I brought it here, and they diagnosed the motherboard issue in minutes using a specialized tester. Not only did they fix the board within a week at a very fair price, but they also discovered that the previous shop had left loose screws, damaged the screen, and internal damage inside my device. They salvaged a "dead" iPad and were transparent throughout the whole process. If you have a complex repair, skip the big chains and come here first!

Two of the five pads were also removed in the process. I reached out to a few businesses on Yelp to see if anyone can solder a new battery connector and the amount of people who tried to highball me was ridiculous. They tried to charge me the cost of a whole new motherboard. Gale, from GB Wireless, responded to me with a decent price so I drove over there the next morning they were open. Since it wasn't just a solder service but also him having to figure out where the ripped pads lead, I had to pay a little more but it was worth it. Gale was very friendly and was great at explaining what he would need to do. He gave me the estimate and said it would be ready the next day. A few hours later, I get a call saying he was able to fix it and my Switch is working perfectly. I appreciate service like this. As the customer, it just feels like they go above and beyond. Now I know where to go the next time I destroy something!

The owner told me to come in the next day when they open at 10am doe my best chance at same day repair. Said that it was likely a need for me to replace the whole frame or whatever the port is connected to. I took it in and he took a quick look and said it was likely it just needed a little cleaning, no need to replace any part and that it could be done in 15 mins. My jaw dropped. I was so glad I didn't go to a mall kiosk because the last time this happened I had to pay nearly $200 to get a whole part replaced. I'm a happy customer and would come back here for any future phone repair needs!

So he put the original back on and fully refunded me even though he spent considerable time trying to fix the phone. 5 stars for doing the right thing and helping me figure out the best course of action for my phone.

I had to prepare for work on Monday and couldn't afford to not have a phone. Luckily I had my laptop, so I clicked an Apple link to troubleshoot my issue and schedule a repair. Surprised to find that I couldn't even get support for my iPhone without logging in to my Apple account. I quickly logged in only to find that they required a text with a code on my phone. No other way to do it, since I don't have any other Apple devices. I went to Yelp! and looked up some repair places. This place like the others were fast to respond. I went with them because they had the best reviews and seemed like they had the most reputable work. Mohamed was easy to work with, prepared, and knowledgeable. He's straightforward on pricing and can explain the different price points. I decided to go for the highest end replacement screen (OEM Apple refurb). They include a screen protector at that price point. Driving there was tough only because street parking was hard to find and this is on a rainy Sunday morning/afternoon. I would recommend taking the Shaw/Howard metro instead. Literally a straight 2 blocks up the road. The repair happened right in front of me and was fast. Clearly Mohamed is experienced. He's also well mannered and treats clients like a human being which is more than what I can say for some other people running a business. Place was clean, put together, and easy to locate. Literally on corner of 7th street NW and Florida Ave NW. The repair cost me ($180) more than what others quoted me, but I chose the highest of 3 options he gave me ($90,$130, and $180). He even checked that everything worked and was not pushy or rude. Time will tell if this repair last but I'm literally typing this review from my phone; so far so good.

I went right back to real mobile repair and got my phone fixed for a quarter of the price.

Update: I was not contacted by the owner, and I have texts from the business refusing to refund the…read moreservice. They originally offered to refund the labor only or replace the part again, but after two failed installs, that wasn't a good resolution plan. I was able to get an approved dispute with my credit card company and was fully refunded. A reply to my review making it look like there was an attempt to refund me isn't transparent. Again, sometimes it's best to measure a business on what happens when something goes wrong, not just when everything goes right. A true measure of a business is how they handle things when things go wrong. I want to start by saying the actual service experience was good. Fast turnaround, friendly staff, and when my first screen replacement had dying pixels, they replaced it under warranty without any pushback. That part of the experience deserves credit. However, the second replacement screen was also defective. Graininess in low light, visible dark spots, and the screen would go completely black during phone calls. At that point I asked for a refund rather than a third installation, since I'd already spent enough time and didn't want to gamble again on the same part. This is where I think the real test of a business happens. Anyone can deliver good service when everything goes smoothly. What matters more is what happens when it doesn't. I had an independent diagnosis from Apple confirming the display issue, and the shop initially agreed to a refund on the condition that I return the old screen. The problem was that Apple, who repaired the phone separately, retains all replaced parts as their own property and doesn't return them to customers, a policy I confirmed directly and documented for the shop. In the end, the shop declined to issue a full refund and only offered a partial refund for labor, even though the part itself was the source of the defect, not the installation. I came into this wanting to be fair, and I gave the business multiple chances to resolve it. I think it's reasonable to expect a full refund when a product fails twice, especially when returning the part wasn't even possible due to circumstances outside my control. I'd recommend this shop for routine repairs based on their speed and friendliness, but be aware of how they handle things if something doesn't go as planned. They would reference that they work with the local Apple Store, but I spoke with the Apple Store and they have several customers come in after poor third party replacements and service.
