I have been an AT&T customer for many years but this year the customer service has declined. In February I decided to switch to the senior citizen discount for one wireless line and a fiber internet connection. I switched in February and was told it would take a month or so switch the billing. The next month my bill was overcharged so I waited a month. In April it was still overcharged so I called customer service and after waiting a long time I was told it would be corrected in May. In May it was not corrected and I called again and spoke to a supervisor and was told the same thing. I spoke to many people at customer service and no one could resolve the problem. In June it was not corrected so I filed a compalnt with the FCC. I did recieve a call from the AT&T Office of the President. A clerk told me I would be refunded the money that I was over charged. She credited my bill but it took until the September billl to completly refund my money. The customer service was poor and the billing statement was confusing. read more

When I moved into my new house in Magnolia in 2022, we got AT&T Fiber. I worked from home, and when I tell you the service was amazing, it was amazing! Never loss connection, super fast, and for 1Gig for $95, was a LOT cheaper and better deal that their cable. but that's a different story. Sadly, I lost my job in 2025 and had to end service. Sent the equipment back, but in Oct, got service back and got new equipment. But it was not the same, the connections were constantly droppin! WiFi connections so bad, I had to by extenders and still really did not help!! It is to the point I feel like I have to really moderate my bandwidth and never had this issue before. WTH happened??? The company came out to be my neighbors AT&T fiber optic line in the process they cut my power cable. So I was left without power for a whole day once I got centerpoint out. I was promised that my service will be taken care of in less than a week. It took two months and I have yet to receive my $1100 credit for me getting Centerpoint out and paying out of my pocket for issue that was related to their contracted work. Called several times just to get information regarding if they provide internet service in my area and a quote for high speed internet. They were awful. Hung up on me did not call me back. Asked all kinds of questions not pertaining to what I was calling about. Called back again rude. Call connected and did not answer just left me on hold. Called back finally someone answered and apologized but still questioning things that were not related to my call or the questions I had. They just don't give you a clear answer until they interrogate you and they record your answers I assume to try and up sell you. I'm on the AT&T Internet 500 plan, which should be $75/month--or $50 with bundling--but my latest bill was $89.34. The $15 bundle discount and $5 autopay discount suddenly disappeared, and a so-called $13.50 "discount" actually increased the total. Very dishonest in how it was presented. ATT is currently playing catch up for fiber internet service in my neighborhood. They have hired a 3rd party to do all of their destruction to our lawns and neighborhood. I believe the company is ANSCO. To date they say they are finished, yet our yards look like land minds have gone off every 10 yards due to the inferior tunneling equipment used by the ANSCO contractor. When scheduling a technician to come out to repair the internet, the website clearly says that the technician will inform the customer whether there will be a charge or not PRIOR to doing any work. However, the technician did not do that and I was still charged $100 tech fee. I requested a refund and the service manager, Gokul refused. I have Auto pay with ATT&T they take out money on the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, hard to keep track because I used a particular bank account to pay bills and they end up making me negative as they withdraw on random dates. They tell you to check 21days from your bill and depending on the month of the year this is too much to keep up for a internet bill. I don't understand why they cannot stick to one date. The internet is not good. I mainly use the internet for my cell phone and sometimes it's slow which is werid because their selling point is they "own towards." We have AT&T wireless and have had problems since June. We have spent countless hours on the phone with AT&T. Each time having to repeat the problem with no effort on their part to get to the bottom of the problem. We have replaced the modem, sim card, even our laptop hoping to fix the problem. The absolute worst, I don't know what the heck I was thinking. The highest speed was 18mbps, but they touted the whole "you're the only one on your fiber"spiel (of course the actual terminology is different but I couldn't remember it) and I totally bought it. Then my internet kept cutting off like crazy, so after spending some time with on the phone troubleshooting I had to call in a service guy. The service guy was awesome. Turns out, my apartment is too far from the station? (again probably not the correct terminology) so the 18mbps was too high and was overloading and causing it to cut off, whatever the heck that means.. so the problem was solved when he brought my internet down to 14mbps. But that's REALLY slow internet! I work from home off of a vpn connection, so having good internet is a big deal. I had previously only had the option to use Time Warner/Spectrum, so I was completely naive coming into this, I stupidly thought no one could be worse than Spectrum! Oh they sure can... My experience with AT&T's customer service today has been abysmal. The website (for all my searching) has looping pages bringing you back over and over to articles and sales rather than true troubleshooting solutions, chat bots, or less-than-40-min wait times on the phone is super frustrating. Even the link att.com/feedback appears as "Page not found". It's as if AT&T is begging people to go leave negative feedback in more public venues like Yelp, Google reviews, etc. (like this). Undaunted, I called Each rep I turned to calls (no internet at my home to be able to do otherwise), which led me to be on an active hold or a call back schedule for 3.5 hours today (9:15 am-12:55 pm). While each individual representative poke to was kind, patient, and helpful as a person, unfortunately it did seem like their hands were tied in regard to the horrendous wait times and lack of access to a technician. The final verdict as of today is that I have to wait for tomorrow for a tech to come to my house to even begin to assess the situation. read more

The actual at&t installer did a great job, but the crews that bury the cable after are the worst you can get. They flipped up flat stones and played cable on the ground then put stones back on top of the new fiber cable. I'm constantly resetting my receivers because they go offline, my dvr recordings freeze and I lose part of the show. I have poor WiFi connectivity at certain times of the day. The installation guys were great. No problem there. One time after a thunderstorm the wire got fried or something down the street. I called and got immediate service, BUT the lady on the phone told me that if it happened again I would have pay for it. Now mind you, this problem happened down the street. WTF? Anyway the internet was SLOOOOOOOOOOW. I am not exaggerating when I say I had faster interne in a small beach town in Mexico. This is The Woodlands! Usually around 9-10pm it would just stop. worst company I have ever had to deal with! I moved into my house a year ago. I signed up for AT&T internet because I already had my mobile service with them. They said by having the two I would receive a discount. Never happened, keep reading... They came out to hook up the internet. They just left the cable on top of the ground and said someone would be out tomorrow to bury it. The cable sat on top of the ground for a month. I called and asked why the cable hadn't been buried. I was told they were switching over to 5g and that cable would be overhead. They said someone would contact me for an appointment to install the overhead cable and remove the cable on the ground. another month goes by. I call and ask about scheduling. Learn nothing. Each call to AT&T takes hours. Calls mysteriously get dropped as they transfer you from person to person. So you repeatedly have to call back and start at "0". A few days latter a crew shows up, digs up the yard and buried the cable. They have no knowledge of the overhead 5g. A few days latter the guy shows up for the 5g, takes the old cable out of the house, runs new cable. I'm now months into this and still have received no discount on the bill. At 11 months I went to AT&T trying to avoid the hours of being put on hold. I was told they couldn't help me. So back to the phone. I spent 5 hours on the phone. Getting mysteriously disconnected every time they say "I'm going to put you on hold for a minute". I finally reached someone at 7:30 PM. In about 10 minutes he said, it was done. the two accounts were combined. However, a tech would need to come out to verify. I have no idea to verify what. Two days latter the tech shows up and says I'm here to install the internet. I try to give the short version of the story. He says he has to treat it like it's a new install and run through all the checks and inspect the cables and equipment. Again the parting comment is okay it's done. So, yesterday I get a past due notice for $326.45. I again spend hours on chat because the phone number has a message to call back during business hours. After two hours on chat being passed from one person to another and mysteriously disconnected numerous times, I'm told "you need to call". I signed up for the 1GB fiber optic internet plan. Since signing up my online remote functions still aren't that great due to a bad connection that my Service rep or telephone rep couldn't figure out so we've been able to manage. When I signed up I told the salesperson I needed my due date to be on the 15th of every month and they said ok but have never honored the request so I get a $10 late fee monthly. I don't expect to be a customer much longer and only signed up to get faster internet and HBO Max free for a year. read more
