He fixed my issue with a sliding patio door lock in such an expeditious manner, it was rather impressive. I picked his brain on other issues and he inspected all of my other doors to help identify problematic issues, they were all addressed immediately. Don't use them. Horrible. My wife got locked out and I made the mistake of calling them (I was at work). Guy was rude. Showed up and complained his lunch was interrupted. Then proceeded to look, not attempt to pick lock, and tell her he had drill it. Drilling is the LAST RESORT not first try. Wasn't a fancy lock, run of the mill Schlage. He should've spent 10-15 min trying before drilling but didn't even attempt. And proceeded to tell her "time is money and I can't be here all day". Didn't have to pay him $120 to drill a months old doorknob. Could've had my father in law do it for free. And result would've been the same. And he was also incredibly rude to my father in law as well. Will not be using or recommending. read more

I am writing this review to commend the professional service that I received today. I had a broken back door lock, and I contacted them for assistance. My repair person was Stuart, he was professional, prompt, reviewed the situation and recommended how to fix it. He repaired a multi point lock, and it works great. In addition, he noticed our front door locks were not installed properly. I asked him to look at that as well. He shimmed the door, repositioned the strikers, and the door lock turns effortlessly and is secured. WOW! Just paid $370 to get into my apartment! The phone service was unprofessional, the service man got here in 40 mins after I was told 25-30. Pulled up in a very rusty van and complained about the parking availability, in a village, while he was in a metered spot but that wasn't good enough. I needed new locks put in my house recently because I had some problems with an ex-girlfriend... I'll just leave it at that. I stopped in the shop and spoke to Don, the original owner of the place. It's nice to speak with the owner of the business I am dealing with that is about to secure my house; and not some snot-nosed, mouth-breathing kid at home depot that doesn't know anything other than whats on the package. On top of that, Assured has been open for over 30 years so I was very comfortable in trusting them to secure my home. Why do I know this? I know this because I asked.... I mean they are going to be installing the locks to my home so I wanted to know a few things. I spoke to Don for about 20 minutes and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He went over a few options and even suggested a few upgrades that made so much sense. I went ahead and booked the job to be done 2 days later. Stuart showed up right on time, and finished the job flawlessly in less time than he estimated. He was a nice guy, we talked for a bit while he was working. He has been working for Assured for over 10 years, you gotta love a small business like that! Yes, like some of the other Yelpers said....The bill was not as low as some other places. But I am securing my HOME, its my whole life in this place! I definitely watch every dollar I spend, and I cut corners these days as much as I can; but when it comes to the safety of my home... no way! I was happy to spend the extra few bucks to deal with a local Long Island small business that is trustworthy enough to be doing business for over 30 years. I have only good things to say about Assured Locksmith. I called them to open my door after locking myself out from my home. Stewart was pleasant and straightforward on the phone. He arrived exactly on time the next morning and was able to unlock my door without breaking the lock. Based on my experience, I would recommend that you stay away from this business. I had had keys made there so when we needed work done in the house, I called them. They replaced some door knobs and dead bolts. The bill was outrageous! Afterwards, I compared their prices to other locksmith's and learned that I had been overcharged by close to 100% When I called and later stopped there to complain, I was able to negotiate the bill down by a few hundred bucks. Now, I've overpaid by about 50%! My advice - compare prices, ask for "installed prices", and then decide on a locksmith. I'll bet that Assured Locksmith will not be your choice. read more

I had the worst experience with this locksmith. I lost my motorcycle key called this locksmith the guy told me no problem bring the bike in we can fit a key. Loaded the bike in the pickup and brought it over. After two hours of trying to make a key the guy sent me home and said he would call me when it was done. Got a call an hour later that it was done. I asked him to make a couple of spare keys and I paid the nearly $300 bill! Went out to the bike and tried the key and nothing happens! He told me if the key turns he did his job and its a problem with the bike.   I told him the motorcycle was working perfectly the day before.   Pretty much he said too bad sucker.  I brought the bike to Kawasaki and was told that the locksmith had  destroyed the ignition.  Kawasaki replaced the ignition for $200.  These guys are a ripoff!!! I recently visited the shop again to have a key made. They remembered me from previous visits, were kind, courteous and efficient. They are masters at what they do and a please to business with. Please, it was awful. The locksmith chopped up my camper door and inside wall of a restored Serro Scotty. When I brought photos the owner kept averting his eyes from them. All he kept saying was "My man has Hands of Gold"...So I said if I bring the camper and my photos are verified then I would like a refund. It's going to cost me over 500 to fix the birch alone. The bill was 300.00 He took off out of the shop with no assurance of making it right after being nasty as heck, and yelling at my husband on the phone. Beware. I had a very good experience with them. I brought in the door to an electronic, older safe that was left in the house I bought. They got it working for $25.00. They said that that there was rust in the interior of the door, which they had to clean out, and replace batteries, so I was pretty pleased with a mere $25.00! I took off one star because they said they'd call when it was ready, and they didn't - I had to call them after about 10 days. So, a little more organized may help. But overall, good service. Horrible! I hired them to re-key two locks in my home. After breaking one of the locks he tried to hit me with a $90 bill for a service call. I ended up doing what the "locksmith" was hired for and it cost me $5 bucks at Home Depot. These guys are terrible. I would not use them ever again! Beware!!! read more

We went next door to our neighbor's for a visit and when we tried to get in our front door our key wouldn't work. Thanks to Stuart, we were in our home with in a half hour of our call. When you have an emergency, the price isn't the ultimate concern....but the care and concern to our situation was. Stuart introduced himself as he got out of his truck. He discussed the options for a new lock and we went with the best, his recommendation...isn't securing your home something that should spare no expense? We also took advantage of our situation and did some additional things that we had been thinking of doing, yes we spent a lot of money, but it was for our security and the prompt service we received was well worth it. I just moved back into the neighborhood and suggested my girlfriend call them to get two entry doors and a shed door rekeyed.
