I need to warn people about how an 80+ year old friend of mine was treated at the AT&T Store -…read moreAlabaster Promenade. She received one of those bogus pop-up messages claiming her phone had a virus -- the kind every scammer uses. Unsure what to do, she did the reasonable thing and took her phone to the store for help. She was told: * the "virus" could not be removed * she had to buy a new phone * moving her to the same (less expensive) model "didn't work" * instead, she needed a more expensive phone on a "no-cost" payment plan * and she was charged $60 on the spot She was also sent home with: * a new phone number * an additional line charge * and her supposedly "infected" old phone That night? Neither phone worked. Both showed "No Network." When she returned to the store the next day, she was told she could return the phone -- for a $55 restocking fee. Only after calling 611 and spending over an hour on hold, corporate immediately: * reversed the $60 charge * waived the restocking fee * arranged a free UPS return So let's be clear: AT&T corporate fixed this instantly. The problem was the store. To the manager of the Alabaster Promenade AT&T store: If your staff is trained to scare elderly customers into unnecessary upgrades, extra lines, and fees just to hit a quota, that's not sales -- it's exploitation. People deserve to know. Especially seniors and their families. Check on your parents. Check their bills. And think twice before trusting this location.

The folks at this ATT store were the best! Associate John Holmes worked with me on purchasing a new…read morephone and had to unexpectedly resolve an issue with the app for my insulin pump not being compatible with my new phone. He took the time necessary to help me with patience, kindness, and humor. An "irate" customer came in while I was there also and the staff and managers handled the situation with professionalism and class.

I was having…read moredifficulty unlocking an account they wanted to access so the rep stepped away to assist a non-English speaking customer saying it was a 'simple upgrade and she'd be quick'. At which point my account unlocked, I waited 20 minutes to give her time to finish up but told her my account had been accessible for the past 20 minutes. With no followup, 10 minutes later I started gathering my things to leave. The rep walked over to the manager and said something who shouted across the room at me that my account was inaccessible, I told her it had been accessible for the last 30 minutes. She got ugly, sneered at me and shouted 'I don't think we'll help you today'. I walked over to her and said how about an apology for letting me sit there without checking on me or sending someone else over to assist me. She got nasty and repeated 'I don't think we'll help you today.' AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE. It may be a corporate store, but corporate has more problems with the management and employees at this store than they can even begin to contemplate.

If I could give them negative stars I would. My husband and I went to purchase two iphones told the…read moreperson we had to get new phones and she just had an attitude. My husband went to pick up a phone and an alarm went off, not knowing it would do that. He apologized made a joke and she just kept a scowl look on her face like it was a pain to turn the alarm off. We told her we have been unhappy with our at and t service and she said in a flat uncaring voice, "that sucks" then crickets. We left and immediately drove 20 minutes further to t-mobile and had night and day service. Now they were helpful! On the next day I was talking to a co worker who said,"at and t has an awesome deal on I phones right now on I phone 8". That really made me angry because our uncaring sales person NEVER mentioned ANY deals to us,not once. We might would have stayed with at and t because we were reluctant to let go of years of mediocre at best service. But I am glad we left AND changed cell service it is better service all the way around

I installed it, and the phone still didn't work. I called them back. They said the new SIM didn't activate, didn't know why, and said I had to take it to an AT&T store. Did I mention this was the last Saturday before Christmas? I got in the car and drove to the closest store to my home, this location in Bessemer/McCalla, AL, 24 miles away. When I got there, the store was packed with customers. Well, they put my name on the list, and I waited as my name crawled to the top. At least they had Die Hard playing on one of the larger tablets. It took them an hour and a half to get to me. Considering the day, that wasn't as long as I had expected. It took Daniel all of three minutes to figure out what the problem was and another five to fix it. Then, as I was getting in my car, another person flew into the parking spot next to me. I was able to jump in my car and close the door before he took my door off. In the process, I got my knee slammed between the door and the molded dash. Daniel saw what happened. He barred the driver from entering the store until he apologized to me and checked to make sure I was alright. It's nice to know there are still gentlemen in the world.
