Because we live nearly two hours away, my husband stayed by my side the entire time. To avoid driving back and forth every day when he had to go to work, he packed a bag for himself and a couple for me. My husband isn't the most organized person, so after a month of this, the car was cluttered with bags of clothes and daily trash. ​Right after my discharge, I insisted we stop somewhere to vacuum and throw the garbage away. The minute we pulled in, it started raining, so we decided to just quickly toss the trash. The manager walked out and immediately began harassing us about "illegal dumping." When my husband asked for his name, he yelled, "David, and you can tell them I said you had to leave for illegal dumping!" ​David intentionally kept yelling so every other customer could hear, completely belittling us. He called my husband a "bitch" and screamed, "Have fun living in squalor, you homeless fucks." ​I was so embarrassed that I just made my husband drive away. I badly wanted to throw my discharge papers and my large bag of medication in his face to prove who we were. To treat recovering hospital patients with such vulgar cruelty is disgusting. That's how we found ARCO. I couldn't believe the sign that read: "$3.09" I thought that it might be a mistake... But it was not. I gave $30 cash to the clerk inside the convenience store and filled up the rental car. Wow... That's the best price I've seen in a very long time!
