This isn't a Verizon store. Forget the huge sign out front that says Verizon. It's not a Verizon…read morestore. Forget the giant sign over the cash registers that says Verizon. It's not a Verizon store. How is this important? They lack access to the wider network of Verizon guarantees and products. And that's a problem that forced me to twice make two trips for the same item. That's four trips instead of two. Thinking I was dealing directly with Verizon, I purchased an insurance policy for my phone. The first time I tried to use it, they didn't have the part -- a screen cover for my new phone -- in stock and said the only other store they could call upon was in Marshfield, a very long way away in the suburban direction. They told me to come back in a few days. Huh? Thinking this was a fluke, I returned days later and got the new cover. And was happy with it.... BUT, the guarantee designed to make my life easier had already complicated it. A year later, I needed a new cover again. When they said they didn't have the part and that I'd have to come back in a few days, it was like entering a time warp. Twilight zone meets deja vu. Huh? Wut? The first time is an aberration, the second is business model. My phone isn't that old. The first time, in fact, my phone was only months old. The second time, just over a year old. It's BS to say (as they did) that they didn't have the parts because my phone is an "older" model. It's clear that they just don't have inventory. And because they're not part of the larger Verizon network, they can't send me to or draw from a store in Boston, which would have been much more convenient for me. Buyer beware. Don't shop here unless you don't need service. Make sure you're not in a hurry, either. The employees are exceedingly slow. There always seems to be a line, which is probably because 1) (some of them) don't know what they're doing; and 2) the store doesn't have basic inventory; and 3) they are exceedingly slow. Did I say slow? Last visit, I got the new kid. He stood at his monitor clicking and sighing and muttering all the while avoiding eye-contact with me. I was patient -- I figure it's his first ever job -- but after an exceedingly long time, a very long time, I finally asked if there was someone else who could help me. You know that expression "Three's the charm"? The first two guys had no clue. Third guy was the only guy who knew anything. So a lot of employees but not a lot of help. It probably explains the line. On the pro side, the third guy DOES know what he's doing. If you get him, you'll be fine -- except for the lack of inventory and the fact that even he said I'd have to come back another time to get a screen cover, just like the last time. Also on the pro side, the shop is clean and conveniently located (not too far off the highway) and has parking out front. Oh, and pet-friendly. See the dog in the pic!

After unsuccessfully going through several YouTube clips to try to solve the problem, I went back to "Russell Cellular" (deceptively says "Verizon" on the bldg) where I bought the internet/phone package. They told me to delete and reinstall all the apps and if that didn't work they would replace the router. So I reinstalled everything - no go. Went back to Russell Cellular and a new person told me that I was SOL - nothing they could do to help and I would need to go to the "FIOS" store in Waltham. Frustrated but determined, I went to that store (which turned out to be just another retail outlet called "R Wireless", also with just "Verizon" on the sign). They told me that "there is no such thing as a FIOS store" and that they couldn't help me either. They gave me an 800# to call. When I called the 800# (offshore somewhere) the guy solved the problem in about a half hour through a video session. The Smart TV had to be hard set to 5GHz to prevent downshifting to 2.4GHz which caused all the problems. Why does it have to be so painful to get simple answers at Verizon "affiliate" stores. Can't you just train them with the basics of good customer service instead of "oh no we can't help fix your problem, we only sell stuff". I hated xFinity's greed and arrogance with billing tactics, but at least you can walk into a store and get answers.

So I did all that and they said you can pick it up at this location and leave my phone to be returned for credit! After it was all done over the phone she said I can pick up my new phone here! I quickly left and when to this location to find out that this store has not received confirmation of my order so we waited and waited and waited then I call Verizon and they went to work to get my order to them asap which they did! So happy the make clerk handed me my phone.... With a confused look I said aren't you going to transfer my old phone to the new one? His response said yes for a fee! if you purchased it on line we just give you your phone and with instructions in the box you can do it yourself and you have to send back your old phone to Verizon at your expense! I told him it was a phone call not on line but still no! So I left! Let me preface this with THERE WERE NO CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE FOR WHILE.... With that said as a valued customer for almost 28 years and the two employees were not doing anything at all while I sat there, he could have been a better customer service agent for representing VERIZON BY ASSISTING ME! But. I guess good customer service wasn't here! I quickly called VERIZON AND WAS MORTIFIED at home and so they will send me a box and label to return my phone and said if I have an issue to get on the new phone they were available to assist! Now my question is if there were no customers in the store and they were chatting about overtime and incidentals and nothing about the store itself, it would have been great customer service to say I can help you with that while no one was there! I liked this store before but I guess employee turnover is fast and furious! Once there was a real true employee who gave us all great service and his name was ZEEK! Oh well tomorrow I will try to connect my new phone and thank the person I called again if possible! Then I will wait for my box from VERIZON TO RETURN MY PHONE FOR CREDIT VERIZON SHOULD CONSIDER A TRAINING SESSION ON NEW HIRES IN GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS! NEVER more so than yesterday when I brought in my wife's phone which has had a long standing issue (5 years-ish) - something 2 previous visits to other stores didn't resolve . A tech named Connor at this Cobb Corner store took it as a personal challenge to find the solution. After 15-20 minutes and multiple attempts, we were about to give up and he said "let me try one more thing"and Shazam and it finally works the way it suppose to!!! Fixed phone = happy wife = happy me Thank you Connor!

I never write reviews, but I have never had such a frustrating retail experience in my entire life…read more My family and I spent over 24 hours trying to get 4 upgrades during which 3 of the 4 phones were disconnected at the wrong times and it took over 3 hours each to get them reconnected with online support. Each trip to the store was at least 1.5 hours and ended with "our system went down", "I don't have the code for that", the "manager is out of town", "30 days were up on the 29th day", etc. There were always multiple customers in the store frustrated and waiting for their supposed appointment time or told to come and no appointment was needed and then just had to wait. I had no idea that this Verizon was not "corporate" and therefore had limited abilities and we could not go to other stores for help when things were not working out, the only option was online/phone support. I suggest you avoid this location unless you have many hours to spare and are a master of patience.
