This is a challenging corner. Be very careful driving in and out. I dropped in to get gas late…read morenight. The price is significantly less if you use cash or mildly less if your use your debit card with the pin. I thankfully have a small car. I was trying to get into one of the spaces to fill my tank. The gas pump hoses, FYI, DO NOT STRETCH! I have a tiny car so the hose on pumps that stretch very little are usually zero problem but nope... zero stretch at all. Unfortunately the other cars were firmly staying in their spaces so I had to do the whole drive out, turn around and back in. Parking I had to be super careful of this very large and obnoxiously placed concrete thing. And then it is a bit scary to drive out of there as cars come barreling around the corner onto 39th from Powell. Yikes.... There is an ARCO further down towards Belmont that also has some of the lower prices. It is a bit safer to get in and out of depending on the time of the day.

Because we live nearly two hours away, my husband stayed by my side the entire time. To avoid driving back and forth every day when he had to go to work, he packed a bag for himself and a couple for me. My husband isn't the most organized person, so after a month of this, the car was cluttered with bags of clothes and daily trash. ​Right after my discharge, I insisted we stop somewhere to vacuum and throw the garbage away. The minute we pulled in, it started raining, so we decided to just quickly toss the trash. The manager walked out and immediately began harassing us about "illegal dumping." When my husband asked for his name, he yelled, "David, and you can tell them I said you had to leave for illegal dumping!" ​David intentionally kept yelling so every other customer could hear, completely belittling us. He called my husband a "bitch" and screamed, "Have fun living in squalor, you homeless fucks." ​I was so embarrassed that I just made my husband drive away. I badly wanted to throw my discharge papers and my large bag of medication in his face to prove who we were. To treat recovering hospital patients with such vulgar cruelty is disgusting. I will never return.

After driving the rental car around Seattle, Washington, for a couple of days, we drove to Portland, Oregon and needed to fill up the gas tank. I used my Yelp app and searched for "cheap gas". That's how we found ARCO. I couldn't believe the sign that read: "$3.09" I thought that it might be a mistake... But it was not. I gave $30 cash to the clerk inside the convenience store and filled up the rental car. Wow... That's the best price I've seen in a very long time!

I used mine just fine but still got charged for the credit price yet not because the price listed was lower than the price at the pump. Arco locations just all seem to have their own shady shit that they do. In a pinch though, they are the lower priced option in the area.
