boring and quiet. There is a $10 charge to get in for a bad experience . Oh! and you have to pay for parking as well! We paid $20 to park. This fair was fun but basic. It's more like a carnival but just bigger. Expect to ride stuff you've seen in the past. The food was good but the usual expectations for fair food was not there...not much fried options beyond fries and oreos and funnel cakes. The prices were fair, just be prepared to accept inflation. Parking was as simple as it can get downtown but arrive early. We had fun and may return next year. This is probably a better and more convenient option than the out of town ones. read more

It has been years since I was at the fair, and I was so excited to enjoy my family at the Atlanta Fair! On the freeway it looked so inviting, but as we drove closer it looked a hot ghetto mess! Every part of my body wanted to drive away, but there was an excited 5 year old ready to jump out the car! I entered into this fair and I swear all the men operating the rides looked like they were on work release! There were big electrical cord and water all throughout the walkways. If it was not the children it was the adults stepping over or tripping on cords. They have a so called "deal" for unlimited rides for $25! This my friend is NOT a deal if you have more than one kid and they are under 5. You can do the ticket option but if you plan to ride with your kids you will end up spending about that or more. Each ticket is $1.25 and you need between 2-3 to ride most rides! Not including the $5 you have to pay to get into the fair! The fair is located at Turner Field parking lot basically "the under the bridge lot". The area where most people take a wrong turn when you are going to Turner Field and you hightail it out of there immediately! So venture there at your own risk my friends, I would not recommend it at all! read more

This tiny fair is located in the grey lot of Turner Field. The parking was 5 dollars in a lot across the street on a Wednesday evening. This is the first fair I've been to where you have to pay entrance fee just to get in. This was 3 dollars and then additional money to ride the few rides they had. We ended up paying 25 dollars for 25 tickets. The rides ranged from 2-6 tickets each. The food was mediocre and overpriced. It was 5 dollars for a bag of cotton candy that tasted stale. I wanted to try the funnel cake but was too scared of accidentally eating mold or something. The rides looked like they were falling apart and the only games were the same rigged ones found everywhere. We won a goldfish from one and that was the highlight of the fair. I would not return to this fair. Save up some money and go to Six Flags instead. read more

Want cotton candy? Have a crime to report? You can do it all here! I never would have known about this fair had it not been for the likes of James H. I casually mentioned a jonesing for cotton candy and the man delivered. I not only secured bottomless pink cotton candy, but the opportunity to experience glee, disgust, happiness and horror. The barkers were out in full force. They tried to shame James into winning deformed bears and bootleg cartoon characters. We took a survey of the land. We acknowledged there were a few rides that required our participation. We bought 28 tickets for $25. It seemed more than plenty. The slides were the kind of awesome only slides can be. Slides are infallible. The House of Mirrors was mired in enough dirt and fingerprints that I never actually got around to slamming my face into a glass wall. It was a little too brief for me; I wanted to go through it at least four times. The Himalaya was as abusive and brain-bleed-inducing as I remember. Yay! It was an architectural marvel. The stairs alone were a work of lasting impression [see photo]. I avoided swings and things that make me go "whheeeee" and promptly vomit. We settled on some coked up ferris wheel thing that probably couldn't pass inspection. There was a rock climbing wall, where you could win $100 if you conquered it. James said it was bullshit. The little kid train is in dire need of WD-40. It viciously squeaks and strains across its faux-tracks. In addition to the aforementioned rides, there was the requisite airbrushing booth, an instant photo studio [where you can be photographed against a Cadillac backdrop or else, our favorite, the Tupac & Biggie Smalls portrait], and a . . . . police station? Yep, a mobile police unit. But not really mobile because it's a trailer that's parked and without wheels. There was no shortage of funnel cakes, corn dogs, fashion statements, and swingers. The music is what you'd expect: Stripper Greatest Hits. Children expertly did the "Tootsie Roll" while waiting in line and I shoved more cotton candy in my mouth. Parking is $5. Ok, everyone's rating needs an upgrade. This year they have awesomed it up! New rides...a bunch of new rides. More diverse for all ages, finally my 3 year old had a good selection, as well as an awesome selection for me! They have a petting zoo on wknds. They had a beauty pagent there one wkd. Did I mention more, updated rides? Plus! Half off depot was (possibly still is) offering $12 unlimited rides wristbands (good for mon-thurs). Plus! A few weeks ago, Vanessa T. mentioned to me a craving for cotton candy, and I suggested the Atlanta Fair as a good locale to pick some up. After some weather mishaps we finally got together to go on Sunday. After we each paid the $3.00 entry fee for adults, we entered what essentially amounts to a medium-large parking lot filled with rides and vendors. After Vanessa picked up a small bag of cotton candy, we decided to take a quick tour of the ride options. All throughout, barkers urged me to win a prize for my companion by popping balloons, fishing rubber duckies from a bucket, or sinking free-throws. The high-pressure sell was amusing at first, but we would eventually tire of it. Once we had a good idea of the attractions we wanted to ride, we picked up a book of tickets (28 tickets for $25), and hit the giant slide. We followed that quick fun with a tour of the hall of mirrors, where some of the funhouse mirrors had seen better days--there were duct tape repairs throughout. At most fairs you'll find something like the Himalaya ride--just a simple loop of cars spinning to an inordinately loud soundtrack. We would hit the Himalaya next, with some misgivings to the makeshift stairs (composed of stacked 2x4s) to mount the ride. We would both leave the ride sore (from the whiplash-inducing bumps) and wary of losing our brunch. We debated a couple of other rides--we knew the Gravitron would force a brunch-loss, and Vanessa balked at the pendulum ride whose operator she described as "a sadist" when he kept the riders upside-down for more than the usual few seconds. We finally decided to hit the two-wheeled ferris wheel, which we now affectionately call "The Wheel of Death," because of the constant creaking of the machine around us, the slight twisting of the entire ride in the wind, and the speed at which it rotated, giving the impression that it would catapult us onto the Connector. We left shortly after, happy to get away from the eternally-squeaking train and the barkers and the potential vomitting. I think Vanessa may not have enjoyed the outing as much as I did, but I'm of the opinion that facing death and/or grievous bodily harm from haphazardly-built rides operating well after their service lifetimes is one of the things that makes life worth living. The fair was fun overall but it's set up to be a money pit. You have to pay to get in. I've been to various fairs and I've never had to pay to get in plus pay to ride the rides. I didn't like that. Also they had a cap on the wristbands. You could only use them until 6pm which I also thought was horrible. If you pay for a wristband you can typically use it until close. Very cheap. Overpriced. And some of the rides were shutdown for no reason, some just were ready to leave. But I made the most of it read more

This isn't the huge stat fair that comes ones a year and everyone attends. This is a major scaled down version but gets the job done for a few hrs of fun for the kids. I usually take my daughter every year during the week because it can get really packed on the weekends. Entry during the week is usually $4 and tickets or an unlimited wrist band for $25. They have several games you can play for prizes that are an additional cost. They have a range of foods u could pick from (the reason I go) that include sausages, pizza, hot dogs, funnel cakes, fried Oreos and more. Parking is about $5 - $10 depending on where you want to park. Overall 3 stars. read more

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! This was by far the most disgusting place I have ever experienced, and I feel completely ripped off by Groupon for even purchasing the deal they features ($10 for unlimited rides). I should have known not to even step into the area when I drove past it, but against my better judgement, I gave it a shot with 3 other friends. I ended up warning the other two friends that were on their way to not come. First of all, I didn't realize it was in a seedy area of town. The address is not even correct on the Groupon. There were three homeless men around the gated area of the fair. I had to pay $5 for parking at a very unsecure parking lot, and I'm not even sure if the "parking lot attendant" was an actual attendant. Inside, several of the already few rides available had no attendant. As you walk past the game area where you pay extra to play the games, the hosts baited and taunted my boyfriend for not paying $3~$4 to play a stupid dart game that neither of us were interested in. That's not even the worst part. We happened to walk by one particular game host who muttered "CHING CHONG CHING CHONG" and other racial slurs under his breath just because we shook our heads to say "No, we're not interested." I turned back and said, "What the fuck did you say to me?" and he turned away and pretended like he was busy with something else. It did not escalate beyond that. This is completely unacceptable, especially in this day and age, and I am completely mortified to have even recommended to my friends to purchase this Groupon. When asking around for who was in charge of management, no one seemed to know or care. I was even smirked at for wanting to complain. This fair is a RIP OFF. Please go to the Coweta County Fair or the Gwinnett County Fair when the time comes. Those are REAL fair/carnival experiences. The pictures and the advertisement on the website are completely misleading. This fair is TINY and DIRTY. The workers are completely RUDE and BIGOTED. Do NOT waste your time. read more

I came today (Sunday) This has to have been the most ratchet thing I have ever attended. Then they had the stupidest policy ever. They opened at 1pm and closed at 10pm. Their $25 unlimited wristbands stopped being sold at 5pm. My boyfriend and I got here around 5:30pm. So we had to buy 25 tickets for $25. Each ride takes more that 2 tickets to ride. The employees were a bit....racist. But this was a terrible fair. I only enjoyed it because it's the first fair me and my boyfriend have been to in about 2 years. A few of us came here last Sunday in hopes of indulging in fair food (funnel cake, deep fried oreos, corn dogs oh my!). I was disappointed with the selection (although I was able to satisfy my funnel cake craving), and for the price, there was a shabby selection of rides too. Parking is 5$ at any of the unfortunate looking lots around the area. The fair was pretty crowded, mostly with families with small children. There were a surprising number of security guards (or cops) around the premises which to be completely honest worried me a bit. To sum it up, Fun is what you make it. Yes it was small. Yes the $5 parking was a rip off but that's just Atlanta period. Yes it was dirty. But, it is just your basic fair. If i had paid full price I would have been pissed. But I had gotten 4 unlimited ride Groupon passes for myself and my teenage children for $12 each. It was good family fun during spring break. They maybe have about 8 fun, puke inducing rides. The rest are weak and more for the little kids. The funnel cakes were awesome. The "ice cream" with the flavor swirls tasted more like froyo, and had a weird after taste. Everyone loves the Zero Gravity rides that suck you to the wall. and the Himalaya shook me up, blasted music and I think may have put a nice crook in my back, but hey It was fun. Its great to have the wind blowing through your hair and have the ability to act like a kid again. Like i said, fun is what you make it. No one was rude, there were no bad experiences and it was a good family outing. BUT: they don't open til 5pm and close at 11pm on the Tuesday that I went. All of the reviews were spot on. This place was scary and the best thing there was the Funnel Cake. All of the ride attendants looked like this was community service for convicts or dayworkers. My boyfriend finally walked away after being taken for $40 to try to win a bear for me & our little girl. Food prices are high but what do you expect? It is the fair. It's like movie theatre food prices you know it will be a lot more. Rides are really old looking. I'm suprised they are considered safe!! . Most rides costs between 2 &5 tickets each to ride. I bought $37.50 worth total. $2.00 service fee for using a credit or check card. Tickets spend quickly since costs of ticket rides vary. The zero gravity ride was fun. Took baby girl & her friend on the bumper car like ride. They both enjoyed it. I let them ride many of the rides alone if they were tall enough to stretch the tickets. Kids were mad after we used all the tickets for rides. We just figured we'd quit while we were ahead once we spent over $125 total including food. No point in overdoing it at an over priced carnival.
