Had all kinds of billing issues in the past especially if you upgrade or downgrade your service. Every few months there are outages that last an entire day. They did poor work running wires and cable to.other rooms. Customer service is poor. One day I called at 5:15 pm.. Sat on hold until a few minutes after 6 to be told customer service is now closed call back tomorrow. A couple times on a Friday I called to pay my bill over the phone. I was told there was a staff meeting to call back later. Cable service is alright. Internet has outages once in a while but when it's up, its does the job. Basically living where we live if you want cable this is about your only choice. Almost always long holds waiting for customer service. When you do reach a representative they start blaming you and your tv, ethernet cable, for what might have went wrong, and when channels are out for days or weeks at a time no compensation. Heck one time our local channels froze so I put a video of the whole thing on their facebook pages and then when they actually fixed it(it lasted two weeks) they demanded I write another comment on facebook telling them how good a job they did. Finally got Sling/Hulu, and Netfllix so will be saying goodbye to cable. Internet is alright, although subject to random outages. read more

There are a lot of outages due to fiber cuts this summer. Fiber cuts are probably not the fault of Packerland Broadband, but it sure takes awhile to repair them. When there is a fiber cut we lose all but 8 or 9 of our channels. Internet goes out too, and can go be out for 12 to 15 hours. Packerland Broadband USED to pride themselves with no gimmicks, no fancy promo offers, and what you see for a price is what you get. I pay roughly $130 a month for Internet, Digital cable with HD package.. They are now offering the same package to new customers for $89.00 a month for 12 months. So much for people who were loyal with them for the last 7 years. read more

Canceled their services in May of 2019. Since it never worked anyway. To top it off their tech put a scratch in my tv. Just got a bill from them in October for 149. Called to talk to them about. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for service if you're in the market for internet service. NOTHING that is promised on their website is accurate. Between my husband and me, we have made over 15 calls over the past month to get our internet service corrected. We are responsible for two accounts in different locations. Both would go out at the same time (on a nearly daily basis) and we couldn't get anyone to come check it out. We were told initially that it was us, then that it was a problem with several people, that it was being monitored, that they'd return our phone calls (few were returned). Then, after receiving a bill with the full amount (again, after calling almost daily for problems with service), I had to call AGAIN to have our bill readjusted. Cable options are limited to this outfit. The other option is Satalite. I have been with Packerland for 3 years out of necessity. Signal seems affected by everything! No compensation for outages. 33 channels for $85. Miserable communications with employees. When new management was placed at Packerland a letter went out urging contact with questions, problems, etc. No contact is possible. Will not respond. I was initially impressed when I first subscribed to their internet service. Then the wheels fell off. It seems they are no different than the big cable/satellite companies. Once they have you, you are moved to the bottom of the list. When I started with PBB, I was quoted an introductory rate for 12 months even though I told them we will only be in WI for 6 months. When I called to stop service, I was told if I put it on vacation hold while I am gone ($8/mo) I will have the same rate when I return. So I pay $8 month while I am gone only to come home and find out my new rate is more than double what I was told. Why would anyone in their right mind pay $8 month for vacation hold if they knew their rate would double when they return? It makes no sense! Now they want to charge me $85 for 20 mps internet and basic cable but if I am a new customer, I can get it for $60. And even though I was paying for 20 mps service, I was only getting from 8 to 14 mps service the entire time. We had faulty equipment (modem) and I was told they will be out in a week to check/replace it. I told them that was unacceptable so I ended up driving one hour to pick up a replacement myself. When I get it home it is not programmed correctly. So I spent over one hour with tech support and they said they would have to send out a tech (in 5 days). I finally got a Supervisor to call me back (3 hours later) and she was able to set it up correctly after another hour on the phone. (What does that say about their tech support)? The field personnel are nice and efficient but the office support is horrible. I think the service people only come to specific area's on certain days. So if you need service on Thursday but they only serve your area on Wednesday (as is the case where we live), guess what? You wait a week for your service. It doesn't matter if it is completely out. You will often hear "that is our policy" or "I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about it". That is not how "Customer Service" works! If you have screwed up, you find a way to fix it! Calls overflow to service department after hours and they are not able to look into the system to see or confirm any appointments or previous incidents. They promise to put through a request to have someone call you but no one calls you. You call back and they have no record of you talking to the service department. Fortunately, we are moving soon and I will not have to deal with them any more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU FIND ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER UP HERE. THIS COMPANY HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. I don't normally like publicly lambasting a company but this has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life! read more

lost tv AND internet at 9:14 pm last nite - tried calling to report it - it took at least 40 min before someone FINALLY answered my call - was told they were aware of an outage in our area - technician was working on it and it should be fixed shortly, which is their answer everytime this happens - which is ALOT !!!!! Staring at the walls the rest of the nite, we discovered still no service in the morning. Called again at 8:50 am - again put on hold for about 20 min - when they finally answered, I got the same crap about a technician working on it but they have no other details about what is happening. I asked them if their technicians don't keep them informed and what happened to the tech that was supposed to be working on it last nite. The girl said there was no tech called last nite (?????????) and they have word now that one was on his way to check it out. Finally, service was restored within 90 min, PROOF that they hand you Bull Sh** when there is a problem and will fix it when THEY feel like it. Also, regarding their billing system....they put a due date on their bills, then they purposely DO NOT mail them out until a week before the due date - which means you had better pay that bill and mail it within one day of receiving it - or they tack on a $35 late charge fee!!! So if you take a vacation around the time the cable bill arrives, be prepared to pay the late fee. WHAT A FREAKIN' RACKET!!! I even contacted our local Post Office to see if the holdup could be on our end, and they assured me it would be against the law for them to do that, and it was definitely coming from the other end (Packerland) and that this was NOT the first complaint they received about this sneaky procedure. Complaining about it trying to catch them in the act does no good either - again, they will deny everything and blame it on their "Chicago" mailing company (again ???????). I finally gave up and started paying my bill by using a credit card, so they cannot hit me with any more of these bogus late fees!!!! Because we live in such a small community in a different state, this is the ONLY cable company that will service us, so we are STUCK with these crooks. Never will understand why cable companies cannot cross boundaries to offer customers some competition in our business world and quit monopolizing the marketplace. Service tech comes out and disconnects the next door neighbor because they moved and the quality of the tech they send cuts my service also. When I called to get my internet back I was told that it would take 3-5 business days to get it back up. In the mean time I can not use the internet for business and for my phone which is off wifi. The service rep says I will send it over to service and maybe they can send a refund to me. Wow this is great. If I had any other service available I would be gone in a heartbeat. read more

I have personally NEVER dealt with a company as horrible as Packerland Broadband. I will probably just switch to Dish and cancel their service. Customer Service is TERRIBLE. They are rude, rude, rude! They could care less. I have only had their service for a few days and I am already fed up. They brought me a bad cable for the modem and when I called to say my internet barely works, they said it is probably the ethernet cable, go to Walmart and buy a new one! I told them I am in a rural area and the closest Walmart is 1 hour away. They said they don't service anything past the modem. Which by the way is a cheap piece of garbage. "Jim" said they have low prices. NO!!! I have never paid so much for internet or TV in my life! Channel selection is VERY poor (think many sports, hunting, home shopping, news channels etc. Internet is TERRIBLE and anywhere from $40 to $60 a month. Never in my life have I paid this much for internet. They call it high speed, but it often isn't. Tech support does not even exist. I got a call back from a phone operator who clearly did not know what the hell she was talking about. She was also rude and inconsiderate. Send in the clowns! Signed up for the $90/month package. Paid $200 for the first month and install? Install was $60. Figured a credit first bill. 3 weeks later get a bill for $120. 2 weeks later get another bill for over $150. Huh? Paid the first month up front, paid for the second month already, now another bill? I signed up September. It''s the end of October, and they want a third payment? The 50 Mbps on average is 22-25 they gauge it by having to have an Ethernet cord hooked up. ??? The 5 up has never been higher the 1.20 Mbps. Obviously the speed I'm looking at is wireless, so you lose half your speed going wireless??? Wow... All I can say is stay away. The tech's are great! But living in Bonduel also we're at the end of the line, and they don't want to stick any money in updating equipment. You offer 50 down, 5 up, that's what you provide. As Jacki said, small community... Don't know why someone flagged her comments... Since it was installed all the upper/HD stations still digitize. 110 which is the same as 599, we're no longer "authorized" for 110??? Wow is all I have to say. Going back to TDS. If you look at the 1 other review that's not recommended, Jacki hit it right on the head. Had their service a little over a month, Dish is coming over tomorrow and TDS next week. Overall, the service has improved over the years, the internet is reliable, and the cable has been satisfactory. But where do I start with the Customer Service? One day, I decided to downgrade my cable. It came to a point where we were paying $145.00 a month for internet, and about 100 channels we never watch. I cut my cable package down to where I no longer needed digital boxes. The digital boxes needed to be returned back to Packerland Broadband. The CSR told me they would send prepaid shipping tags in the mail. I waited about a week, or two.. No shipping tags. I later called and asked where the shipping tags were, they never sent them yet. Two days later I get an automated call from Packerland Broadband saying my account is being refereed to field representatives for disconnection. What? Really? I immediately called them to ask what the problem was. I called about 5:15 pm after work, waited on hold until 6 PM, when I was connected to after hours tech support. Tech support told me call back tomorrow, offices are closed. I called during the posted business hours, and waited patiently, but they close down while I was on hold for 45 minutes? I call back the next day (friday), at 11 AM, I got tech support again.. This time customer service was in a meeting, call back after 12 PM... (really???).. I call back after 12 PM, I Finally got a hold of someone in customer service. They told me my balance is $723.31.. I need to pay that today. I told them its not my fault they made no attempt to pick up the boxes. They told me the return labels were shipped two days ago.. But I haven't received them yet. I explained to Packerland Brodband that they couldn't legally couldn't disconnect my service for not returning the cable boxes when I haven't yet been billed for them. They told me they would talk to their supervisor. They basically wanted me to pay my balance, and then credit me when the boxes are received.. I'm thinking "no way". I've had so many billing issues in the past with PLBB, I'm not going to give them anymore than I have to. My wife owns a business, my daughter has online classes, we can't be without internet, and Packerland Broadband is basically the only provider in my area. So I told Customer Service I will drive to Iron Mountain (90 miles one way) and return it to their office. When I got there to return the boxes, there was yet ANOTHER issue. I was being billed $281.25 for a DVR.. I needed to return the DVR.. but I NEVER HAD A DVR. I only had two digital boxes. They did some cross-referencing and cleared my account.. But what can I say? When they are the only provider in my town, and they know it.. What else can you do? Service has gotten better, but I have the impression there is no communication between departments, and nobody has a clue what's going on.. Also, I might add their digital boxes are old, outdated, clunky, and they get hot.. One digital box will suck about $6.00 worth of power per month.. If you have 2 boxes, its a $12.00 a month increase on your electric bill. Not only do you pay a high price for digital cable, you also have to factor in the cost for running the box, which uses the same amount of electricity shut off, then it does when its turned on.
