She said send me that video and asked for a couple more photos and said she would contact the manufacturer first thing Monday morning. Later Monday Darla emailed me back that the manufacturer would be sending a new back. Today (Friday Todd delivered and installed the new back, in less then a week of notifying them of the issue.) After a week I called to check the status and was told it was on the way; I was also told at that time that I'd have to pay $20 for shipping. That was never mentioned previously. I was not happy to hear about this extra cost, but I knew the water meter box was heavy (about 90 lbs) and agreed. When it arrived I went to pick it up. As the salesman went to retrieve the parts I looked at the receipt and was shocked to see a total of $180! There was an added cost of $80 for shipping. When I told the salesman there was a mistake, that shipping was supposed to be $20 (and explaining that they never told me I'd have to pay shipping in the first place) he went to talk to the manager. Salesman came back, said $40 shipping was the best they could do. I told him, no, not charging me for shipping in the first place was the best they could do, but I'd still take it for $20. He went to talk to the manager again and I asked if the manager would come talk to me. Salesman came out again, said $40 was the best they could do. Again, I asked for the manager, but he was "busy" (I could see him in the office, talking to another employee). Salesman told me they had to order a minimum of 4 units and the shipping was $80 - so they wanted to stick ME with the entire cost of shipping for all of their order! I again said I'd pay for $20 shipping (or 1/4 of the shipment) and asked for the manager but was again told $40 was the best they could do, and that the manager was still busy. I told the salesman it was wrong to try to rip off the customer by not telling them there was an additional shipping fee after the fact, then not honoring that fee, and then trying to charge an outrageous amount. I was told, "That's the cost of doing business" - Well, not with me. Update: I was contacted by a manger from Houston who gave me the opportunity to tell my side of the story. He contacted the College Station location and I was able to purchase the meter box & lid for the original price, plus $20 shipping. I appreciate being contacted by that manager, and have raised my rating from 1 star to three stars. The local Ewing location still has the best price & availability for the concrete meter box, I just wish I hadn't been jerked around on the shipping.

Even their regular prices are not bad at all. I stopped in to this location for the first time and it did not disappoint! They had art work 50%, great Easter decorations and great garden stuff. Also, 70% off selection shampoo, conditioner and other beauty products. Some were $1.50, $1.20 and one was .45!!! My daughter had me buy some for her. You cannot pass up a deal like that. The staff here were super friendly. The manager was so kind and polite. I bought 2 great planters for my front porch. I will share the photo after I plant flowers in them. This location is one of my favorites now. Of course I will return here!!!

She showed me some hidden gems including blank stationary as well as physical cards aside from the "Thank You" note section. When I say she helped me, she was insanely thorough. I expected to walk in and out but I discovered some gold with a 15 minute stay. Also, I had previously complained about an employee at this store and the corporate owner reached out to me via email and we had a great back and forth. I suggested she add certain thank you notes that are embossed and available on the website -- she agreed. Finally, I can't recommend becoming a rewards member ON THE WEBSITE. When I gave the cashier my number, she only had a $2 off. On my phone I showed her that I actually had 3 coupons ($4 x 2 and $2 off). I walked out with a nice card for my boss and a pack of thank you cards for under $5! Don't think this store is impossible despite the ridiculous market pricing. Give them a shot!
