The Brentwood office is a small branch of the larger lensrentals.com business that receives equipment from the main office and is a spectacular pick up location to save you shipping and handling on your lens. They have a pretty excellent (from what I can tell) selection of both name brand and value lenses with solid customer support to help you pick.
My go-to spot for renting a camera lens for any trip I might take that makes me think beyond my basic 2 lenses. These guys are basically my heroes.
Not only do the lensrentals folks consistently far-and-beyond have the best prices I can find on renting a camera lens, they're incredibly, super helpful and genuinely good people. I'll admit I'm not great with my camera. My basic theory is "Get a good DSLR, get a good lens = very decent photos," but the internet can make taking event "decent" photos kind of intimidating and committing to buying a new lens is a pretty sizable investment.
I've called them the week before a trip to talk over lenses that might fit my camera, fit my purposes. I don't have the lingo down in any way but they know their business so well they can give me 5 or 6 options easily to meet my desires "I have a D3100 I need to autofocus, I want to take pictures of big mountains."
I've called them the DAY BEFORE a trip - deeply apologetic - and while the Brentwood location is only a branch that needs to receive all rental equipment from a main location, they managed to get the order in, call me to double check my crazed timeline, and have the lens I needed on shelf in Brentwood by 10AM the next morning in enough time to make my flight, less than 20 hours later. I forgot my camera hood in a rental car once and they called me and let me take my time seeing if I could get the rental company to return the lens. While it ended up being a no-go and I did pay for the missing lens hood, the rental still cost me less than any competitor I could find online.
Really great company from the perspectives of price, selection and customer service - I feel pretty lucky to have these guys on call when I'm off to adventure. read more
