I stupidly had ordered a Verizon phone (I have Sprint), so that part is my fault. However, the rudeness was so unnecessary and abrupt. Even upon entering the store, they didn't say hello, didn't ask us if we need help, nothing. It was not only uncomfortable, but very uninviting. You could tell they just didn't want any customers and they didn't want to be there. Also, typically a good/professional customer service employee asks you what else they can help you with and they at least try to help you find a new phone in their store. The employee told us that the only promotion we have available was to pay for device protection that was going to be about $40/month for 2 phones at least 6 months otherwise we cannot get the upgrade promotion. While I thought it was weird for them to push insurance on customers, I stated that we would think about it and come back. Luckily, I got home and called Verizon wireless customer service and was told that I get the same promotion without having to purchase insurance at least that was what was showing on my account. So, they tried to sell me something to get commission on yet telling me it was a stipulation in order for me to get that promotion. We have a Best Buy Geek Squad service and after diagnostic work, we were told that a $450-500 repair was needed. This business offered the same repair for $150. They stated they would test the part before installing and if it did not do the trick, their labor would be $75. They also recommended a battery replacement, while the work was being completed, as mine was borderline after 3-years use. The cost of the battery would have been $75. We had checked with a non-certified Apple T-mobile store who offered us $200 on a replacement phone. Had that been our best option, I would have paid the $225 to fix my current phone (which worked well other than the charging port issue). The Pod Drop also recommended we check with a T-mobile certified Apple Store to see if there was a better deal on a new phone. We did just that and chose to turn in the phone and receive a new phone at no cost, with some tweaks to our plan that did not change the monthly payment. Returned to The Pod Drop to pick up the phone and turn it in to T-mobile. The staff were honest, informative and professional. For this interaction, they did not make a cent, yet they earned a loyal family-customers. We will return to them for all-things cellular. Noticed some good pricing on phone cases and other accessories too. I will be calling their store to check on stock and prices before ordering from Amazon or another big box store. My appointment was set for the day they moved their store to the local Meijer. I showed up and the only tech there took care of me (I had called earlier also) and took care of me as he should of. Found out my only issue was the electrical outlet I was using for my charger. Not my phone, my new charger or lightning cable. Nothing of mine. Took care of me as quickly as it was to observe, took care of me as a regular client and charged me appropriately. Will for sure go back after my experience with the tech and manager.
