Thinking this company must have lots of internal staff issues as well, perhaps they hope you will hang up or your phone will die before you get thru. After listening to the haggard generic explanation of my bill from the CSR, she said 'the best I can do is $152. per month' like we are negotiating or something? Stanwood WA support service is poor. Technician wait time is unacceptable and unreliable. The window of service tech during the day is too long, I have taken a day off from work on numerous occasions just to be available for the technicians. There are not enough technicians. To wait for a tech rep for four weeks is not acceptable. And for the technician not to call before arrival which is what they are supposed to do is unacceptable. In the past 13 years of living in this neighborhood and having to utilize wave broadband due to being the only internet service reliable at the beginning, customer service has dropped significantly. We will never recommend wave broadband to anyone and we hope with the new housing development of over 400 within the one-mile radius will promote competitors in the area. A good subject to discuss with city council members, bring more selection to Stanwood! read more

We had wave broadband for a year. The first thing that happened was my smart tv modem quit as soon as we connected wave to it. Our price is 199.00 a month and we just have basic but do have stars. Very few movies and they play them over and over. We don't get espn, history, motor trend, Hallmark, TCM, etc. very few choices.. Also the internet for some reason buffers on some YouTube videos which never happened when we had Centurylink internet. Yes we test the speed and sometimes have to reboot the modem but it test fast. All in all I'd rate Centurylink a 4 and wave a 2. read more

Gigabit service that actually delivers. I've had Wave service on and off for a few years now. I've tried the competition in Canby just to be fair, but Wave is competitive and has multiple advantages where I live and in several other parts of town. What I like: 1. Wave offers gigabit cable across all of Canby. The competition has large swaths of town that only offer 5-10MB DSL, which is embarrassingly slow. 2. Price wise, they're in line with the competition. The gigabit plan does not have data caps. 3. Their service is reliable. I own my own modem and router, and any complaints I've seen regarding reliability have come from folks who rent equipment. I think good hardware is very important, and I just don't know if I trust the stuff that is rented out. If I had any complaints, they'd be: 1. The upload on the gigabit service is pretty low. I'd like to see some improvements on this. 2. Also, there are data caps for the lower speed plans, so if you need a lot of data keep that in mind. 3. It's possible that they equipment they rent out is no good. I can't confirm this because I purchased my own to avoid rental fees. If these three things change, they'll get all 5 stars. Note: I only have their internet service. I haven't ever used their cable TV or phone services. read more

I guess one star is fair since the service sort of works with zero stars implying not at all. I will sum it up with this much: I opted for slower Century Link dsl over these guys. I wanted Comcast internet but not available in my area, unfortunately. I recently upgraded to Wave's "250 Mbps" product before finally just giving up on them today. Bought the right DOCSIS modem and everything was ready. No change in speed on all devices from the 10Mbps I had for years. Then recently I started noticing the "autopay" paperless billing was not working. Apparently they some how defaulted to an expired card. Of course they charged a fee for overdue balance. Called them up and got the situation straight or so I thought. Their solution it turned out was to switch me back to paper billing through snail mail and disable paperless. I then get a bill in the mail that I was overdue yet again. That was it for me. Paid the remaining balance and told them to go kick rocks. Garbage. Pure garbage. I want to root for the little guy but not when they out-Comcast Comcast in being beyond terrible with their business practices. At least Comcast delivers on their speeds or they don't offer the product. Hopefully Wave goes bust and Comcast buys them out. They are all monopolies anyway. read more

My husband and I are livid! We bought a cabin in the lower Mt. Hood area and Wave told us we could get cable TV there and they said they sent a tech there a week ago stating it was absolutely possible to do so we reconfigured our entire schedule for this week and went and stayed at the cabin the last 24 hours waiting for them to come install and at the very end of the day they arrived saying there is absolutely zero service where we are located. Needless to say I opened a can of "whoop ass "on them! I detest being lied to! This company only has to run cable up a mile from where they are getting service area into ours and there is a lot of money to be made on the dozens and dozens of cabins around ours and they have not evolved enough in 2016? Is it possible to find a more incredibly frustrating service than the TV service we subscribe to with WAVE? Every night, trying to watch feel-good movies on WAVE, we experience continuous pixel issues and intermittent voice that makes the experience one that makes us want to scream. How can we enjoy, let alone understand, movies when the voice and pixels go away? We can't seem to get through a movie without persistent issues. Is there ANY alternative? It is completely unacceptable, and we can't believe that current subscribers opt for anything except Internet from WAVE. We have to assume that WAVE chooses not to do due diligence to even see themselves that their product is substandard, and that, alone, says a great deal about their goal to provide a worthy service to customers. We can only suggest that users seek alternatives...or plan to have sufficient liquid options available to suffer through the viewing "experience" that WAVE provides. read more

The people are nice and they get right out their when you need them, and they were very helpful in the install of my home system, but my big issue is the shows tend to freeze up during viewing or sometimes unable to load. This only happens 10% of the time, but its enough to notice. I'm hanging in there in hopes that they will fix the problem. If they do, I'd be happy to upgrade the stars. read more

Talked to someone about 4-5 months ago about my terrible service. They reset my promotional discount for another year as a sort of an apology. Today I received a bill that showed my account's monthly charge is now almost double. Hmmm... It hasn't even been a year since my last review so I KNOW my promotion should still be valid... This company is a horrible company, wish Yelp would let you put negative stars!!!!! My wife and I moved into a new place. We were told 2 weeks prior a field tech was going to come out and make sure everything would be ready. Move in day!!! Tech shows up and says "sorry we are gonna have to file for permits to run your internet underground." Gets into to his van and leaves. Confused as hell I call what they call customer service, get nothing but the run around. "Someone will come out and look again in 3 or 4 days..." WTF?! Now 3 and a half weeks and 7 calls later... Still NOTHING!! So I called again and now they "don't have any record of any of my phone calls or any record of our address being set up to get internet. There should be a zero stars! From customer service to Internet access they deserve zero. As a business owner myself, I know. I've had the same problem for the last two months especially. Six techs out and 25 phone calls. Supposed to be sending a supervisor, because I begged. Pretty bad when you have waves phone number on your desktop and programmed into your smart phone. I asked for 100 speed and they signed me up in the beginning for the lowest speed. Every tech tells a different story but no one has resolved my issue to date. I could write a book of my experience and time invested with just wave employee interactions. All I can say is Comcast is on their way soon and Wave will be out of business! They need to put the 1000 workers who answer phones into training on how to resolve issues and the proper way to speak to a customer. Their customer service 50% of the time is just terrible.every person speaks for 100 so imagine how many people are disappointed with the one star reviews here. The 5 star reviews are a little suspicious because nobody's doing a 3 or a 4 star, so I expect it's probably someone who knows someone our works for the company themselves. Great service out here in the sticks of Grand Ronde/Sheridan, Oregon. Same day service - really nice guy (Mark), he would have come right out, but I had to ask for the next morning. And that worked for him too. He was right on time. Took about 20 min total to wire under & around my RV; get it all setup inside; and get me educated (I'm a not-too-savvy senior). Whew!! He left and suddenly nothing worked! I called their tech line and got a real person in under 5 min in the middle of the day. It took one switching over and one unplugging to correct it. (My guess is that it was the account being entered somewhere.) Bottom line: Good rates, great service, nice folks, and my whole day wasn't wasted in waiting!! What more could I ask for? In this review i will be talking about Branch Service, appointments\hook up, Interruptions/Speed, Telephone support/rep helpfulness.. These will have its own star system. As i don't believe that a full star rating can be applied to all sections i will cover. First off i live in Stayton, Oregon. Stayton is not a large town by any means only about 78k population. Stayton is in rural area about a 25 min drive from Salem. 1. Branch service Rating 1.5 Stars Stayton branch service/professionalism is terrible. One big problem is my wife got a wave bundle for TV internet and phone. when she turned in the modem, cable box, and phone thingy. they lost the phone thingy and charged her for the phone unit. on my wifes part she did not get a receipt for turning in the item and no receipt was offered. Upon talking to a lady in the branch in Stayton, she claimed she was going to look into the matter and give us a call. Of course no call came. i could tell that when she offered to call it was just to make the customer feel like something will be done do we can stop complaining and holding up the line that was growing behind us. we called customer service they also cannot find the item either. after another call someone said she didn't turn in any items; then another one claimed they found 2 of the 3 items she turned in. In short i dont think they really know what they are doing. i have since then minimized all dealings with the Stayton branch. the only thing i do now is take my bill in to get paid. i have stopped do that and just mail in the check. to avoid problems no matter what you do.. ALWAYS get a receipt for each item or bill you turn in, and make sure the serial number is on that receipt. 2. Appointments\Hook up Rating 3.5 Stars Appointment schedule was fine. Encounter 1: 5 Stars.. We live in a apartment, my wife and i don't work so we didn't have to juggle a work around for someone being home all day. the guy who came out was Really nice he had a lot of knowledge was polite and answered any questions we had with no problem. and he went the extra mile to make sure we were connected. (more people in service need to be like him) took him about 15 to 20 mins to complete. Encounter 2: 1.5 Stars. we moved to a new apartment. It was a different person, This man was slightly less than OKAY not talking much. Not at all very friendly. his over all demeanor was lacking, customer satisfaction didn't seem to be high on his list. he reluctantly answered questions. And he did everything except hook up my internet to my computer. he told me he can't cause my computer was a fair distance away from the cable jack they were going to use, and this guy TOLD me to go buy a Ethernet cable that was long enough.. ill be damned if i was going to pay extra money per month per jack. My first thought while talking with this guy was this guy hates people or at least interacting with humans.. i can relate thats is why im not in a service roll of any kind, but to be fair we don't know his situation. All this combined together is terrible customer service tho. For the appointment i had to wait a WHOLE TWO WEEKS! they were that booked. Also fyi for those that dont know you have to cancel service at that address before getting new service in a different name IE after a divorce. It was extremely annoying cause i have T-Mobile and ZERO cell service in the apartment. so i have to use wifi or a personal cell tower as reception. 3. Service Interruptions Rating 3.5 Stars Service Interruptions Are common I won't deny that. working with computers sometimes things just happen. I don't know the cause of their outages but i assume its maintenance related though that might not always be the case. We don't know. for those that have frequent outages you CAN use https://www.opendns.com This will change your DNS servers to ones that don't have outages and it is free.. This is a more advanced settings for your router if you have one. I have been with them many months and i have not had any outage for about 4 months since i made the change. Speed Rating 4 Stars It's important to remember that Wave as with most other cable companies use what i call nodes to supply a WHOLE neighbor hood. So more people that live around your node and are connected to it, The slower your speed with be. i have the speed 100 plan. and here i download about 9 MB/sec and peaks around 13 MB/sec from the Steam gaming platform. This was before the Open DNS change the speed are slightly slower but for avoiding outages i feel the trade is worth it for my situation. Telephone support Rating 3.5 Stars This is a hard one to rate. As I've talked to some really good people and 1 that was not so good. I can see the effort for the 2 week install they did wave the install fee for me. upon my 1 year promotion end. called and they reduced the price for another year a few times. RESPECT is good when calling support; I find that if you treat people nice they will be nice. read more

I'd give 4 stars for the quality of internet and cable service. The problem is the customer service on the phone. The technicians I've met at my home have been top notch. We just moved to the Mulino area and we had 2 choices for service. Wave had the higher speeds and the previous owners had used Wave, so we stuck with them. In early November, I ordered Internet, Phone & Cable using their on-line order forms. At the completion of the order it said I would receive a call within 36 hours confirming my order and also to inform me when the technician would be out. Three days later, I thought I should call! I got a live person (Sterling) and was told that I was on the schedule for Sunday morning at 8am. Whoa! We changed it to Monday at 10am. He also informed me that they would only be hooking up Internet at that time. He said there was nothing in the order indicating Cable or Phone. Monday rolled around and the technician arrived and got us hooked up to Internet. He did a fine job and was concerned about our other desires. He suggested I wait a few hours or day before calling in the order for Cable. I waited a full day. I got Sterling again. He assured me I would get a call for a Cable technician to come out in the next couple of days. Nearly a week later, I called again. I wish I could remember the name of this customer service guy! He as appalled that I had not been given a time slot nor a quote on what I was "buying". He said it was unacceptable that I was treated this way. He assured us that the 2nd visit would have the $60 installation fee waived and that my cost as a new customer ("victim") would be about $160/mo for internet and 2 cable boxes. The date and time arrived and a different, wonderful technician arrived and fixed us up. He trained us on how to use the system. Very helpful. I decided to give up on the phone idea for now. We've got good cell coverage anyway. Latest update: Got the bill. Not so funny. The installation fee was never waived, so we got hit for $60 two times. The monthly was $210, not $160. Another phone call to their main number... A different customer service guy came on. He informed me that CS guy #2 never put any "notes" in our communication record regarding the waiving of the $60 and the monthly cost of $160. There was nothing he could do about it. No apologies, just "is there anything else I can help you with today?". Nope. VERY frustrating. Wave has a real problem in how their customer service people are trained. All in all, it was better than a horse kick in the head. But, not by much. read more

My partner and I have taken to calling them "Dave's Internet" because this whole operation feels like it's run out of a scammer's garage. My building gave me no choice but to use this service. The person I had to deal with to start service was jaw-droppingly rude to me and lied about the timeline for getting service started. They also apparently did not complete the paperwork for billing and 4 months passed before I was able to make any payments. Now, happily, I'm in the process of discontinuing service, but the antics are back -- I called the customer service line, they told me a different local rep would call me, he never did. I finally tracked him down through my building, and his way of communicating with me is to send poorly-written texts in which he does not identify himself. Finally he sent me an incomprehensible form to fill out; I asked him to call me to assist me, and he has not. I can't wait to be done working with these clowns. Never again. read more

Tonight i have no internet because their employee was playing with the line from the pole outside my house and he accidentally disconnected me. I pay $130. For internet alone and they wont come out until tomorrow. I had to sit and trouble shoot with their phone tech for an hour. Unless you pay extra every month for tech insurance house calls are $30. a piece. You have to continually watch your bill as they have a tendancy to over bill. Funny thing is its always in their favor. You are better off without anything its less frustrating. read more

Once again, my day starts dealing with Wave and their crappy service and down right shameful customer service. Internet is always slow and doesnt work half the time, phone service is crap. Made an appointment to have the cable line dropped to do tree service and they gave me an appointment.....but when they were a day late i called them only to be told my appoinment is not really an appoinment...its a place holder is what they said. They said they wpuld be here sometime within the next 2 weeks. Thats it for me. Wave can have their crap service. My advice is to go with centurylink here in depoe bay. I have worked in the IT industry for over 10 years and this is by far the worst and most dysfunctional ISP that I have ever dealt with. My service was disconnected after two weeks. When I called for an explanation I was told that my service was stopped for three months of non-payment. I hadn't even been a customer for three months! So I canceled all services. When they came out to pick up my equipment, I was told that I was missing some of their equipment, which was completely wrong, and that I would be charged for missing gear. I know very well what IT equipment I own. Their whole billing and accounting system is a joke. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

A government agency was working on our road and pulled on the aerial wire, loosening it. I was told about this by the worker at 9am. He assured me that they had called Wave to come make repairs. When I got home about 4pm, the cable was still out. I called Wave customer service and after long, long explanations, was told by a male customer service agent that someone would be here by 8pm. When, of course, no tech showed up by 8pm, I called customer service again. A female customer service agent said that the order that the male put it was for the next morning. When I first got Wave, it was great. Better than what I had at my previous place "Charter". I am posting this negative review because over the last half a year or so I have had to call the worst customer service people ever. When I say worse, its because they automatically blame the customer or equipment and have attitudes. Due to my account being disconnected for no reason other than a mistake was made excuse. The most current occasion being today. Normally I am not one to complain but the technician "Joe" had to audacity to say he HAD to come into my home to make sure it's working, stuck his boot in the door so I could not close it. I told him thats not going to happen and then he mentioned he would have to re-disconnect, because he cant see if its working. I leave yall with this bit of information. If you have other providers, check them out first. Unfortunatly for me they are the only "MONOPOLY" provider in this area so anyone needing internet HAS to use them. read more

We recently moved to a new house and no internet provider would set us up, so I did a little research and found Wave hoping to have found a good internet provider, but I invested my hope in them for nothing. The internet is slow, I try to play a game online or watch netflix and the amount of time it takes to load is HORRIFYINGLY slow. Our internet has been working and broken almost as if on a schedule. And it crashed yesterday at 1:00 PM, they said it would be fixed at midnight, and it's still down. It's been 12 hours since they said it would be up and it's still not. So if you're looking to sign up with a good internet provider, I suggest you turn back now, because wave is anything but good. read more
