Lots of cool wooden…read morethings. Walpole Woodworkers is a home and garden type of place that has an incredible selection of mundane but also unusual and unique items. Of course a lot of the stuff is wood, like fences, cool light posts and mail box poles, huge and elaborate play sets for kids, nice sheds, gazebos and pavilions, tables, chairs and stools and my favorite, little wooden bridges. I've always wanted a bridge in my back yard, just wish I had a stream or river to put it over. Walpole also has some very cool and creative gates, arbors, cupolas and lattice thingies. If you actually make it inside the store you will see gigantic and very impressive looking bird houses. These aren't just little boxes nailed to a pole but a seemingly endless variety of shapes and sizes for everything from humming birds to pterodactyls. Lots of bird baths so the avians in the houses can stay clean and cool spheres, thermometers, wind chimes, garden critters and great looking weather vanes. Even high quality basketball hoops and backboards. All kinds of things that you probably never thought of but once you see will desperately desire. Some of the stuff you can take home in your pocket, other things you need a huge truck to move. I love going here just to look around, I seem to find new things every time. Sure, a lot of the stuff is basically useless and unnecessary and this isn't Wal-Mart, the prices aren't cheap. But if you are looking for a bird house that probably has more room than most people's homes, an baroque and ornate moon gate, a fat little Hotai Buddha, a lighthouse weathervane or a cool but totally useless and frivolous little bridge, this is the place.

We had noted that the rug had a tear in the weaving on one end but the store/ Mckays said they would fix it before delivery (it was marked down because of it also). She was incredibly helpful, and we ended up being lucky to choose an in stock table and chairs to start out with. Gina helped in the selection of umbrella and with the ordering of matching chair cushions which were custom made. We then ordered a matching counter height table with four chairs and cushions that had the same fabric as the umbrella. The wait was long due to supply chain issues, but Gina kept us updated regularly. When summer of 2022 came, and we still did not have our 2nd table, she cancelled our original order and expedited the same product with another manufacturer. We were able to have the full complement of furniture we wanted on our deck for the celebration of our son's marriage in August. Thanks to Gina!

There was no one at the register, and after walking through the entire store, I still couldn't find a single employee to help. While waiting, I used the restroom, and there was literal feces on the floor. It was absolutely disgusting. What made it even worse was that the store had only been open for about 30 minutes, so it's concerning that the restroom was already in that condition. I understand accidents happen, but there should have been staff available, and the restroom should have been checked and cleaned promptly. Definitely not the experience I expected just trying to pick up an online order.

My husband and I really liked them so I needed to go back to buy 3 more. When I went the first time, they were going through inventory and the curtains were not out on the floor. I asked an employee if there were any in the back. He said "Yeah but because of inventory we can't get them. I can't go in the back cause it'll be in a box somewhere. Come back next week." I was a bit perplexed - so you refuse to sell me curtains because of inventory? I've done inventory with stores before and I've never heard of this. Such a wasted trip. So I call the store a week and a half later to ask - the employee goes to the curtain dept to look for them. I try to give her the UPC# but she doesn't want it, she's looking via the description. She says "They're probably in the back and I'm not going back there. It's in a box somewhere. They're unloading a truck now so it'll be out soon." I ask why it says there are 5 in stock online? She says "Well it's probably 5 cause there's 5 in the truck coming to the store right now." Even though it has said there's 5 in stock for the past 2 weeks. So my question would be - how unorganized is it in the backroom that no employee wants to go back there to check merchandise?? Is it just me or is that crazy?
