I had Uverse for about 5 months now.. Can't be any more happier with it than I am now.. Unless it was free. :p I have the U200 package with 12mbps u/3mbps d and it costs me about 106 or so per month. Mind you this is a promotion rate for 2 years both of which it will stay 106 per month. I get about 290 or so channels and pretty clear HD channel content. I do wish they offered a few more channels in HD that Comcast didn't have either but I figure that's more on the channel bosses than the cable companies. Took about 3 hours to set up totally. Have had no problems with it so far. I honestly think that the review above me is paid by Comcast to write such reviews but whatever i guess... I'm pretty happy with what I pay for so no complaints here :) read more

AT&T will never be the Bell South or the South Central Bell before bought by a billion dollar profit company of which Corporate doesn't give one___about its customers proven by the fact that there is NO WAY TO CONTACT ANYONE IN THEIR IVORY BAT MAN STUPID TOWERS! But, today, a Fiber brilliant technician, named Dre, saved this illusive company a 5 decade customer! Not his bosses , cause I never received the 1 phone call I urged Dre, to ask for in a text to him or her or them. Now, let me interject that my experience is NOTHING as my home didn't burn to the ground in a fire, or flood, or obliterated by heavy rain and wind. So being upset over ATT IS nothing. However, four the last 4yrs, I have been harassed with threats of suspension and actually suspending me with no warning because I didn't want to change to fiber. A 50+yr customer, and the last actual suspension was eve of our big snowstorm, no warning, leaving me with no internet or landline. Thank God I have never let them upsell me for TV and cell; otherwise, I'd be out bigger time. So Jan 9. I made an appointment, dreading it cause firstly most reviews are about techs NOT SHOWING UP with NO CALL FROM ATT TO let those poor people know. Also worried about possibly having to dig to bury cables and install junction boxes etc. And though the agents via phone or chat are extraordinary as they are sweet, pleasant,& sympathetic, they have been either misinformed or given disinformation cause no 2 ever give same answer. And we have enough of that from our new administration FGS! So, there was no way TO KNOW if need trenches or what. When Dre arrived, from moment stepped out of truck, my stomach began to settle. And he instantly could see no digging needed as there was already a thingy on one of our utility poles and he could give me a line to my house. Not the "Air" method, but i think "Aerial."Whew! Then he began the install, a little drilling, a little line threading, hole right next to where my copper was in kitchen, perfect. And about 3hrs later he goes to make the connection with the alleged terminal on my street, (but to make another 3 or 4 hrs later shorter storywise) and couldn't and went to another not far from my street, and then another, come to discover THERE IS NO FIBER AVAILABILITY IN MY AREA! ALL THIS TIME OF ATT TARGETING ME, AS THEIR GUINEA PIG "INVOLUNTARY CUSTOMER " (REAL THING) NO FIBER! But DRE was not going to leave me high and dry, with no internet or landlines and he went through their tedious process of trying to get answers so he could PUT BACK MY COPPER INSTALL. THANK GOD , DRE decided against cutting down copper outside wire before install. Then he was told to tell me that I had to call sales, CALL, and tell them to revert me back to copper. Swear, y'all know how it is. 25 minutes till got agent and SHE, EMMA, IS SECOND REASON I DIDN'T QUIT ATT. I was so angry, and she was so perfect, sweet, sympathetic, fast, and Dre was still working and the 3 of us were actually laughing. Emma and Dre are angels! Almost 8hrs Dre with me, AND NOT 1 SECOND OF IMPATIENCE, HUFFYNESS, NASTINESS to me or toward ATT as they let us both down. HE was even keeled, calm, comforting, pragmatic, resolute! I love him! So, ATT, IF y'all aren't too busy getting rid of your DEI programs as commanded by FELON 47, ACTUALLY, in person, call Dre and Emma and tell them. "THANK YOU and that you appreciate them." Tried to get my elderly fathers account number so I can mail back the lousy router they left us with. I had my dad cancel the service a week ago but he is in his late 80's and does not remember his 4 digit passcode. I can't return the box without the account number and the phone customer service refused to help me. I have spent over 14 hours on the phone with AT&T customer service. The first time was regarding an erroneous 200$ charge for a "missing router" which I gave to their technician as instructed. It took months and multiple escalations to managers to get my money back. Most recently, a technician setting up AT&T internet next door disconnected our internet (confirmed on diagnostic testing by calling customer service). He refused to look at our cables, stated "I didn't do nothing, you don't have a ticket number, I have a job to do." This man refuses to speak to us and walked away mid sentence multiple times Customer service was incapable of contacting the technician while he was next to our home. Their solution? Have someone come out to our home in FIVE DAYS for the " soonest available" technician appointment. When I called back and asked to speak with a manager, after an hour on hold, I was told a manager was "busy but would call back in a half hour." When I expressed uncertainty about actually getting a call back (they have rarely called back before), I was told "oh I'll give you the case number, we'll get in trouble if we don't call you back you can report us." No one called me back, of course. If I treated people at my job the way AT&T treats people, I would be fired. DO NOT USE THEIR INTERNET! read more

We waited 5 days for a service call for internet outage. While the tech was here, they sent a salesperson again! I did sales for 17 years and never would I have tried to turn a problem call into a sales/upgrade call. You upgrade happy customers when your service is going well. I cannot believe the nerve of this company. You cannot blindside someone like this. ATT should offer the courtesy of asking, would you like to ask any questions to a product representative during our visit, we'd be happy to send one out. When ATT internet is installed and working, it's fine. But when you need them to do the slightest thing, be prepared for a slow motion train wreck. In trying to upgrade my internet service I've wasted hours to an ineffectual customer service department in the Philippines that is akin to having a staring contest with a blind person. Twice they told me someone would be coming out to the house and no one did, wasting my entire day both times. If I could rate negative stars I would. Five months, five technicians and 15 HOURS LATER I've FINALLY been told Uverse Max is nothing but DSL given my location from the source which I could literally throw a stone and hit. The previous three technicians told me I was WELL within range, the last one said I was outside, after talking to a more senior tech (but the others did that too). They charge you for 18Mbps but it doesn't matter because it gets capped by the DSL bandwidth which drops signal repeatedly and pings you to death which began at 1500 is now somewhat consistently down to 500 (see pic, that's what you're gonna get). If you're trying to stream anything, game, or just keep a valid wifi signal then PLEASE keep looking. Games don't work, streaming either stops or taps Your cell signal (unbeknownst to you as the wifi signal doesn't actually show that it's dropped but it has, so you THINK you're on wifi but your cell bill goes THROUGH THE ROOF! I spent an extra $300 the first months I switched to ShitVerse it was so bad. It was like DSL, only shittier). Now I'm going to get refunded every penny that has been paid. DO NOT TRUST THE AT&T/Uverse TECHS OR "HOME OFFICE" for that matter, for your complaints. They're there to keep you paying, and you will. Good news is Google Fiber was just out taking measurements in bellevue so hopefully soon! I'm going Comcast in the meantime. Never should have switched to Uverse from comcast. Total snow job. Just signed up for COMCAST 45/month for 25Mbps (guaranteed) and all local channels plus HBO. That's less than Im paying for ShitVerse via AT&T, without any TV not to mention HBO. AT & T came into our area and ask is to change from Comcast, They ask what i had . I told them i had the complete package tv, phone internet with the movie package HBO, Cinamax , showtime , Straz. DVR ,HD. I told them i paid apoxx 230 with taxes. they said we have a deal in this area we can save you $100 per month for the same thing for 2 years and i could keep my phone number. STAY AWAY!!!! They came to my house to hook up the internet/TV. They were unable to complete the job and just left. They left wires unfinished in-house and out in the yard. Been two days - no one has followed up. No one at customer service has a clue what is going on. Everyone tells me that my account was canceled by me.?!!? Then had several days without Internet . Did not hear 1 apology or get a message saying what the reoccurring problem is. Also no credit offered for days without service. My Internet speed has just gotten worse over the years. I think all they do is see how they can empty your wallet and not invest in better equipment. For a communication company they don't know much about communicating. You would think they would have a shared notepad about people's accounts.To identify problems that persist. The home of the 33 story AT&T building (Nashville) is incapable of fixing an underground line this weekend, YET had two teams of workers installing NEW cable in my townhouse subdivision. All of my experiences with AT&T U-verse from September 2014 until June 13, 2015 were great. On June 13, my internet went down and I rebooted the modem. I called AT&T's customer service folks (90% of their customer service is offshore) and they told me that they'd been having problems with that modem and that it probably needed to be replaced. Fine. He promised that a tech would be here between 1 and 4 on Sunday the 14th and would call first. No call, no show. On Tuesday, it went down again. Made the service call and was pretty irate. Promised a call the next afternoon. No call, no show. The next 4 times it went down, I used the chat feature and was promised two more service calls. No one called or showed up. Finally, I got a call on the 19th from a guy who remotely reset my modem and assured me that all was fine. It went down again on the 22nd and I rebooted it. Did the chat line and was promised a tech call with profuse apologies. Again--no call, no show. Yesterday I gave the chat a final chance after Internet went down. Got a follow-up call yesterday afternoon from a very apologetic rep, who promised that a tech would call first and show up between 8:30 am and 12:30 am. I also told her that the TV service hasn't been working since the 13th and she promised that she would issue a $50 credit. We'll see. Bottom line--AT&T has outsourced all customer service and no longer sends techs out for home service, despite 6 promises. I know that Comcast is even worse! I'll just put up with this for a few more weeks and then cancel and use my Verizon jet pack and hope that Google Fiber gets to Germantown soon! At this point, it's become a big joke! read more

Door to door salesman came through 12 South in Nashville with promises of new fiber optics and better service than Comcast. Fifty percent of his promises I later found out were inaccurate or not possible at all. It took 5 one-hour plus calls from me and two from my neighbor and a month delay to figure out our billing and install the service! Then 5 more calls to service center to get the HD working, its a week later now and despite me having to be at my house for 10 hours while they worked on it they still don't know why my internet is slower than it should be and the HD channels still don't work (actually all of the channels are out at the moment!) So I guess I'll spend an hour on another tech support call! Wish I had never switched! On a positive note, the employees in Nashville have been great and seem quite feed-up on my behalf with corporate. read more

Salesperson comes to the door. Convinces us to sign up for AT&T fiber internet on the stipulation that the **$99 installation fee is waived.** We are charged the fee and customer service would not refund it. Translation: That is THEFT. This lead to us canceling the service and incurring a $120 early cancelation fee. That is $219. It was completely manipulative. I'm sure this has happened to other people as well, who may not have noticed the addition to their bill (also known as fraud). Customer service did not take this seriously, but I certainly do. (Side note: The service in our location could not stream without glitches and often poor image quality - their service seems to be dependent on where you are located, as some people seem to have very good internet speed) read more

Everything was pretty ok with U-Verse up until January. Then, it all went to hell. Internet was down or inconsistent for three straight weeks, despite having to schedule SEVEN technician visits to come out to try to fix things. They gave me a free month of internet to make up for it, and also said they'd give me a free upgrade to the turbo speed internet for the year as well. Thus began unending billing issues, as they tried to charge me for the speed upgrade, tried to add a new fee for the modem (after they took the one I owned and replaced it with one that is apparently being leased), and hiking my bill month over month. I have another week or so to cancel service without penalty. The only reason I hesitate is I think Comcast is just as awful. Customer service and follow through are subpar. Quality of tv service subpar. My tv has gone out so many times in two weeks of service it is riduculous. I have had 6 tech service calls in 2 weeks. Twice the service was on when the technician left but off hours later in the same day. Customer service has very little reaction to trying to make up for the awful service and extreme inconvenience. Had U-verse TV and Internet installed on 6/7/2016. The next day, TV and internet stopped working. I work from home - so this is an issue. It took about a week for this to be resolved. Turns out the original installation was incorrect. Post "fix", TV was spotty (cut in and out, pixelated, choppy, etc...) on the main (wired) TV. This was exacerbated with any inkling of rain or windy weather. The wireless receivers were spotty all the time, regardless of weather. On top of this, I was overcharged for my bill. I called 3 times to have someone fix it...to no avail. Finally, on 7/6 I called to cancel TV service (I kept internet) and to demand that someone adjust my bill. Had to stay on the phone for an hour to get it done while I was on the phone to ensure that in fact the bill was fixed. Today, 7/8, the internet dropped 4 times within a 3hr period. Again - I work from home. I missed business conferences and emails due to the intermittent service. read more

I recently had a hardship in my home that my wife out 57 years passed away I had two iPhone eights on contract with AT&T I called AT&T to terminate her phone her line that was still on contract and they waived all of the fees due and told me to keep the phone and do what I wanna do with it I was so overwhelmed. The worst service I have ever received. I switched to AT&T fiber, because it was $10 cheaper/month and supposed to be faster. 1) The service hasn't worked form day 1 of being installed. We tried troubleshooting, I spent hours on the phone being transferred from agent to agent, everyone saying the same thing. I was told that there would be a fee to have a technician come to get the internet working, which shouldn't have been the case because it hadn't been working from day one. I finally decide to cancel and am told that there would be a $150 fee to cancel. I have been unemployed for four months and cannot afford to pay this. You would think that this company would have a bit more compassion to those struggling financially during this pandemic. So, I ask about transferring the service. I am told that instead of paying the $50/month I have been paying, it will be $79.99/month, because the $30 off/month I had been getting was a "promotion". Not once did AT&T tell me that was a promotion. It was portrayed as, that's what I would be paying long-term, every month, not just once the "promotion" was up. Do NOT choose this service company. They are manipulative, indirect and NOT up front about a single thing. Absolutely disgusted and will never again use this service. read more

First, I would like to say, it's too bad there isn't a "0" for the review score. Every time we called to ask for help the first thing said is there will be a $50 service fee, even when they first installed their equipment and our internet and TV didn't even work! And then, when we had our fill of their very poor service, we canceled their service. We thought the nightmare was over but, no luck. One piece of equipment was not turned in because my mother, who has Alzheimer, accidentally lost one of the cable boxes (it was later found under some clothes) and they threatened to turn her account over to a collection department. I contacted them to request shipping information to return their equipment and they said DO NOT return it, it would not be accepted. Then, someone called and said the $165 fee was NOT for the equipment...it was for service that had not been paid for. BIG lie, but I am not surprised. So, we paid the fee today for equipment that is useless. Take my advice, DO NOT do business with this company. They have the worst service I have ever experienced. Their installation contractors don't test their equipment to see if it works properly and their customer service people are NOT there to help the customers that pay their wages. I would NOT use AT&T U-verse if they offered FREE service to my entire family for the rest of our lives! In fact, I have AT&T cell phone service, which I've had for nearly a decade now, but tomorrow I plan on driving to the nearest store to cancel my entire families service regardless of any fees required to close our account. I will NEVER use any AT&T service again. Or, any other company that AT&T is affiliated with, such as Direct TV. Future customers beware!!!
