Summertime is hotdog season in my book. And I recently had the best hotdog I've ever had, courtesy…read moreof Trolley Dogs. One of their food trucks was at the Framingham Farmers Market this past Thursday. There was a wide variety of food available that evening, but for some reason, the Trolley Dogs food truck called out to me. As their signs say, they serve giant, handmade dogs. They're so big they have to use a mini sub roll, instead of a hotdog bun. You can order your dog as you like, or select from their menu of pre-planned dogs. I forget what it was called, but I ordered from the menu. My dog was topped with onion, relish, and hot mustard. It was super hot and humid on this day and I felt bad for the food truck workers. It must've been like an oven in there. The dog was so awesome I made my way back to the food truck afterwards to tell them so. If you enjoy an occasional hotdog like me, and you happen to see one of the Trolley Dogs food trucks somewhere, you should check it out! I promise, you'll be glad you did. P. S. I did not have one myself, but one of my companions had one of their craft lemonades. He raved about that Trolley Dogs offering as well.

The farm has restaurants as well but it was so busy and the line was crazy with wait looking like 1-2 hour we decided to just get hot dog at the stand. We ordered as soon as the store opened. They offer variations of hotdog with additional toppings like NY and Chicago style hot dogs. I wanted to order california style as they make their own chili and cheese sauce but they didn't have Chili or onions. Most of their menu has onions so its was kind of sad that that ruled out most options. I ended up getting western hot dogs with bbq sauce and cheese sauce. The hot dog was ok. The beef sausage was good but other than that sauces and buns were average. Service was ok. The staff was kind of rude and had an attitude. It's kind of silly that the food truck just opened and didn't even have chili or onions since it's not like they ran out. Overall it's a pretty average hot dog place. Price is pretty high for hot dog and everything aside from the sausage was mediocre. Didn't have that great of experience. Probably would not try again.

Is it worth waiting 15+ minutes to order lunch from a food truck? If it's Yummies Drive-Up, the…read moreanswer is a resounding YES! Yummies operates sporadically, so you'll need to check their website (yummiesdriveup.com) or Facebook page to find out where they'll be, when they'll be there, and what they're serving. Lately, they've been setting up shop at the Stanley Woolen Mill in Uxbridge. This past Saturday, we drove over to the mill parking lot and ordered three Turkey Dinners, plus an extra side of mashed potatoes and gravy. Their turkey is incredibly juicy and tender (how do they do that?), the stuffing is delicious, and the mashed potatoes and gravy are worthy of a place on your Thanksgiving dinner table. Even their cranberry sauce is nicely done, with just the right amount of tartness. So why did we order three dinners for two people? Simple. We turned lunch into dinner! Of course, it's hard to pass up their excellent lobster rolls, but as the weather turns colder, I'm looking forward to enjoying more of their hot turkey sandwiches and dinners. Yummies upcoming schedule: Sat NOV 7 STANLEY MILL Uxbridge 11-4 (or until sold out) Sat NOV 14 STANLEY MILL Uxbridge 11-4 (or until sold out) Bottom line: IMHO Yummies is well worth the wait!

Only other issue I had was my daughter wish her mickey mouse pancake had more chocolate chips. She thought they were gonna be baked inside not just on the outside. Pretty good otherwise but I wouldn't go back for anything in particular.

The person was immediately agitated saying they don't do online orders and they don't do curbside- like it was my fault their systems still allowed it. I told her I placed the order and got a confirmation email. After lots of huffing and puffing I heard her ask someone else if the do online orders then she came back on the phone and said they had my order inside. I asked if they could bring it out and she said no, we're too busy and hung up on me. I had to leave my kid in the car cause we weren't dressed to get out. Once I was inside the place was empty, not busy at all. The food itself was ok but portions were pathetic. I try to support local but will not be going back after this experience.
