I reside here and I did see the review and wanted to clarify the leasing office and the girls are delightful, upbeat, helpful, warming, very friendly and respectful team. I have came across residents talking very loudly to them in the office and they keep their composure with residents to resolve their problems as best as they can. They answer questions as needed if they can help especially when it pertains to the property and premises of Aston At Gateway, if they can not or its out of their hands they do let you know. They have service technicians on site not 24 hours a day and they to fix any issues in the apartment home as needed without you needed to call an electrician, plumber etc. The doors lock automatically once the door is closed since it is a key fob reader to make sure your doors locks so no one that's not in your apartment homes has access to your door. The girls are in office everyday from 9-6pm and if you lock yourself out they do let you back into your apartment home. Now if you do lock yourself out after hours the service technicians are on call and they do come back to give you access to your apartment home which is nice, there is a charge because they are working after hours other than that at other apartment homes or your own home you need to call a locksmith which usually has a bill of over $300 to unlock your apartment or your home since they drive out to you as well, so the cost is less than that. That's why I make sure I do have my keys on me at all times. The building is locked for security purposes and only current residents and work personnel have keys that access the building. The butterfly system is there to buzz tours, visitors or deliveries in. The girls are in office most of the time unless they are on tour or are on lunch break, that's why they have you down for your tour time to make sure they are in the office to let you into the community which I appreciate the extra step taken to keep all residents safe at all times. Aston At Gateway is a great upscale living experience with overnight security, service techs on call even when the leasing office closes for emergency calls, it takes time to come and drive out of their way to Aston to help and that is a service that I appreciate especially they have lock out calls after hours anytime of the day from 6pm-9am the next day! read more

Be prepared for frustration and poor treatment if you're considering moving into Aston at Gateway. Edited 11/20: I am attaching the communication to assist the management team in their internal review process. I was genuinely shocked to see their claim that "your review does not fully align with the interactions you have had with the team." Unjustified move-out charges and unprofessional management: I was charged for a full-unit repaint despite leaving the walls in perfect condition, with no evidence to support the charge. After three months of back-and-forth, including BBB involvement and highlighting that the charges were inconsistent with both the lease terms and California law, the charge was finally refunded. Not once did management apologize. A particularly revealing moment occurred when I informed community manager Jayvon of my intention to issue a demand letter. Instead of addressing my concerns, he accused me of "threatening" communication and claimed he was "beyond prepared to see me in court." This response to a tenant asserting their legal rights speaks volumes about the management's lack of accountability and professionalism. Frustrating noise complaint process: I've had persistent noise issues and reported them to the leasing office. They repeatedly asked for audio and video evidence, which I provided after significant effort. However, after multiple follow-ups, I was told, " we cannot accept videos as documentation from yourself. " This contradictory response and poor communication made an already frustrating situation worse and wasted my time. Very disappointing experience. Unauthorized attempt to enter: On 7/20/2024, a maintenance technician mistakenly tried to enter my apartment while I was not fully dressed. Although I stopped the door from fully opening, the intrusion was deeply uncomfortable, despite management apologizing afterward. read more

I am new to the area and have been living here for the past 2 months and WOW! From the very beginning Alison has been helpful, friendly, and made this process seamless - and her service has not changed! The grounds are always clean and the coffee is always stocked in the clubhouse. The gym is open 24/7 and has a great view of the pool, it has free weights and all the equipment I need for my workouts. It smells fresh, is always clean, and always stocked with wipes to clean the equipment. The co-working lounge space is amazing on the days I work from home and my wifi keeps me connected even when I leave my apartment. I appreciate Alison for explaining all the utility fees up front. There is an airport and fire station nearby so you do hear airplanes and firetrucks throughout the day, but hey that's City living. Maintenance is amazing and sometimes even respond within minutes of requesting service. They throw awesome resident events and contests so I've been able to meet my neighbors and they hand delivered bottles of champagne! The location is great, right by the freeway and is a short 15 minute drive to LA. Overall, I can't recommend this building enough! The team here is so nice and attentive. I went ahead and asked about the reviews about the lockout fees on my tour and they offer service techs who come in and take care of anything wrong with your apartment home. They let you back into your apartment home if you lock yourself out during business hours, after business hours the techs are on call and will drive out to let residents back in any time of the day, just like any place there is a extra charge to have someone drive out to do it. In other instances you have to call a locksmith where the bill can be 350 or higher for them to let you into your home. Moved in about two months ago. Good, brand new apartments with square room layouts. Quick maintenance servicing and great community amenities. Both Clara and Alison were super helpful from the apartment tours to the move in and were very accommodating to my needs. The apartment building is at a convenient location as it is right next to a bus transit station, many bus stops, restaurants and a Superior Grocers. Since it is close to an airport, airplane noises are heard during the day but can be easily drowned out by closing the windows and the balcony door and switching on the air conditioning or TV. Overall, it's been great for me! It's close to my workplace, super secure building with fob key access only, sunlight all through the day and being able to watch sunsets every day. read more

Not going to lie me and my wife fell in love with this place. We were a little hesitant but it just got better from the moment we went it. The complex looked amazing and we loved all the amenities and let's just say goodbye gym membership. Besides from everything being amazing it couldn't have been without our very spectacular little helper Vanessa. She was patient with me and my wife and was able to answer all the questions we had for her and we are making sure she helps us again when it moves closer to our possible move in date. I have been looking for a new place to live and decided to visit the Aston. I was greeted by the front office girls with smiles and they were all very kind. The assistant manager Clara was available to tour me and she walked me around the entire property. She showed me the beautiful court yard, community room/pool area and the gym. Everything looked so nice and clean. The units are spacious and made me want to move in right away. Aston at gateway is a luxurious building, which is new for the El Monte area not any other luxury buildings here. I've been looking to move closer to the area for work so Aston is in the perfect location. Not to mention being directly located near the metro gives me the option to take the train anywhere. I especially love that the gym is open 24 hours. I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. I walked in and was greeted by Meli who gave me a fabulous tour. From the outside, it looks like any other apartment building, but the amenities are top notch! The clubhouse has a pool table and tv and I can see myself entertaining my friends on the weekends. The coworking lounge is perfect for the days I need to work from home. My favorite was the salt water pool, it's like a resort! This is a great location since I need to be close to DTLA but don't ever want to live there. Can't wait to move in soon! read more

She did tell me a lot about the beautiful Aston apartments which are the definition of luxury. Recently toured and found the apartments to be in pristine condition. The two bedrooms were amazing and were kept clean and it looked as if it was never touched. The gym and pools pulled the apartment complex together and created an amazing environment to be in.
