Why not... so I stopped to check out the situation. I'm always game for street tacos. Cesar's Quick Lunch is the name of the biz. It was parked on Penn Valley Road in the True Value hardware parking lot. Next to the truck are a couple of picnic tables with sun umbrellas. The tables are painted a super cute lime green. Street tacos $1.75. Meat choices: Asada, carnitas, al pastor, Chile verde, and pollo. Burritos $7. Nachos $7. Tortas $7. Bottled Mexican Cokes and Jarritos. Ya! Soda made from real cane sugar and not that HFCS madness. I ordered an asada and a pastor street taco each. The plate came with sliced limes and slices of jalapeños. Mmmm... both tacos were good! But the al pastor was a big hit with me. It was so darn flavorful. It was a bit messier to eat because of that awesome marinade. I'm not complaining tho. Delicious! They also cater. Check them out on Instagram and Facebook. Plus they take cash and plastic: Visa, MC, AMEX, and Discover. #CesarsQuickLunchTacoTruckInPennValley

I was driving…read morethrough Grass Valley, with the intention of visiting one of their great pasty shops to fuel me on my 12 or more hour journey. To my disappointment, both shops were closed. Searching frantically for an alternative, I noticed a food truck sitting in a parking lot. Clarky's BBQ. "Eh, BBQ's usually pretty expensive," I said to myself, "but I'm in a hurry and I'm starving," so I decided to give it a try. I walked up to the window and asked the lady what she recommended and she said she really likes the chicken sandwich, I think it's called the Southwest chicken sandwich, or something to that effect. So I said alright, I'll take that. The price was around $16 at the time, which I thought was about standard for a BBQ chicken sandwich. The picture on the menu showed a sandwich on a round bun, and I was thinking it would be like most BBQ sandwiches, about the size of a hamburger. I thought "man that's kinda pricey if it's hamburger size," but I eagerly awaited the arrival of the sandwich. I'm here to tell you that after I opened that package I was happy to have paid every cent of that $16 dollars because what a sandwich! This wasn't some 4 inch hamburger bun with a piece of chicken on it. This thing must have been at least 6 inches in diameter! It was loaded with tender smoked boneless chicken thighs, a soft melty white cheese, and ortega chilis. There might have been some other veggies as well but I can't remember. I was quite full by the time I got halfway through, but it was so good I just. Couldn't. Stop. Eating. I finished that whole sandwich in one sitting, and it was good to the last bite! The flavor was unreal, by far the best BBQ chicken I've ever had and maybe the best BBQ overall. The cheese flavor was perfect with the smoky chicken, and the chilis added just the right kick. I think this might be the best sandwich I have ever had, I think about it all the time! I've gotta have it again soon! Thank's Clarky's for a great experience!

You will find them at special events and at designated areas around Grass Valley and Penn Valley. Their menu changes weekly so be sure to sign up so you can know what is being served. My absolute favorite is their sliced Tri-Tip sandwich, which unfortunately hasn't been in their rotation lately. It is a nice hearty portion, and the meat flavor is so good you don't need much sauce.
