She opted to test for Covid and the flu which is understandable. The tests both came back negative and I stated I would need antibiotics because it's the only thing that works or I'll get worse. She said that I should simply rest and it'll run its course. Not listening to her patient caused me to get pneumonia and now I'm out of work again with worse symptoms way more pills to take all because they won't give antibiotics or listen to their patients.

I was assigned to Katlyn Lavin PA-C. My initial visit seemed fine but a little off. The nurse in charge of taking my initital vitals was pleasant enough, even though she seemed a bit unsure of herself. When she attempted to take my temperature she explained that the thermometer was a "bit temperamental". She was unable to make it work and said we would get back to that. Although we never did. Also, in taking a basic eye test, they made me stand in a hall with one eye covered reading letters off a chart. Seems easy enough. Except, at least 3 people walked down the same narrow hall which was incredibly distracting. All of that could be overlooked if the rest was consistent, but far from it. I had several blood tests taken as well as an EKG. I was told that if anything was off with the results, the doctor would call. I was also asked to make an appointment for the following week to have a Holter monitor attached for 48 hours. While speaking to the woman at the front desk, she asked if I needed an appointment card. i did not as I had entered it in my phone. When I showed up Monday, no one had put me in the books. Perhaps, they need to make their own appointment cards. After only a short wait (once again, this makes sense now), my monitor was put in place and then I was handed an appointment for a specialist in Springfield. I was told my blood results were not back yet, they were setting up a total of 3 appointments with different specialists for varying conditions. I am all for being cautious, but this seemed completely peculiar as I just had the monitor put on AND, the PA still had not called. 2 days later, I returned the monitor. Katlyn was not in the office and my blood results still weren't in. This was a week after the "2-3 day" window they had initially told me it would take. Funnily enough, when I opened my mail 2 hours later, my blood results were there with some pretty shocking news. News that the Dr. or PA or whomever was supposed to call me with. I called for 2 days in a row to ask questions. Stacey told me Katlyn was with other patients and she would hand deliver the messages. No reply. But I keep getting mail from the appointments set up from specialists. This seems to be a practice that treats patients like a Production Line. Don't waste your time as they clearly won't waste theirs.

I waited over 20 hours and I was not told about something happening to my body I have every right to know about. You have been a surgeon for how long? You know how you present surgeries. This was intentionally left out otherwise I would of known if this was discussed at my consultation. Don't ever think because you are a surgeon you can just do whatever without discussion. You created a false sense of security. You continued woth surgery when I would of left you violated my rights and body and have taken away my trust in anyone for surgery ever again. I am not grateful, or thankful for you and not a day does by where I wish I knew what hospital I could go to where I am respected as a patient and human being. You and your team were awful that day. Maybe if your team was upfront and honest that things would of been different. Instead there were lies and things done without consent and people writing disrespectful letters making up excuses for piss poor, so called medical professionals. My life would of been better without this surgeon and his staff being in it. He did absolutely nothing heroic, or life saving. Another hospital could of done the same surgery and been ethical. ​

He then handed me a Discussion and Consent printout and requested I sign it. He explained that it did not mean I was obligated to proceed with surgery, but that we had discussed it, including risks of complications. I signed it, expecting a discussion. He then rushed out! His receptionist gave me a date for surgery. After some online research which included NIH research articles, I became concerned about a serious complication (ENS) reported by a fairly significant number of patients as well as the abysmal level of overall patient satisfaction a year after this surgery (inferior turbinate reduction). I called Dr. Wexler's office to postpone the surgery until we could go over the liklihood of complications. His office did call, but only to confirm that I was cancelling the surgery so they could take it off his schedule. I was stunned that: 1) he could not be bothered going over possible complications either during my office visit or after being specifically asked before surgery took place; 2) at the high level of patient dissatisfaction with this surgery and; 3) that a serious complication was not even listed on his printout.

I got shit service. I'm not a pill seeker. I have a long record of trying different pain relieving meds, acupuncture, chiropractor, pt, non narcotic pain meds. None work. Unfortunately the only thing that works are opioids. I wish something else worked. But they don't, so they see me as a druggie looking for a fix. Nothing could be further from the truth. Then the incompetent nurse that i had actually said that oxycodone is legal heroin. Ummm, no! Its not! Then she says we dont give that here, its our policy. BULLSHIT. I have a very bad back and went to the er a couple months ago, they gave me 6 days worth. Against the policy, huh? She needs to be fired for lying and her incompetence. I wish i knew her name. Is it any wonder that this place gets such bad reviews? Some staff is competent. The rest should not work there. ​oh, all they gave me, even though the worry was high...an ace bandage and crutches. Extremely unprofessional. Especially when people in the field, including my advocate said I need an xray or MRI sooner than later. They did absolutely none of that.

They need to hire someone that understands time management and can coordinate the patients better. Having someone sit and wait for five hours that is just there to receive a follow up shot and doesn't even need to see a doctor, seems very unnecessary. They should hire someone that can coordinate better. Order the shot and then have someone administer it when they have a free minute....seems pretty obvious but I just don't think they have an experienced enough staff at this location. I understand some people are more sick than others, but a quick shot would not interfere with seeing the other patients. It literally takes under a minute. They also shouldn't waste their time responding to every negative comment with the same cookie-cutter response about how they're looking into it and trying to make things better... Because they clearly are not. At least change up your response so that it looks like you're reading the comments
