I think the location must have recently had an exterior remodel because there was absolutely NO visible signage to let you know where it's at. BUT this store is pretty nice! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the owner. I told him how my tank got Ich and how all of my sons fish died. He went into great detail of how the fish contract it, gave me a couple products to use for the future and told me what to do if it returns. When you walk in, it doesn't look too big but once you go to the back of the store, there's a huge variety of fish. If you have a freshwater tank, like me, there isn't a wide selection of fish. If you have a salt water tank, you'll be in heaven! Jacqueline was very informative. She explained to me what fish could swim together and which ones were aggressive. I'm sure I'll return! The fish can be a little pricey but you can tell they are well taken care of. Also make sure to watch your step because the grounds are a bit wet. read more

An amazing facility. Staff made it clear they were there to help, but they didn't get in our way. We browsed the entire place, checking out all the exotic fish and the amazing setups they've got. These people know their business. They have everything you need for your fresh and salt-water tanks. They can even sell you some amazingly custom setups if you want to upgrade from that 20-gal tank you have sitting in your living room. The fish seemed well-cared for. But don't go in expecting pristine conditions. I was reminded of my time in a biology lab--but that's how I know these folks are doing the right things. Recently went to The Fish Store to pick up a clean up crew for a new reef tank. While this place has always had the warehouse look, it was my go-to store in the past due to the knowledge of the staff and the spotless holding tanks. This time I was very disappointed. Most of the salt water holding tanks were empty and I only saw one type of snail. There may have been some emerald crabs but could not find them. The salt water holding tanks were pretty filthy as well. The frag tanks were mostly barren and hard to see. On the freshwater side, the labidochromis tank had some decent dwarf cichlids but they were feasting on dead fish.. I stopped to look at some supplies (test kits) and found that they were water damaged with crusting salt on the boxes..... And as for help, there was none. The three people there spent the entire time sitting at the register talking to each other while their dog ran around the store jumping on customers. My only interaction with them was unacceptable and rude.... I won't be back. This place must have sold... read more

Let me start by saying that the girl that works part time at the register on the weekends is fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and professional. However, other than her this store is not one that I could recommend. I purchased an Orange Shoulder Tang on a Sunday from this store. It was about twenty over priced but I knew this and didn't want to wait so I went ahead and purchased the fish. Got the fish home and placed into a fresh set up 20l QT tank. This was the first fish in and the only one there at the time. By Tuesday the Fish had literally EXPLODED with ich and it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to make it. Cleated Cooper (Fritz) was added and taken to recommend therapy levels. The fish died the following Thursday ( Four days later). I contacted the store on February 9th for two reasons: One to let them know that there is definitely ich in the system and two to ask for a partial refund or store credit. This fish was sick from the time that I bought it. It went into a clean, fresh QT with no other fish. I didn't hear anything back from the store so the following week I went in and talked to staff and asked about a store credit and was told that they didn't have the authority to issue one. I left my name and contact information but wasn't called back. Still with no response I messaged again. I got my first response back from them 15 days later stating that they would contact the owner and see what he wanted to do. Patrick finally reached out to me and left a message March 1st and left me a voicemail. I tried to call back and was finally able to speak to him around a week later. He advised me on what he uses to treat sick fish and how he understood that maybe I didn't know how to qt or treat fish. Patrick did offer to take my concern about the store refund to the owner, that's been around two weeks and I've not heard back. So at this point I'm just chalking it up as a loss. So if you chose to purchase from this store, be warned, that they positively had ich in the system and that if you have any issues it's next to impossible to get a response back. read more

Boy, was Marineland angry when I called about what this place did. They sold me a used tank....then robbed all the extra parts off the new tank like it in the store....bulkheads, lids, etc. The store charged me for all the extra parts that where not on the used tank. The lids were smashed. The Fish Store lied about ordering new ones....and stopped taking my calls. So, I called Marineland to get new lids. Since Marineland warranties their products for life, they sell everything together as a kit. When I told them what happened...the guy was furious. He asked me what exact store did this to me, and they sent me a whole set of lids free of charge. Be warned...I could have gotten the brand new aquarium kit for what they piece parted the used one for. read more

Good: Lots of variety in saltwater and freshwater. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Bad: This is definitely a "buy at your own risk" store, where the cost of cheap variety is fish that die and/or have parasites. I've had several fish come home and go belly up for no apparent reason, and another shipment contaminated my entire tank with ich. They take no responsibility, they offer no refunds. This is not a pet store, it's a livestock display store. If you buy here, enjoy the variety, but assume they are all infected. Plan to quarantine them yourself and expect to lose some stock. Do not expect the store to care about this or refund your purchase. I learned this the hard way. read more

I stopped by "the fish store"Sunday after church to purchase a Royal Gramma. Acclimated fine, but I noticed a couple white spots on it the 2nd day. Anyways, the fish died on the 4th day in my qt while being treated with copper. Called the store to see if they would replace or discount a 2nd fish. Was told once I leave the store its basically my problem. Awesome! Won't be back. Please QT everything you purchase here. PS. Careful pulling in/pulling out. I keep giving this place a shot, and they keep disappointing me. I came in for water for my 100 gallon tank. There were not a lot of customers (3 to be exact), but it still took over 30 minutes before I received service. I was not greeted when I entered, nor did any one ask if I needed assistance as I wandered around the store patiently waiting for one of the 4 associates to assist me (yes, there were more associates than customers). When I finally received assistance and made my purchase, they did not offer to assist getting my 20 gallons to my vehicle. I only came to this store because my usual LFS was another 30 minute ride. Next time I'll travel the extra miles to receive the extra customer care. I will say the tanks were much cleaner than my previous visits. They also have a large assortment of marine fish, but the prices are not competitive, AT ALL! 20-30% more than other locations. read more

Went here with my boyfriend this weekend as he is a fishophile and had just gotten a new tank (exciting). I think it's a family run mom and pop store. VERY warm, friendly, nice people! As soon as you walk in, they all acknowledge you and say hello and throughout our hour long visit, they were extremely accommodating and helpful in checking on us. Beautiful gem of a store. Awesome saltwater fish selection. Just to see the different types of saltwater beauties is a treat. So many kinds of clownfish! I didn't even know there was a white furry looking one that looks like my dog, Ella!!! So tickled~ He picked out a couple of fish tank accoutrements and different types of live rock/algae... The front room is more of a show room with tanks and the pretty colorful showpiece tanks - in the back larger room is a mine of saltwater life. It's MUGGY and HUMID and SALTY in here. Kinda nice, but be prepared to carry your jacket around in the winter months. Again, emphasis on helpful, professional, knowledgable staff. *also NO TOUCHING read more

Went here with my friend today and at first was very impressed with their selection. I called before I went as I am over an hour away and was told they had 80-100 Corydoras to choose from. That's exactly what I was looking for. I got there and talked to the owner, who directed me to the tanks where they should be. He told me that's where they were then walked away. After looking through the tanks for several minutes because they were very unorganized and overstocked we found maybe 3 different species of corys with only 1/2 of each species other than the albino. No one that worked there seemed to know anything about any of the fish. (I got home and after looking at the fish realized the two fish they sold me as "slate or black" corys were green corys that don't often live peacefully with the ones I already have) After trying very hard to get someone to help us get the fish we did want, we went up to the counter and ended up having to wait almost 25 minutes before anyone helped us. All while the owner was standing there just chatting away with a man. It's a very cool place to look at but I don't recommend going if you actually want to buy something. read more

It always seems to be a chore to give these people my money. Takes forever to get fish bagged and there is always a problem with the register. They try and look up each item on the register. There is this thing called barcodes. Take the time to add your inventory to the register. They did have the best frozen food selection I have seen. This is the closest store to me. I have been shopping elsewhere, an expensive place in Marietta where I always knew they charged too much for their saltwater fish as well as their saltwater 1.50 per gallon. Since then I started buying my fish online but just last week I went to warehouse aquarium and fell in love. I couldn't believe the amount of fish they had, even rare fish like a black tang and gem tang. The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The prices were much lower than the other place I was going to, and were very comparable to what I purchased online. They only charge 1.00 per gallon. I told the staff that I would certainly be coming back even if the location is out of my way, it's worth it. The fish by the way, looked healthy and active. This place is awesome! My girlfriend and I were in town for business and the aquarium was too expensive, so we settled on the next best thing. We own two aquariums at home and though we weren't looking to buy anything (and have to lug/ship it home), the staff was exceptionally helpful to the point where I felt a little guilty for taking up their time without intending to buy anything. Their selection of livestock is one of the best I've seen; they have a lot of exotic species I don't normally see in my own LFS. My only complaint was that the lighting in the livestock room was a bit dimmer than I'd otherwise hope when shopping, but every store is different and I'm sure they have their reasons. This store in extremely rude and unprofessional. They mishandled a fish tank causing all of the fish to die due to their delay in properly cleaning the tank. They were called last week to respond to an issue with a fish tank. They never returned the call. They had to constantly be called before they came to try to resolve the issue. By the time they arrive all of the fish but one were dead. When trying to resolve the issue the general manager blamed the condition of the fish tank on the customer, charged his card for coming to fix the issue and REFUSED to replace the fish. Customer service was terrible. They play the blame game and wash their hands of any problems that are their fault. All they care about is your money. read more

They have the largest selection of salt water fish/corals in the area. Fish look very healthy. Ashley provided me the best customer service I've ever experienced at any fish store. She even hung around and helped me after the store closed. She was really knowledgeable and she really cares for the well being of all their fish. I got a great deal for a very healthy baby blue tang today. Also, I saw customers' tanks that they were fishsitting...so I'm planing to have them ship my fish to me when I move to texas in december. read more

The Warehouse Aquarium is tucked inconspicuously into a strip mile just adjacent to the MARTA station (seriously, if you're using public transit, you could walk from the station in 15 minutes). The front of the shop is tiny, but don't despair - through the doorway in the back is the "fish room", a gigantic open space with dozens of tanks. The huge open space was well-ventilated by two roll up doors in the back and an industrially sized exhaust fan, so no significant smells. Don't expect fancy music or a polished retail environment, it is all about the fish in the Warehouse Aquarium. But, to be honest, I'd like it to be a little more about the fish than the WA manages. Some of the tanks looked a little iffy and some of their occupants were visibly unhappy. WA says that they get new shipments of fish every Friday, and they get less volume during the summertime when according to the owner "nothing sells!!". Prices were in the middling to high range. Since I appear to be doing a saltwater price census of the Atlanta metro area, I'll say that so far WA appears to be in the middle of the pack, selling pre-mixed saltwater for $1.00 a gallon (BYO container, of course). Live rock is $7.99/lb. Neat assortment of freshwater fish including some neat koi. Make sure you swing by the large open tank to check out the GIANT Titan Triggerfish, and watch your fingers...he spent a lot of time while we were there with his teeth several inches above the water. Watch your doors in the narrow parking stalls; right next door to the Warehouse Aquarium is a head shop and some of those guys anxious to get their rolling papers for their hand-rolled tobacco aren't too careful about slamming their doors. Also, the doors are always locked and the sign is blank, so I'm assuming you have to be a recommended customer to know the secret knock? read more

This might as well be the best review i have ever posted. So my boyfriend and I are starting a salt water aquarium and so with that we have visited the fish store. The very first day was exciting and such we got help and then they had suggested we buy their premade salt water which wasn't a half bad idea since we are new to this. So we purchased 20 gallons of salt water with the absolutely wrong salinity (they make this in the store in the back for premade purposes) after testing the water and seeing it was 1.018 which apparently it should be between 1.021-1.026 so if ur wondering all their fish are in low water I've seen plenty of dead fish in their store and TRAVIS who got an attitude and the ego the size of the whole store who mixes the salt water had a huge I guess I should say temper tantrum with us over the phone and yelled at us saying we should not come back and hung up the phone on us not trying to fix or compensate the mistake he has made. I have no clue what type of running this store is doing but it doesn't look good to me! Beware never come here go to another store!!!! read more

It's like that. Now, if only they had great sales/discounts,,, Oh wait - They had that too. I ended up paying half as much as I expected. This store seemed less interested in money and more interested in helping you create and keep awesome aquatic pets. They even gave me some java moss for free, since it grows so fast and I wanted to buy a bunch. "Wait a few weeks. I'm sure it'll be plenty." I've been a customer for 10 years, I have spent a lot of money with them and followed them to a few locations, buckhead, sandy springs and the current location. Since they replaced the management the quality of livestock and the lack of a nice helpful staff has declined to the point the where I will never go back. If your looking for a good store with great livestock, good prices and nice helpful people I would try Atlanta aquarium or Optimum aquarium. read more

So I went on Monday to buy some food to see if I could rescue a wrasse that was in bad shape. Never used the food because the wrasse was dead on Tuesday morning. The place is close on Tuesdays so I couldn't return the food on Tuesday. I did go on Wednesday and they didn't give a refund because is "their policy" (I was making a return in less than 48 hours). As you can see on the image of the receipt attached it doesn't said anything about frozen food. They told me that that was the policy and I ask if the policy was on their website, they said that the website is in construction and they don't have any written policy. Looks like they don't understand customer service. I you mistreat your clients they are not coming back. The place is huge and has a great selection of fish, but the customer service is terrible. Also who in retail closes at 7 PM on weekdays? I been is this hobby for over 6 years and I never a LFS with this poor customer service. read more

Bought $70 pump got it home and it wouldn't fit in compartment on my tank. I didn't even plug it in. Took it back the next day and The Fish Store would not refund my money. I was going to take store credit but they told me credit is only good for "dry goods." I could have bought this pump from Amazon but chose to go here to support local business. Called "The Fish Store" whom I have spent several thousands with to see if they carried the filters for the Vortech that slide over the top. Natalie who answered the phone said "ummm well I am not sure if we do or not". Long pause, no other words exchanged. Oh, am I not calling the store? "Oh yes, but I don't know if we carry those or not *giggle giggle*. Well by all means NATALIE don't let me inconvenience you that you should go look or check with someone that may have a clue. I mean dry storage is after all about 10 steps from your desk. Why are you even answering phone?!? I mean I know you must be horribly busy since opening 10 minutes ago! Horrible customer service and I will not be back. This potential $12 purchase lost you several thousand. Not even not having them just the little giggly girl that couldn't be bothered. I mean I could understand you were not sure and having to check or that you don't have them but to not even bother to check and see if you have them. What a TOTAL JOKE this store has become! Others in the area go way above to check and one even said they didn't have them and looked to see if they had spares they could just give me. New in the area and started visiting local aquarium shops. Was told by a few people to check out The Fish Store. I stopped in on a Thursday afternoon was greeted by a young lady who was very polite and cheerful. The store looked well stocked but saw only display tanks. I was told the fish room was in the back. I walked to the back and was met by a wave of heat it had to be 90 degrees back there. I noticed all the employees were soaked obviously they weren't swimming but sweating LOL. Fish room was huge fairly well stocked noticed many off the fish looked sickly I saw Ich, fin rot, hole in head if you have a sick fish go there they will have an example in their tanks so you can confirm what you have. I wandered around a bit and asked where the tanks that were for sale were? I was directed to the very back of the fish room where I saw a few larger tanks for sale and was amazed they weren't cracked or broken because clearly a bomb had gone off back there. I expected super low pricing as this is a barebones operation but was flabbergasted at how high the prices were. I had visited other stores that week that were beautiful and found their pricing far less for far better quality. I was leaving and noticed multiple cameras in the ceiling on the walls etc... so I jokingly asked an employee had they been robbed before? The employee replied the cameras are so the owner can watch them and make sure they are staying busy. I laughed and said is the owner not in the store and the employee pointed to a man who was dressed like he was going deep sea fishing. I was going to go ask him why his pricing was so much more than other local stores but he was busy talking to an employee.
