The BEST aquarium shop I've ever been to! They have everything you need for your fresh water or even salt water tank. Not to mention the most beautiful fresh/salt water fish and coral! On top of that the accessories they provide are unlimited, from drift wood to dragon stone to plants to any chemicals you need. This family owned business have the best owner and employees, they're so helpful and informative with any help you need. Almost forgot they have 5 gallon jugs of Reverse Osmosis water (which is great for fresh water tanks!) which is only $3.00/5gal they also provide salt water jugs. Peep the cutest pufferfish they have here! read more

I am leaving a 50/50 review. I went to the Atlanta Aquarium July 13th, I purchased about 8 fresh water fish and most of them have been doing great in the aquarium. However, I have had 2 of the fish pass away on me. The photos attached are of 2 separate betas and an orange fish with a black tail. The beta passed away first on the morning of the 14th. I attempted to call the store to which I received and automated "busy phone line voicemail" on multiple occasions. I went to the business the same day and received help from a nice woman. She replaced my beta and tested my waters ph and it showed no signs of being too low or high. We decided to add a bubbler to the tank to supply more oxygen and she told me to let them know how the fish (orange fish pictured was doing afterward) orange fish was still alive at the time I went to the store. I came back home and saw that said orange fish passed away :(. The replaced beta that she gavee today is already mainly swimming at the bottom of the tank (really hardly at all). After confirmation that I have been providing a good amount environment/life for the fish I am conflicted if I'd like to continue purchasing fish from this location. They have such a great variety of fresh and saltwater fish, plants and rocks. The staff is super helpful and sweet. I just don't know if all of the fish are healthy. While I was there I saw one of the workers suction out a dead beta (the exact same color wave as the one I just replaced) it's a koi beta. I really hope my new beta survives but it is already exhibiting signs of the same other 2 fish that passed way. Photos posted on previous review. read more

Fantastic selection of marine aquaria Great customer service Super knowledgable staff read more

Very helpful owners. They know coral. One can get lost in just looking at the large amount of corals for sale! read more

Who are these other nimrod reviewers in here confusing this store for The Atlanta Aquarium attraction? This is regarding a STORE with a similar name....which draws my suspicion. Why give your store a similar title? Or is it to garner grade A business reviews. Bought a coral beauty, brought it home to an empty of fish 100 gal tank cycling forever (yearsj with corals and macro algae. The CB swam about for days...never really consuming anything but some hair grass, a week later, noticed a frontal body infection...died 2 days later...nm the meds applied. Beginning to thing (hit n miss), selling off infected fish..russian roulette with this business, I'm afraid....in addition, noticed some ich covered marine fish as well as dead ones laying about upon the substrate ....guess nemo's or pure reef will be my next destination read more

Loves it there ! So much to see and explore ! It was clean and staff was very friendly ! Great place for anyone to visit !

The place was packed. The exhibits are well-maintained and entertaining. I'm already thinking about a return trip.

I have a lot of issues with this store however I will start off by saying the owner Rit is very friendly and nice however the other staff not so much, you walk around inching throughout the store aimlessly hoping for someone to help you yet no one comes and the other staff seem occupied either feeding fish or on their phones. This is the second and last time I've walked into the store waited around for 20 minutes to be helped and left and even asked a staff member who told me to get the "boss" who was occupied for 30 minutes with one customer. I'm so sick and tired of this happening to me do you not realize you need to make sales to keep a store running? How do you expect for that to happen with this lowest quality of customer service! Unbelievable, MAJOR changes will have to be done for me and other customers to return. read more

This place is amazing , they have very thing and not only is there selection wide , THEY TAKE CARE OF THE FISH. Quality over convenience. All my aquatic fish are from this place. They have saltwater, plants , freshwater , large fish , small fish , invertebrates, chichilds . Come to this place expecting quality and for it to be your local go to fish store. I've been coming for around a year and they have never failed. read more

After a disappointment at another local fish store, we stopped at Atlanta Aquarium. Wow, they bent over backwards helping us out. After a few questions about my setup, we put together a small clean up crew. They absolutely need a bigger store as the walkways were pretty cluttered with products but the selection was great and most important, the tanks were clean and well maintained. I thought the frags seemed a little pricey but most appeared very healthy and I will be back when the tank is ready. I am also getting ready to set up a freshwater labidochromas tank and will hopefully be able to stock it from there as well. read more

Great prices and a wonderful selection of corals and fish. We have never had an issue with any of the items we've purchased here. Rit really loves his customers and makes it worth your while on every visit. Every time we stop by, which is about once a week, the store gets bigger and better. They have inventory which includes test kits, water supplements and the various other must haves you need to maintain your saltwater aquarium. We recently made a large purchase of a new protein skimmer which is working out great!! The corals Rit offers are vibrant and healthy, which is nice when you dont know how they will adjust to your tank. We've never had anything die to any fault of AA. *Ahem!! I may have had an acclimation problem in my past* Its a bit of a drive for us from Midtown but our tank looks more beautiful as each month goes by. read more

Wow! Simply amazing. This is one of the best reef stores I've been in. I am a New Yorker and I have to say, there a few LFS that can outshine the Atlanta aquarium. They have an amazing staff, stunning tanks, Colonies!, and best of all aquacultured corals for a seller price. read more

They have a wide range of freshwater and saltwater fish, food, water conditioners, plants, and tanks. The owners are super nice!

Went in today to get some plants for our new aquarium and Rick was more than helpful! Our new aquarium is looking better than ever!!!

Rit spent a solid 30 minutes educating me about freshwater fish tank set up and caring for a sick fish. His expertise and caring helped more than I can say during a stressful time. In addition to the "in-store" training, I made ten more phone calls to him that evening. Rit and the other lady there (so sorry I don't have her name) gave me their full attention, and weren't even irritated that I was bothering them so much. I will never go anywhere else. read more

Wow the fish here are really beautiful... Lot of Nemos... I could stand there all day watching the fish... They have all the exotic variety of fishes here.. huge tanks.. My wife also liked this place :-) They even supply water for the fish tanks depending on what type you need.. salt or fresh.. which I thought was really good.. You can come in and fill it up yourself and pay per gallon.. without having to worry about treating it yourself when you are dealing with exotic and costly fishes.. I realized that I saw quite a few of them when I went snorkeling in the Dry tortugas in key west.... read more

This place is amazing. I've never had the actual budget to run a personal saltwater tank, but I have had my feet wet when it comes to freshwater tanks and very much enjoy anything and everything fish and aquascaping related. It should also be noted this is not the Georgia Aquarium-- even if you google Atlanta Aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium will pop up. You have to add pet store to even find their facebook. But yes, Atlanta Aquarium isn't the Georgia Aquarim and is a store full of tanks, exotic fish, and equipment for all your aquatic hobbiest needs. The selection here will make you feel really inspired. There are corals, live rock, kits galore, all sorts of gorgeous tropical fish. We just wandered around and studied all they had in stock. From just an onlookers perspective, the whole place seemed well maintained and the fish seemed healthy. They knew what they were doing. While those unfamiliar with the prices on exotic fish and saltwater equipment might balk in comparison to your standard freshwater species at any other local fish store, AA also seems to offer a few deals through their FB page. May be worth a look if you have a budding saltwater enthusiast or you yourself are looking for something particular. I'd give Atlanta Aquarium a consideration for anyone who is interested in the science and tech behind a Saltwater tank or just to get some inspiration. read more

The best fish and coral store in the Atlanta area. The owner can also help you get any equipment you need. Been coming here for many years.

I have been in this store 3 times and intend to visit much more in the future. They are so friendly and helpful no pressure on what to buy. They never rush you even tho they always have a lot of people in the store. I love this store and all of the people. They have been very helpful in helping me select the products i need for a saltwater aquar. I am so happy i found this store. glenda read more

There's a lot of variety of saltwater fish and sea creatures in the store; there's a big variety of coral, too. I don't know much about saltwater fish or saltwater aquariums but if I were to start one, I would probably come here because it's local and because I could probably get everything in one stop. They also have some bettas and goldfish in the store. The store can get really humid and muggy so if you feel the need to step out and take a breath of fresh air, go ahead and do so. read more

I generally like the store, and they usually have a good selection at decent prices. Unfortunately, when I was in the other day they had begun carrying some dyed/painted fish which is extremely cruel. Not glofish, I have no problem with that, but dyed fish go through an extremely painful bleaching and dying process that kills a huge number of them. read more

I've been going here for a few years. Rit is always more than helpful, very knowledgeable and they have great prices.

I took my 12 yo son to shop for fish for the 15 gal aquarium he got for his birthday. He already had one rainbow cichlid, and he liked them. Not knowing at the time, I asked the owner how many would fit in a 15 gal tank and he recommended 6! We bought 5 at $15 each, as well as some plants from another tank...which was stocked with fish.. My boy spent his own money on fish, plants and supplies--$300. Not only were we oversold fish, his fish were all sick and dying from Ich in two weeks. I struggled with trying to save them, and he currently has only one left. He is heart broken. read more

Great selection and knowledgeable friendly advice. The corals I bought are doing exceptionally well.

Rit has done a great job with this store. He is always welcoming and full of knowledge, especially about corals. I have known Rit many years, even before he opened his store. Awesome fish and tanks. Very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Almost bought a beta fish today for Christmas, but can't afford the stuff for it right now. Beta fish variety is awesome and the fish look healthy for the fair prices. Could get a beta from Petco for twice the price and it wouldn't be nearly as healthy. Overall, five stars! Will definitely buy my beta fish from here for Christmas. read more

This is my most favorite place on the planet for purchasing my tropical fish. Their prices are more than fair, the customer service is off the charts, and they really do a great job of maintaining the quality of their water. I live all the way by the airport and absolutely don't mind the commute knowing that I am in for a great experience. I wish they had a bigger place to support more inventory. This place is a jewel of a business, one at which I absolutely enjoy spending my hard earned dollars. read more
