My experience with the Aston Martin service center has always been excellent. I have a DB11 and a Vanquish and have been a customer for five years. I had a bad experience years ago using an independent mechanic who claimed he worked on Aston's. Like the old saying goes you get what you pay for. I never feel nervous when I have to drop one of my cars off for service. It is comforting to know that all the mechanics are factory trained and only work on Aston's. I would like to give a special thanks to Mark Ciesla whose customer service has been outstanding! Mark makes everything easy. When I drop my cars off I know they are in good hands and will be taken care of. He is warm, professional, and has great communication skills. I have always worked on my DB9 myself, being too afraid of the hourly cost of using the dealer. Well, I could not get my misfire correction reset and took it in. Boy was I glad I did. 1. I came into the dealer on previous occasions shopping for a new Aston as I wanted to give the brand a second chance. I previously purchased a Rapide from another dealer and it was lemon lawed at 1,100 miles and that left a bad taste in my mouth. Although my friend had a terrible experience, overall mine had been decent. Well that oddly changed. I received an email 7/1 at 3:23 p.m. to drive the new DBX 707. I immediately clicked the link and RSVP'd. I received a follow up email that my spot was confirmed. 7/3 at 3:42, I receive an email saying all slots were full. I find that funny considering each day and time was available at the time I booked. Today 7/8, I receive another email to sign up for the drive. I clicked the link again and all Sunday slots were still available. I find that odd as those are the slots I picked for myself, and they are available. I realize my reservation being canceled had nothing to do with available slots. I feel had my skin been a different color and I was throwing money around, I would have received the slot to drive the DBX 707. Unfortunately I'm used to prejudice when shopping and purchasing high line vehicles. When the SUV originally came out, I expressed interest in it and mentioned I was willing to wait for a high-performance version even though one hadn't been announced at the time. Now that time has arrived, I'm being pushed off by the dealer. No sweat, it's clear my business isn't wanted and my relationship with the dealer and Aston Martin as a company is tarnished. There's definitely a racial bias here so be aware of that before doing business with this dealer. UPDATE: After posting this review, I received a text message around 9:02 the next morning saying two clients canceled and I can come in for a test drive. That's B/S so I politely declined. As a long time BMW M3/M4 owner (7 of them), I decided to make a change. I researched other automobiles and decided to purchase an Aston Martin. My friend had several Aston Martins over the years, and he is very happy with the brand. The dealership has new management team, which is undoubtedly a huge improvement (older Yelp reviews indicate a much less hospitable environment). Now the team is run by general manager, Jeff West, and they are customer service oriented. When you walk into the dealership you are greeted by friendly faces and treated as a VIP. The 2019 Vantage best suited my needs, so I asked to take it for a spin. Tim Shelton took me for a test drive. He was extremely knowledgable about all the Aston Martin models, and showed me the cool features. Tim was helpful and never pushy. We tested a few Vantage 2019s and also some DB11s. I liked the Vantage because it was more nimble (in my opinion); however the DB11 may be more suitable as a touring vehicle. The leather interior of the Vantage is unusually high quality, and smells amazing. Once seated in the comfortable seats you really won't want to get out of the car. I was surprised at the more roomy trunk space in the Vantage as compared to the other Aston Martin models. Next, I started the engine and enjoyed the roar of the Vantage's twin Turbo V8. We drove the Vantage around Newport Beach and I fell in love with the car. It handles extremely well, and sounds amazing. My must have recommendations for the Vantage 2019 are the following: 1. Quad exhaust (sounds amazing!) 2. Premium Sound (must have) 3. Comfort Collection 4. Tech Collection After contemplating my vehicle options (which included another M4, Tesla and others), I realized that I really wanted an Aston Martin. I dropped by on my lunch hour and spoke with Jeff West (the new General Manager). He was extremely personable and honest. Without any haggling, Jeff gave me an awesome deal and I told him to get the paperwork together. I returned after work and the deal was complete in less than 15 minutes. It's important to note that Aston Martin is offering ridiculous low interest rates when you lease a Vantage, thus the monthly payment on the car is a lot less than expected for a car in that price range. If you are considering a new luxury sports car, you should seriously consider visiting Aston Martin of Newport Beach. read more

We live in Laguna Beach and the closest place to service our 2007 Vantage is Newport. Unfortunately the service department here is dismal at best. We have now called three different times and left messages to get our car serviced.... never receive a call back. If they don't need the business, then why are they still open? All we ask for is the courtesy to have a phone call returned. What is worse is the fact the same customer service that we are lacking when trying to contact them this time is the same customer service we lack every time we've attempted service with Aston Martin of Newport service center. read more

This review is for the service department. Bjern was our Aston service advisor for years, and our neighbors' also. We all purchased and serviced our cars at Newport Beach. Well that great service and honest dealing is left with Bjern's departure. I brought my car in for service, which is still under factory warranty. After I provided my list of concerns to the new service advisor, some minor and some not, I was told that to look at and diagnose any of my issues, each complaint will be a minimum of $240, and if it is covered by warranty, then I will not be charged. If it is not covered by warranty, then I would be given a quote for the repair. If I chose the repair then the diagnosis fee waived. However, if I chose not to repair it, I would be responsible for the cost of diagnosis at $240 per issue. This is a very interesting proposition, by bringing my car back to where I purchased it for service, and under factory warranty, the dealership wants to guarantee payment of $960 (4 issues x $240) just to look at my car from me, firstly. Needless to say, I was rather put off by this new fandango matrix of charges, and I left the service department (in Tustin) with my car. I immediately contacted Ogara Coach in Beverly Hills. who services our Bentley and Phantom, to arrange pickup of my Aston from OC, which they gladly are willing to do for free, and of course I was not locked into any sort of $960 minimum diagnosis charge. Another way of looking at this diagnosis charge is that, even the most minor of complaints will probably cost more than $240 to fix. The Silver lining: all our cars will now be serviced at one location (Beverly Hills) and we will be dealing with one service advisor for all 3 makes. Also, we can all know that we were loyal to Bjern, our old advisor, because we didn't quit him, just the new service department that he no longer works at. read more

I just had another great service experience on my DB11 from the team at NB A-M. Fast, courteous and always done right whether routine maintenance or a tire repair. Kudos, also, to the great sales team and the amazing cars they've put into inventory at the dealership. Customer care on both the sales and service side has been terrific. I recently dropped of my AM Vantage for its 10k mile service, which was quoted around $1,100. I also brought the vehicle in for a small warranty issue with the leather seatbelt clasp. After Bjern described what the service entailed, he then provided a loaner vehicle (Jag) free of service. Later, that same day the car was ready. When going to pay for the car I noticed it was considerably cheaper than what was originally quoted. I asked Bjern why this was the case. As it turned out, some services (such as the break fluid replacement) were not needed. I was floored, as I was not use to such sincerity with dealerships. Normally they would move forward with the service needed or not. I will definitely do business with this dealership again... it was an excellent experience! read more

I bought my 2009 AM Vantage from these guys and was told everything was just serviced. The minute I drove off the lot, my check engine light came on and I called back. They told me that's common and likely just the gas cap being loose, which is common on most cars. The light has been on for multiple fuel ups, so I decided to get the diagnostics run. There's no way the car was serviced, and likely the engine light was just turned off long enough for me to purchase the car. I've driven the car less than 1k miles since I bought from them, and the EGR valves are completely shot, the air injection pump and valves are no good, and the whole intake manifold needs to be removed for repair. That's a $4k repair to get my "gas cap light" turned off. I feel completely swindled. I took the car in to the dealer this weekend asking if they'd buy it back and was told it's got too many miles for them to sell? It's only got 1k more than when they sold to me. And my salesperson is no longer employed there. Go figure. read more

I just purchased a certified preowned AM from this Newport Beach dealer. At this price point you would expect exemplary service and courtesy. From start to finish this was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Process was discombobulated, unsophisticated and frustrating. To my amazement on the day of delivery the car came with a dead battery and no fuel. They had jumped it just to get it off the lot and this was not transparently presented. This... after the salesman ASSURED he had personally checked the car. Really? I had to make all towing arrangements and coordination myself and had to pay because....yes the car was STILL registered in previous owner's name with AM Roadside. The person who sold me the car was nowhere to be found. My local dealership confessed that they were stunned that I was treated so poorly. To top it off, when the local dealer helped me to sync my phone, the previous owners contact list and phone was still in the system. Shame on this dealership. If you want to buy one of these fantastic cars....don't get it at Newport Beach! read more

While I accept your explanation of the series of events, it would be more conceivable had not 3 different sales/finance associates walk by us without uttering a word to us. There was one woman who occupied the corner office that just sat in her office the entire time and never once offered to help us or get anyone to help us. It may not have been her job, but even common decency would have dictated some sort of action on her part. Unfortunately, the only time I saw her get up was to get food from the aforementioned food truck outside. She even entertained another sales/finance associate in her office while they sat and joked and laughed. Again, not once even acknowledging our presence. That was most disappointing of all. So, I do thank you for your response and explanation. But I think there are some opportunities for customer service training with the staff, especially with the woman sitting in the corner office by the wall. I can't fault the sales associates who were working with other customers on the Jaguar side of the building for the F-Pace launch, but I do find fault with the lazy sales/finance worker who did see us and chose to ignore us. read more

A great experience purchasing a pre-owned DB9. Tom Cohen greeted me and was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was considering. We test drove a DB9 and Virage for comparison and I ended up purchasing the DB9. Negotiations were reasonable and I feel that I received a great car. I had one minor issue a few days after purchase. I called Tom and he was all over it. The service team was happy to check the vehicle and made a minor adjustment to correct the issue. I bought an Aston Martin V8 Vantage from them back in 2014 and have had nothing but problems with the car and this dealership's service department ever since. After spending top-dollar, I was treated to the following issues from this "high-performance" vehicle: 1. Stalling problems 2. Faulty convertible top. 3. Starting issues. 4. Ill-designed seats resulting in damaged leather. 5. Faulty hand-break 6. Clutch failure 7. A driver's door that doesn't shut properly. And last, but not least... 8. Engine failure at 18,000 miles. NB Aston Martin has refused to stand behind their vehicle, leaving me with an "exotic" lemon. My advice to you is to stay away from this make of car, and especially this dealership. read more
