Incredibly horrible internet performance/reliability but the "customer service" is so awful it's hard to believe it's not an April Fool's joke-truly. I text the frontier number to report "service outage" and all I get over and over is "there are no reported outages in your area" I FINALLY get an agent and she sees my service is out, again, but rather than research the problem she actually tried to upgrade my account for more $$. I told this company that the line was cut in my yard on Monday morning. They sent a work order and then texted me that it had been fixed and canceled my work order. It's funny that you can't fix a broken line from a computer somewhere else in the world. After canceling and rescheduling Several appointments. I have now discontinued service. Wish I was able to give 0 stars. This company is HORRIBLE when it comes to continued service. I've had them for 3 months and my services has had outages 8 different times. One of those times the service was out for 2 whole days. Outside of that the outages last about 12 hours or so. Customer service is a complete waste of time. The company is horrible with keeping clients updated on outage restorations. They give time for restoration and that time passes by for hours and no update. Honestly you might as well try to connect to the Internet through a potato than to use their services. And they keep trying to upsell me on their unbreakable internet package. We are newer frontier customer and the amount of outages we've had is ridiculous. We have gone 2 days now without internet with no explanation. They keep sending us text "updates" stating it will be fixed by 10am, then 2pm, then 6pm. So on and so forth....yeah sure. Keep lying to us. Outage greater than 24 hours and have received four updates with different times for restoration. My entire community is down. It would be very helpful if a broadcast would be sent with specifics of the outage, such as what is the cause and the true expected repair. Also credit should be automatic. A client of theirs for years with auto draft payments from my credit card. Well, we finally got tired of paying double the monthly rate that we had signed up for and went to their competitor. Well, guess what? Miraculously, they offered us a rate even less than the original price we had signed up for and we were totally flabbergasted as we had tried a few times the past couple of years to get our monthly payments lowered and, of course, every customer service representative said there was nothing they could do to assist us with this request. So calling them to cancel our service and then they offer a lower rate and when we declined to accept it, they give us a very difficult time to cancel, to get the return label to send the router equipment back, and will not take "NO" for an answer. After almost 40 minutes of wasted time, the customer service representative tells us he can't help us any further and hangs up on us. Same story, different ex-customer. And, there is still NO return label for us to send the equipment back! And yes, they charge a $160 cancellation fee on top of all of this, when there is still about a week left before the next bill is due. With so many other competitors, there are much better options! read more

I moved into an area that didn't have the same internet provider offering fiber optics as my previous home, So, I went with the only company that did provide fiber. With Frontier, we pay less and get more speed (1Gig)...what's not to love! Then, 10 days in, the internet goes down for a day...then two weeks later again...then about another two weeks down again! Since, July 2024 the internet has been going down roughly every two weeks and this usually lasts a whole day. Working from home is out of the question, forget about streaming...when it works I would rate Frontier a 5 star, but it's mid December and right on schedule the internet is down and I easily rate Frontier a 1 star. read more

I wish I could give this awful company zero stars. We had great service for 4 days after they installed it. However, once they put the cable in the ground our internet immediately stopped working. The techs left without even bothering to test it. We called customer support to ask them to have the tech turn around and come back (it had only been 10min since they left). Instead, they walked us through troubleshooting for over an hour. Again, nothing worked. After that, they told us it was now too late to have the tech come back. And that someone could return on Thursday. (The day this happened was Monday.) My husband and I both work from home and NEED internet. We immediately asked to cancel our service. Which then they informed us we would be getting charged the entire month of November. For 4 days of service. Unacceptable. Unprofessional. read more

I have had Frontier for a year and the rate has increased 4 times. I have xfinity with a locked in rate so I know exactly what I am paying. The increase of the rate is not consistent as they seem to change it to fit their needs. I signed up Sept 23 at $54.99. Feb 24 increased $61.40. July 24 increased $71.40 and Sept 24 increased $81.40. I'm limited in my area but will definitely find a company that cannot just change my fee at their leisure. read more

The worst ISP in the U.S., without doubt. Service goes down at least once a week. I get an email saying it will be down for 4 hours, and a click here link for further info. Clicking on the link is worthless since the internet service is down. It's guaranteed that if they say 4 hours, it will be 6, then up for 30 minutes, then back down for another 4 hours. We often have outages twice a week. And it's slow, not at all what we should expect for fiber optic transmission. No matter what the price you pay, it's too much. Then they'll charge you outrageous fees unless you allow them to, automatically and without notice or detailed statements, reach into your bank account and steal their monthly fees. *Then they start delivering crappy services, and the original phone number you used to sign up no longer works. * When you finally find a number that works, it takes you to a talking machine that gives you 3 options . . .PAY YOUR BILL, REVIEW YOUR ACCOUNT, ot TECH SUPPORT. * Now begins the big 1 hour circle jerk, designed to make you give up and go away and just pay whatever they want to charge you. * If you persevere and are persistent and have unlimited time to waste, you may eventually reach a LIVE person . . . .but, sadly, that LIVE person DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Dallas had a terrible storm a couple of months ago and I had what I thought were power lines in my backyard. I called Oncor they came out and stated it was my internet cable and that I needed to call my internet company. I called Frontier and they said it was not there line and charged me $150 without any notice. They said it was because a technician had to come out and it was not there issue. How was I to know that I should not call them. I was following the instructions of Oncor after a natural disaster had just occurred. I will never recommend them. read more

Works great, when it actually works. Went down for 8 days. Tech came out and "fixed" it. It worked for 5 days and was down again. Called customer service and they couldn't send anyone out for another 5 days. Tech comes out and again says it's fixed but it went down 20 minutes after they left. Called customer service and is told the ticket is closed so they can't send someone out until the next day and that it's under a new ticket. My husband and I both WFH and are using our T-Mobile hotspot data just to function. And no one at Frontier cares. At this point we are looking for a new provider because we feel like Frontier doesn't actually know how to fix it and don't want to tell us. We were long-time customers of Comcast/Xfinity Internet (because it was basically the only viable internet service provider in our neighborhood when a young lady knocked on our door in September 2023, offering a great deal if we switched to Frontier 1-Gig Fiber Optic Cable Internet Service. Among other incentives, she mentioned that Frontier would pay any Early Termination Fee that Xfinity would charge me to switch to Frontier Internet. Although I had read less-than-laudatory reviews of Frontier Internet from both a product and customer service perspective, our experience with Xfinity on both fronts was not the greatest either, so we decided to take a chance on Frontier Internet. As of mid-February 2024, the Frontier Internet product itself is actually working quite well for us compared to our previous Xfinity Internet service. However, the business/customer service aspect is just as bad as, if not worse, than we had read in other reviews. Needless to say, despite my numerous attempts to get the $110 Xfinity charged us as an Early Termination Fee either refunded to us or credited to our Frontier account, Frontier has stymied me in one way or the other on every occasion. To say Frontier is more full of crap than Joe Biden's diaper would be putting it mildly. I can't think of dealing with a more dishonest, low integrity business than Frontier. In summary, from a product standpoint, Frontier 1-Gig Fiber Optic Cable Internet Service is quite good, so far. The question then becomes if you want to deal with a fundamentally dishonest, low integrity business with a very poor customer service operation. For me, Frontier is better on both aspects compared to Xfinity, even after Frontier refusing to reimburse me the $110 Early Termination Fee that Xfinity charged. read more

Currently on day 3 of an outage. When there is an outage it lasts a long , long time. Text updates are non updates. Basically, yeah we know it's out. Don't contact us. There is no reliable customer service number. Just automated to let you know you're not speaking to anyone about the outage. There are no meaningful updates given. This has happened several times. I had been with Frontier internet for 3 yrs. After moving we canceled our service. I returned the equipment within the time line given. They sent me a bill for $158. $50 was for a restalking fee and $108 for equipment that was not returned. I called customer service. The lady was extremely rude. So I asked to speak to someone else. The man I was transferred to said he could see where they received the equipment and took the $108 off of my statement. I paid the restalking fee. Two months later I received something from creditors for $108. This has now gone against my credit. I called frontier they received 5 items from my returned equipment but the representative said there was still an item missing. Why was I not told that the last time I called and took care of this? I paid the $108 because I was exhausted from dealing with this. I feel robbed and taken advantage off. CONSUMER WARNING!!! PLEASE LOOK AT REVIEWS OF FRONTIER INTERNET BEFORE YOU SWITCH. We had our internet switched over on June 30th at that time they said the cable would be buried in two weeks. July 25th I contacted them to find out when it would be buried, it had not even been scheduled. They said it would be scheduled for the following week, no one showed up called again and got the same story. Received another appointment for August 12th it rained so I called Saturday the 13th to find out if it was still on the schedule, they had no record of the Friday appointment. They rescheduled for Saturday 20th, in the mean time the cable that had been exposed since JUNE 30TH was hit by the HOA lawn crews on AUGUST 18th. Contacted Frontier to get the cable replaced they said they'd have someone out that day, if not the next morning 8am-12pm. Wife contacted them at 1130 on Friday the 19th to find out where they were and was told it was over looked, and would not be done, but they would be out on Saturday 20th. Now here we are on the 20th and they are saying now August 22nd. We canceled our service just shy of 2 months on August 20th. Be aware that you may get screwed DO NOT GO WITH FRONTIER...
