AT&T billing department is completely ignorant and rude to their customers. They are not able to explain to me how they pro-rate their bill (obviously they over charged me) and refused to explain and provide credit. I called three times, being routed to different departments, the rep was extremely rude and said "no body can help you - this is the final bill - i.e., " you get what you get, and you don't complain"'. This is the worse service I've ever got. I will STRONGLY ADVISE DO NOT USE AT&T. If I can give them zero star I would!!! read more

I switched from U-Verse to another provider on July 3rd. My phone was cancelled accurately but U-Verse and internet continued to be billed for two more months. I have called each month after receiving an incorrect bill and was told each time that it would be taken care of on the next bill. I received a letter yesterday saying that they were going to send me to collections. Now when I call they tell me there is nothing I can do. I asked for an address so I could send a certified letter. I was told that I would have to write to the corporate office but that he could not give me that address. I went online to do a live chat hoping I could get an address and he could only give me the address of the local store. I have also had AT&T cell phone service for over 10 years, but since I can't trust them to be ethical I will be switching that as well. read more

I cancelled my cell phone on 10/12/17 as the price was too high and the service not that great, as there are no AT&T cell phone towers near my home and calls were dropped a lot. I was waiting for my final bill and the agent told me it would be $81.14. Well, imagine my surprise when my final bill was $152.14! I found out AT&T has a cancellation charge of $66.00 when you cancel their "services." I went online and spoke with an agent that said he would deduct it from my final bill. That never happened. I called several times and tonight I was shuffled from several different agents and was told I would not be receiving my cancellation charge credit. The last one made an absolute fool out of himself by saying the agent didn't tell me I wouldn't be charged for the cancellation charge, and then turned right around and said "The agent was reprimanded for what he told you." No customer service and lies. I had two agents that told me my final bill would be $81.14 and the cancellation charge of $66.00 would be taken off my final bill. They didn't even honor their employees word!! I will never deal with them again. They won't put up enough cell phone towers to make their wireless phones work right either, while Verizon has cell phone towers all over the landscape where I live. read more

AT&T has the WORST customer service I have experienced in my life. (Internet) They are unable to look at things from the customers point of view. They act like they are going to try to help you and then say there's nothing they can do. My most recent example is being sent a paperless bill when I never requested it. I never saw it and it got paid late. They charged me a restore fee of $50. Mind you, I always pay my bills on time and this was an oversight on their part not sending me a paper statement. I don't think they care about having good customer service, because otherwise their reps would be trained that way. I'm going to tell everyone I know about my experience and I can't wait for my year to be up. Seriously, worst ever. I was with Comcast for 20 years.... I'm loyal if you treat me right. read more

Att is definentely the WORST company on the planet. If you can get internet service from ANYONE else do it! They sent me 3 different bills within a couple of days of each other. After waiting on hold for 40 min I finally talked to a human being. I politely expained that maybe they should hire more human beings to do billing. He told me this was impractical. Two minutes later he explained to me that paper bills are all computer generated and mean nothing and dropped my bill in half with no real explanation except that it is best to call in to find your real bill amount. Wait but didn't he just tell me it was more practical to have the computer do it? Its more practical because ATT can charge customers fees and the average person doesn't have time to call and argue so they make more money. Thats what they are counting on. Too big to fail I guess, well they are failing at customer service! read more

Well....let's see - have had AT&T for many years now - Internet and regular phones (land line and 2 cells) - no major problems until a couple of months ago. Got this super-duper offer in the mail about upgrading phones - sadly we tried it and only positive of that "adventure" was that my husband got a new phone (flip phone) which he likes. I took advantage of the offer and got an i-phone which I ended up ABSOLUTELY HATING!!! Way too much (bleep) on that that I do NOT use, have to charge every night and God forbid you're out/about during the day and battery goes low (b/c of all the unwanted bleep on there). Finally thought I had it all solved - they took back i-phone (not happily) and replaced with a basic flip phone. But low and behold then we started the billing circus! Our bill normally averaged around 130 and we were perfectly happy with that. Then with this "super-duper" offer it all went to hell and back. Took many hours on the phone to get the appropriate credits and thought we were safe - NOT. Next bill was even more of a joke because they were continuing to charge for things they should not have and again, many hours of emails and phone calls and it appeared to finally be resolved....silly me! During one conversation the idea of switching to U-Verse came up - initially I opted not to go there but after looking at their on-line site and talking to someone we took the bait and signed up for it. The ad says "U-Verse, Internet, Phones" - what part of that did we not fully understand or the AT&T sales person didn't feel the need to tell us? "Phones" in AT&T speak does NOT include cell phones which are billed separately. I was on the phone the other day for well over an hour talking with one of the folks there (VERY NICE!) but she told us that AT&T had discontinued some of the billing methods because it created "scheduling problems" as far as billing goes...." and that's my problem because why?????? As it stands right now we'll be getting 2 bills - one for U-Verse, Internet and Phone (screw the 's' they sometimes put on there) and a second one for the cell phones. Again, when I ready "phones" I visual all phones that are part of your plan and don't get this separate billing b*@#t - if AT&T can't get their system fixed to handle that then the powers that be ought to be kicked under the bus and bring in folks who can do it. For the short time here we'll be locked in to this bundle thing but trust me, the minute we can escape (and us too on paying any additional fees - NOT happening!) - there are way too many other reputable companies out there and the found fathers of AT&T (Bell) are turning in their graves! read more

My review pertains to my business account in Ohio, but this is the PO Box. Several months ago my rate doubled. I was told my contract ended and this would be the new rate. After telling ATT I was switching to cable phone service for less than half the price, they agreed to lower the rate through their Retention Department. Everything sounded great until the next month when I got an even higher rate. ATT stated the new rate would not take effect for 2-3 months, and I would be charged the full, undiscounted price until it takes effect. I asked to speak to a Supervisor in the Retention Department but he was apparently too busy, and must still be busy since I never got a call back. On my last call, the rep promised to give me the agreed upon rate which will take effect next month, but I am not holding my breath! Oh yeah, every time I called to complain I always got asked if I wanted to add cell phone service (NO THANKS). read more

When our mother had to move into a senior living community we hoped that she would be able to remain independent. Unfortunately, it soon became clear that she needed more care, so she was moved into the memory care wing (dementia, Alzheimer's, etc.). The pain of that move will never leave me. Still, we hoped we would be able to stay in contact with her by getting an AT&T wireless home phone for her new room. Simply put, the phone never worked. I spent long hours in her room on the line with AT&T, but the best we could get the phone to do was to make calls, not receive them. First, there was the difficulty of getting Comcast to allow her long-time home number to be ported over to AT&T, which AT&T claims happened, although I never was able to call that number. AT&T claims to have continued to send bills to the senior living center (ATRIA), but Atria returned the bills as if our mother had moved out! All she had done was move fifty yards, from one side of the facility to the other. So we never saw any bills. AT&T had an e-mail address on file, but the person on the other end of the line misspelled the e-mail address by one letter, so we were never communicated with via e-mail either. And since we were setting up our mother's account separately from our own long-time AT&T accounts, we were not contacted via our own phones either. In the end we had a useless device and an account balance owed of $261, all due to human error, none of it ours. But AT&T wants their money, and despite the HOURS spent explaining this unfortunate situation to a number of managers, the only way our mother was going to hear her children's voices was for the bill to be paid. She can't remember numbers any more, so even a phone that can only make calls is of no use to her. Bottom line? The people at AT&T to whom you complain are being paid to listen to you rant. In the meanwhile, you ARE NOT being paid while you spend hours on the phone with them. It's a game of attrition, and the all the odds are in their favor. Have a parent with Alzheimer's? They won't care. But you do, so you'll pay. Just like we did. read more

Worst customer service ever. I called them on 3 separate occasions to discuss my bill. Told three different stories and told 3 times that a "supervisor" would call me back. Never happened of course. 4th time was a charm...not so! The person I spoke with started yelling, telling me I had to bundle my services or pay more money per month. He then hung up.Lo & behold my bill went up. I called again yesterday and after explaining that I can't get service to the area I live in, so therefore can't bundle my services I was told that my bill went up because I was receiving a promo rate! Then, I was placed on eternal hold. Literally, I was working on my property with the phone on speaker and it stayed that way for 2hours! heh heh heh Really not funny but one needs not wonder why they stopped saying, "how can I provide you with excellent service?" Been with AT&T for a long time, but I am done. As soon as I can I am changing providers. read more

I am a bookkeeper that has multiple clients that do not have any choice but to use AT & T, including me personally. At first , their customer service was good, until about 4-5 years ago,when it has just become appalling. This company charges people unnecessarily for turning service back on and when you speak to a representative, they will take hours to get your problem resolved and if they say you won't be charged for something, then you better look at your bill, because they will charge you regardless of what they say at your site. I have had this occur with 4 different businesses that I have done books for and their personnel knowledge is horrible. I believe that A T & T is gauging their clients and they are dishonest about your monthly charges when you start up with them. Often, the customer does not have a choice for internet providers on a dsl scale. Something needs to be done about their business practices, now. read more

Called today to get help on rewards gift cards I should have gotten for switching to ATT when I moved. Supposedly letters were sent to me that I never received. I kept getting told nothing can be done after 25 days. Obviously something can be done to get the rewards I am entitled to. The first girl I spoke to told me twice no supervisor was available. Then a RUDE SNOTTY guy by the name of Tyler came on the phone at the rewards area. Did nothing but read the policy which I knew. He told me to call customer relations. Called customer relations..got Kimberly I think in Oklahoma City. Again, I got a lesson on what the policy was. She did offer to give me a $100 credit on my account..not even close to half the rewards I should have gotten. Didn't want to listen. Just got the policy again, confirmed my address and said those are where they were sent. When I said I didnt get them. I was told..yea, they are often mistaken for junk..really? Change how they are sent. She then tried to actually up sale me. And then why asked if she had solved all my issues. I said obviously not and she got snotty again and said she didn't have to give me the $100 credit. What is wrong with picture? Not to mention company. Will be switching as soon as my contract is up. read more
