I moved to…read moreAustin from Atlanta, and, as many people have had to do the same, I began my quest to find the best hairstylist. I tried a few different stylists at Path, and while they were all really good, Ashley is amazing. First time she did my cut and color she was able to get my color exactly where I wanted it to be, and the cut was so flattering and a great update to what I had. She's also really nice, which you want when you're sitting there for a few hours. The second I found out she was opening her own spot, I knew I'd be following. Finding someone as awesome as Ashley isn't easy, and it was worth an extra 5-10 minute drive (or half an hour if that's what it took). The selfish part of me wants to keep her a secret, but she deserves success so book an appointment!

She really takes her time to make sure I'm happy with the length of all pieces, especially my face framing curtain bangs. She got my hair back in shape after another salon ruined my cut. So thankful I found her, and that she got me back to feeling like myself :) As far as color goes, she is a hair painting wizard - seriously, she is very talented! I typically do partial highlights, toner on the roots, and if she decides it needs something extra I trust her (ex: extra blonding on the ends). I'm blonde but particular about the shade, and she nailed it from day 1. Plus, no harsh lines here - she knows how to give you a very soft grow-out. If you are blonde and looking for a new stylist, she is incredible and one you can trust! Besides all the hair stuff, she is such a sweetheart! My appointments are between 4 to 5 hours, and it's always so fun chatting with her. She is incredibly professional and just a blast to be around. I cannot recommend her (and her salon!) highly enough!

Well. It finally happened. I had to edit my once 5 star review. I had previously gone to Stephanie…read morefor a color correction and she did GREAT! However, when i came back to get balayage done recently, it was almost like she was a different hair dresser. I didn't want to cute too much off because i really like my long hair, however by the end of it, more than four inches were cut off. Furthermore, my hair isn't cut even at all (see photo, it's the same around my whole head. I took one photo with wet hair and one of dry hair.) But what really disappointed me was how i didn't even get what i wanted. My hair looks nothing like the photo i showed Stephanie, it almost looks like i didn't do a single thing to my hair. My hair is also now super damaged from before. I used to be able to brush my hair wet no problems, and not worry about brushing my hair through the day. But now it's like i can't go anywhere without a brush. My hair CONSTANTLY TANGLES. Overall, really disappointed with my second visit. Now I'll just wait a couple of months for my hair to grow out and try a different salon.

And in conclusion; her haircuts are the best, her personality is rad, her location and suit are comfortable and relaxing- book now with her! So here I am 6 years later and I decided to treat myself (birthday treat yo' self) and looked up reviews so I could set a hair salon appointment. I thankfully found Salon Dez and read all the awesome reviews. Soo glad I found her as she will be my go to for all my hair needs. I could tell she really knew her stuff as when I had done my hair in the past I'd have to explain and re-explain myself on what I hoped and envisioned (I'd always show pictures as well). Dez made it so easy, and knew exactly what I was wanting. I enjoyed her going over in detail what she was going to do before she got into it. Great communication. I even learned about the two colors she mixed to get me the nice vibrant magenta color I wanted. She's great at anticipating and calming your potential anxieties and that made for a truly relaxing experience the day before my birthday. I've been recommending her to my closest friends.

This place does show being closed on Mondays, so I guess I understand them not answering . The other time I called was the today, Tuesday , in which they say they're open. I was interested in getting my makeup and hair done for a work Christmas party. This place has decent reviews, and is right by my house. However, no one has contacted me back,so I'm now I'm scrambling and needing to go elsewhere. I figure,if you're a legitimate business, with a phone number and your business hours show as open, that you should answer the call or at least return voicemails left on your Google phone number with an Austin area code - that make it look like you're using to try and make yourself appear legit in this area. Austin has no shortage of good hair stylists, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It is unfortunate, but that's how it goes when businesses don't respond to potential new clients. Updated review: Ally called me and explained why she didn't call back sooner.
