I put gas in my car, started the car and noticed I hadn't gotten any gas at all. Went in and told the man at the counter what happened and something must be wrong with the pump. He was incredibly rude and told me I'm wrong and I did get gas. Went up the street to the 76 and got gas with no issue, so this Shell just scammed me out of money. Don't go here. read more

Rarely buy gas in inner city locations because the prices are so much higher. Even though I live downtown, I buy gas when I'm out of the city running errands. But sometimes i forget to fill up and out of necessity will stop here. It's a large station, right on SE Grand, with wide entry and exit, a rarity fir city gas stations. Attendants are friendly and get the job done. I've never gone into the food mart so can't comment on any experience there. read more

My expectations are relatively low for any gas station, especially Shell locations within Oregon. While it's true Shell stations are typically cleaner and feature a quality "clean" unleaded fuel, they also have a less than adequate staff handling the pumps. This station is of no exception, sporting some of the slowest and shoddiest service I've experienced. Service begins with a smile, but i don't get it from most of the attendants. I often wonder if they're understaffed during the day time, because cars pile up here during rush hour rather often. And due to the slow times, cars wait here longer than most. Where the rest of the country would just get out and handle the pumps themselves, it's here in Oregon where we have the luxury of full service. It would probably seem unfair to expect more of a gas attendant. After all, it's a bonus if they're willing to wipe down your windows or check your oil, but these ones just struggle just getting the gas thing going. Had it not been for a Shell credit card that we have, I might not come here at all. That's corporate gasoline service for ya. Come nightfall, the sketches come out and it makes for a good people watching session. The last time I was here for an extra *slow* pump, I saw what looked like the Walking Dead congregating on the sidewalk. While I'd be apt for a beverage refill and the occasional road snack, I'd rather just get my gas and go instead. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The old lady working here - claimed to be a manager - was absolutely horrible. Zero respect for patrons; wouldn't let me have 3 minutes in the bathroom without pounding on the door. It's a shame, because the guy working there was nice enough. I am not a giant fan of most Shell stations just based on their base gas prices. They offer all these discounts (cents really...not great ones) but their base price is ridiculously higher than any other stations anywhere around so even with the discount you are paying a higher price. With that said, however, this spot I stop at frequently due to its location which is terribly convenient and their service folks are very friendly and fast even though this station (again, due to the location) is almost always pretty swamped. read more

A few hours ago I visited the store I bought a rock star and a beef stick As I was driving down the road I took about 5 bites (half way the beef stick) and something didn't taste right to my surprise I opened the package and the beef stick was green and white and black MOLD I then felt sick to my stomach, I pulled over to gather my thoughts, and then decided to go back to the store at 621 grande Avenue in portland Oregon store number 520 When i talked to the manager she said there is nothing she could do to make this right so i asked for her boss she then talked to someone who told her to give me this number five zero three 233 2458 to my surprise when I called it was disconnected I then googled corporate and left a couple voice mails . With no respond I contacted Bbb and Oregon state health department, I do have a weak immune system and now worried I might be getting sick the next couple of days.... still waiting on a respond from store manager Anelia Bamberger to return my call.... either way if I get sick since this just happened2 hours ago if I get sick I will place a lawsuit on jackson store #520 I wish I could post the pictures on here read more

What a sh*t show. I have to give the gas station props for convenience and access. The gas prices aren't cheap but damned if you're going to find another station even remotely close to this one. But really I come here more often for sundries. If you're down on Grand and in need of beverages, energy, junk food or simple people watching, this is your place. The majority of customers here rival those at the 7-11 on the corner of 82nd and Powell. A heady mix of street people, homeless and... more street people. Roll through at 10pm on a weekend night and you're in for a total freakshow. Some times it's entertaining but if you're in a hurry it can be super annoying. I really don't care if you had to spare change all day for enough pennies to buy that pack of Twinkies. They're not going to sell it for less than the price marked on the package. Stop arguing, pay, and get out of my way. The folks who work here can be nice but you can tell they put up with a lot of bullshit from the regular clientele. Surprisingly the store itself is not that battle weary, however. It's bright and seems startlingly well-kept, although that could just be a stark contrast to how unkept most of the people in the aisles are. Just know that if you roll through here at peak hour, you'll see interesting shit. But you'll still be able to stock up on Vitamin Water, 5 Hour Energy and gum. read more

First, I buy any brand of gas but Shell. This is not a gas review, it is about the Jackson market and the owners. They have a station and market in the heart of the city with filth all around them but this place is spotless! They keep the entire place spotless. They have a decorative iron fence around the property and clean, well manicured lawn. The inside of the store is immaculate. They make an effort worth taking note of to keep the inner city clean and usable for the people who live and work in the area. Believe me, this is a never ending battle in this area with our homeless crisis. I support this store and. hope others do to read more

Shell Gas Stations ~ Making people late since 1928 Oh goody a gas station! This should be quick & easy! You mean I have to go inside and pay with my cash dollars before you can even start pumping my gas? So I go inside and there's nobody there to take my money and press the buttons to make the gas pump work so that Joe Durt outside there can pump my gas so I can get the hell on with my business. Believe me this was not the first and only time this has happened here. It happens every fucking time I come to this "convenient" auto fuel servicing location. How about I just give you, the Gas Jockey, the $20 and you go inside and pay while I just pump the 6.6 gallons and we'll be done and I can be outta here in a jiffy! Oh is that because you're just barely trusted to pump fuel and not handle cash money? Or is there some other element at play here? What do you mean I can't pump my own gas?! It's my car. I change the oil and air up the tires and replace the battery and windshield wiper blades. I do all that stuff because no one else will do it. Why can't I use the highly technical "gas pump"? This "no-self-serve" law passed in 1951 should have been repealed long ago. What non-self serving moronic state are we in here? You thought that was a rant?! Not even close, here comes the rant: This could all be made simple if I just used one of those new-fangled "debit" cards. The reason I don't use one of those "convenient" debit cards is because the convenience is just an open invitation for your bank to steal your money from you using sneaky little "convenience" charges. Theft sucks, especially when it's by your bank doing the stealing from you and it sucks even more when your politicians say it's okay for the banks to steal from you because the banks are paying the politician to campaign next election for you to vote for him again. For him to "re-new" his job another term he needs good TV ads because his TV ads have got to be better than the other guy's TV ads in order for him to keep his job. It's very simple, I'll show you. So you see the bank steals money from you and gives it to the politician and then the politician says it's okay for the banker to steal your money. So I guess I have to deal with imbecilic gas station "rules" using cash because I don't want a debit card. Now I know why so many people ride bicycles in this town! To the managers of this gas station, you NEED to train your new attendants how to open all variations of fuel doors. We came here a few days ago. We have an Audi A5. You push on the left side of the fuel door and it pops open, no latch needs to be pulled in order for it to release. We shared this information with our attendant. It's a very, very simple concept and design. At least we thought it was. The attendant was struggling to push, as I looked in the passenger side mirror to watch him, I noticed he was pushing on the right side of the door instead of the left. The next 5 seconds were like watching a slow car crash that you couldn't stop, before I could say anything he pushed the bottom of the door to create a gap on the top where he wedged his gloved fingers in and pulled. All you could hear were three loud snaps, he did it in one quick movement, I had no chance to correct him verbally before it happened. His reaction made us more mad. He told us "I didn't rough house or anything, you should get your car checked out. It just fell off." First of all, this is a newer model, bought new, Audi ... pieces don't just fall off of the car. Second off, I saw you panic from not knowing how to open the fuel door so you went into "get the door open at any cost" mode. We looked at the back of the door, all three pieces of plastic were snapped clean off. He then followed up with "this is my first shift and I'm really nervous, I don't want to get in trouble." At this point, we'd both just gotten off a 10 hour work shift and had a 30+ minute drive in traffic to get home. We had no energy to deal with something that couldn't be undone and didn't want this guy to get fired right before Christmas. We left and figured that he would never do that again to another car, he looked like he was about to crap his pants. Once we got home, we realized how much money this is going to cost us, a single headlight bulb is $300 alone -- slightly terrified to know how much an entire fuel door/hinge and instal will cost us. All due to this new guy not getting properly trained on how to do his job. Now we are the ones paying the couple hundred dollar consequence for something you shouldn't have to worry about when coming to a gas station. We went to another one earlier today and the attendant came out and went "Ohhhhhh $&@?!!! What gas station did that to you?" I will never come back here and honestly, all Shell gas stations are ruined for me -- I wonder if this is a company new hire issue. read more

I like this gas station alot. the attendants are never to helpful that you feel it's necessary to tip and the workers inside are always having a good time laughing and joking around with people. they also have dog treats at the pump. I'm not sure what they are, defiantly on the crappy side, but the guys always so excited to give them to my dog I can't help but say yes. as for the comment below, there is a pressure gauge attached to the air pump, as it is with the majority of coin operated air pumps I have used it many times. read more

i thought the air in my tires might be too low, especially after driving around in the snow/ice and then... NOT driving in the snow/ice...not driving for a while, actually... so, i did what i was taught: go to the gas station and have them check your air pressure (being that i don't have my own tool), make sure it's all good. it's not good to drive on low tires! i pulled in to this station (which is already pretty awkwardly spaced out, like a diagonal triangular crazy shape) and parked at the pay-with-quarters-only air pump. but: i wanted to check the pressure first to avoid any catastrophes of over-inflating. i stood in front of an attendant for a minute before he even acknowledged my presence, and when i asked him if he had a tire gage or whatever it's called and he just flat out said no. i figured in a state that doesn't let you pump your own gas and often asked if you need fluids checked that they would be equipped to check the air-pressure. especially because they have that air pump. but no, and he was rude about it. read more

The one thing about this gas station is that it is Very Convenient! There are not many gas stations in this part of town, and if you are going to try to find a gas station in downtown, The Pearl or in NW23rd area, you are basically S.O.L. This gas station is perfect, even though they are about .10 higher than others places. As far as the gas station employees, they are nice and they do there job good. Inside the convenience store, the employees are nice and are always willing to help. There are a lot of different characters that roam through this part of town, so they are constantly dealing with all walks a life, so I have to give them credit for being consistent with their customer service. I have to say this, they give better customer service than a lot of places in Portland, which is very crucial for me. The only reason I did not give it four stars is because sometimes they are so slammed that they are understaffed, but I eventually get my gas, which is what I am there for. They can just get really slammed because they have no competition in their area. read more
